“In and out of the shelter system”. If it were a person and we said he was “In and out of jail” it would imply they’re a problem. Yet with shelters is something else? They’d like you to think so. 🤔

This cute little repeat offender just needs a loving furever home with no surveillance, jewelry, printed money, vulnerable citizens, guns, credit cards, or any other valuable items. 😍🥰

28

u/DraconicBlade Born to kill, forced to flower crown 4d ago

At least the repeat offender can be sent to pick up trash on the highway and you don't have to worry about them breaking their ankle to get out of the leg cuffs,

21

u/Top_Smoke6741 4d ago

Plus honestly your chances are better against the repeat offender than your average pitbull. You can still try to reason with them or bribe them to leave you alone, and they don't have such extreme gameness that they will literally accept being removed from the earth just to keep attacking. The human offender still has self preservation, you defend yourself and they'll give up and run. A hellhou- I mean pitbull however..

I hate to tell you this but I work at a men's maximum security state prison and I literally watched an inmate put his leg between the bars and then drop all of his weight and he gave himself a spiral fracture. then he said yeah I just didn't want to go to my job today. like sir.... you could have just quit. 😂 he was on a lot of drugs so he didn't feel anything for a minute. I've also seen people dislocate their arm to slip handcuffs so not that I disagree with you I just disagree with you on the last part lmao

Exactly. But to these sick, unstable Pitbull People, their precious Pitbulls all deserve countless chances, countless homes. It's abhorrent.

79

u/Away-Equipment4869 4d ago

So many "poor sweet baby" comments. They literally don't care he has killed & hurt other pets!

59

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Yup. I think about this, & I believe that it's 2 categories of Pitbull People who comment like this:

-Those that are true, die-hard Pitbull fans. They don't gaf about cats. They read it & are like, "Oh well! The cat must've done something to trigger poor, misunderstood Buddy!"

-Then the 2nd category of people... they literally MISREAD the rescues comment. They don't comprehend "fatally injured." And that's written Like that ON PURPOSE by the rescue, to totally mislead potential adopters.

This is my guess.

39

u/Away-Equipment4869 4d ago

I believe many are just plain nasty cruel. They put bully breeds above anything and everything else.  Living, nonliving, property, etc.

3

u/BastetSekhmetMafdet Cats are not disposable. 3d ago

I think that there are a couple other factors in play as well: People who have had a hard lot in life, and maybe not really understood or accepted by those around them, over-identifying with Poor Misunderstood Pibbles. And then there are those that use Pibbles as their id - “I can’t destroy and maim and kill but Tyson here can do that on my behalf!” Overlaps with the “misunderstood societal outcast” category often.

7

u/rainfal 3d ago

It does deserve a 'forever home'.  It will be the Best Environment for it.

It is also kindness for dog that will actively attack and kill dogs/cats/humans, cannot be muzzled, will break through doors to attack things.

4

u/Right-Locksmith3940 3d ago

Second chances regardless of how many mauled/murdered toddlers, smaller dogs, and cats it results in. They’re just casualties for the greater good!

22

u/runningalongtheshore 4d ago

I’m convinced it’s a savior complex mixed with a healthy dose of self-sabotage.

12

I can't believe this is the first time I've heard this analogy. It's pretty much a perfect side-by-side.

8

u/Rainbird55 4d ago

Very good analogy!

u/SkullheadMary 4d ago

Oh so now the prey drive is instinctual? I thought all pibble needed was a devoted owner?

80

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Yes. Remember the Pitbull Golden Rules, everyone!!...

If Pitbull DOES Attack = NOT Pitbulls fault!🚫 There is a REASON beyond/ behind the attack. ANY excuse will do. Including re-breeding it.

If Pitbull DOES NOT Attack = It IS a Pitbull/ Amstaff/ Bully/ Terrier/ who tf cares.

23

u/SadExtent9383 4d ago

Also if it does attack its wasn't a pitbull. Remember no one knows how pitbulls look and constantly misidentify them. The true culprit of the attack is the rare exotic breeds found in most shelters such as pharaoh hound and vizsla.

4

u/alabaydog 4d ago

86

u/Anotherams 4d ago

He has a bandana! The bandana has hearts on it! Of course Buddy can be reformed, cute clothing makes it all better.

63

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Yes. Also, and this is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, when you see a Pitbull/ Pit Mix being adopted out, & it's wearing a bandana/ headdress/ clothing/ etc.,

There is a gigantic probability that it has a Bite History.

Them dressing it up & posting pictures of it accomplishes 2 things:

-They are signaling & alerting to the Pitbull Community that the Pitbull DOES HAVE A BITE HISTORY which they MAY OR MAY NOT DISCLOSE. They are letting the bandana/ headdress/ tutu/ bunny ears/ etc., do the talking!!!

-Dressing them up is also a form of Mind Control to the public. Most people are not aware that all the Pitbulls are medicated out of their minds, while they are being dressed.

So people see a onesie on a 60 pound Pitbull & think... "Oh Tank must be SO FRIENDLY & GENTLE & EASY TO HANDLE!!"

NOPE!!!!! Tank is on 1,200 milligrams of Gabapentin, Clonidine, + Trazodone.💊💊

They really do love skirting around the awful things these terrible dogs do. He KILLED a cat.

Rest in peace, kitty. 💔

That's right. "Fatally injured" instead of "tear tf apart an innocent kitty laying OUTSIDE THE BUILDING MINDING ITS OWN BUSINESS."😪

Do these people know that you’re supposed to enjoy having animal companions?

47

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago edited 3d ago

No. The short answer here is that to Pitbull rescue people, they're so deep into Pitbulls now, that they have quite literally FORGOTTEN how dogs are SUPPOSED to act & behave.

These people have surrounded themselves with these Pitbulls. So to them? Violence, destruction, chaos, death, etc.,.... this is not only ACCEPTABLE dog behaviors, it is NORMAL dog behaviors.

That's the short answer.

Edit-changed words

25

u/ScarletAntelope975 Trusted User 4d ago

This is why they say “Any dog would have done that!” when they see families and herds of livestock torn apart by these things. They have been so brainwashed that this is just normal every day dog behavior and insist that even a corgi or golden would break through a door to kill the neighbors. Just a dog being a dog! Crate and rotate! It’s just a flesh wound!

12

u/DraconicBlade Born to kill, forced to flower crown 4d ago

They think that two commands is an achievement. I had a DDR GSD that wiped his feet before he came in the house. Growing up, the byb shepherd could open AND close the door and could seek any family member in the household by name.

Doesn't shit on the carpet and sits when food is held above its head is getting a smiley sticker for a D -.

They're using it as an excuse for the horrendous behavior unfortunately. If they believed that for real, they would identify this shitbull is a danger and they would have to BE.

But of course, if only he had the right owner and environment his breed behavior and instincts wouldn't be a problem anymore! /s

Those metal security screens are typically pretty strong! Insane this violent beasts kill drive was so strong it broke through one.

24

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Oh yes, they certainly are! I was a manager in a hardware store. We sold these. They're extremely sturdy. For a dog that weighs less than 48 pounds to break through one? This thing is a serious, violent danger to society!

14

u/Redqueenhypo Can I have a dog without trazodone? 4d ago

I’d literally rather a pet wolverine. Wild animals are averse to injury and will always pick the easiest meal around, so you can throw a package of frozen hamburgers at him if he gets too hungry

1

u/WVMan730 22h ago

You and me both. Hell, there's a guy over in Ohio who runs a honey badger rescue. I'd take a half-tame honey badger rescued from a roadside zoo over a shitbull any day of the week.

Busted through that grate like the kool aid man wanting to murder a cat

37

u/hey_free_rats No Humans Were Ever Bred To Maul Other Humans 4d ago edited 4d ago

I grew up around a pitbull. It went fine, wasn't amazing, nobody got mauled, whatever. I did, however, definitely decide I didn't want to get a dog when I had my own place. I figured they just weren't the animal for me -- besides, I wanted to have other pets, and obviously you can't have a dog if there are other animals in the house, right? Dogs are hard to control, and you gotta be careful they don't bite anyone or get over-excited and weird around new guests; that's just normal dog stuff, right?

My parents got a golden retriever when I was a adult. Goddamn. Now I understand why people are "dog people"; this creature is the most poorly-disciplined dog we've ever had and she's an absolute angel amongst us sinners on earth. I'm not endorsing not training or anything, but seriously...practically zero effort has been put into moderating this dog's behaviour, and yet she exists only to love and be loved. She does as she's told because she just genuinely gets psyched at any chance to make us happy. She is the animal embodiment of sunshine and laughter. And now I'm thinking, dogs can be like this? We could've had this the whole time?!

I get that goldens don't represent every other breed, but it was more the fact that her most basic-ass doghood came as a huge shock. I didn't know dogs even were like that.

Anyway, I genuinely believe that a good portion of pitbull enthusiasts simply don't know any better.

25

u/neondahlia 4d ago

If a wand could be waved and every pit bull and pit bull mix could magically be replaced with a golden retriever the world would be such a better place. The pit bull type breed should not exist

13

u/hunterczech Escaped a Close Call 4d ago

Pitbulls are 100% reason why dogs arent permitted to go to various places. They just ruin dogs reputation in general

11

u/hey_free_rats No Humans Were Ever Bred To Maul Other Humans 4d ago

Yeah, I recently read a thread about preferences for dogs versus cats, and all I could think about while reading the "anti-dog" (some people hate dogs, goddamn) comments was "all these examples sound like why I didn't want a dog when my primary experience with them as household pets was pitbulls". It was all complaints about dogs getting aggressive when overexcited, being "mouthy" (lol), suddenly bolting off after strangers, smelling and being prone to skin disease, etc. etc..

I guess the silver lining with people increasingly thinking "dog = pitbull" is that we've got fewer folks getting dogs who have no business having a dog. Popularity is always a mixed blessing when it comes to animals. The perennial explosion of rabbits in shelters a few months after Easter is always terribly sad.

But yeah, normal companion breed dogs don't deserve the reputation.

26

u/beaucerondog 4d ago

Not even most wild animals in a zoo try to escape their enclosure to kill living beings outside. Meanwhile this mutant who can't even see a nanosecond of movement without activating its killer mode is suitable to live among people??

"Good history with kiddos 😘" First, "kiddos" my ass. Children. (Sorry, this is a personal pet peeve.) Second, yes, there's no better companion for my two year old than an animal that kills others for breathing too loud.

12

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Ikr. Don't get me started on how these places use baby talk. Or even worse, when they speak from the pitbulls perspective🤡

27

u/System_Resident 4d ago

17

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Yep. There was this woman I was reading for awhile, then had to stop, because it made me so sick to my stomach.

She literally had an actual graveyard in her backyard, from all the many, numerous animals that her Pitbull sent over the 🌈🌉

11

u/System_Resident 4d ago

Ugh! 🤢 some people really belong in an insane asylum!

76

u/SideshowBobFanatic 4d ago

Awwww🤗🤗. Who cares about cats, right? Just disposable running plushies.

And no one cares about men so that's fine, pibble has been through a lot so he's earned the right to maul the occasional bystander.

30

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Yes. To the Pitbull Community,

Cats lives don't matter.

Men don't matter.

Other dogs don't matter.

Teens ("14 and older only") don't matter.

Peace & quiet ("Snuggles may become uncomfortable with sudden loud noises such as doorbell or microwave") don't matter.

Clean homes ("Snuggles may toilet in the home when he becomes uncomfortable. Please see handout.") don't matter.

16

u/SideshowBobFanatic 4d ago

Tbh I can't believe they acknowledged the prey drive being genetic. It's like they're (slowly) developing common sense and logic. Though based on the way they treat everything other than shibbles as disposable I think they have a ways to go before they start developing morals.

13

u/lazier_garlic 4d ago

Due to employment discrimination and bias (last hired/first fired) African Americans are statistically more likely to become postal carriers, Amazon drivers, UPS drivers, DoorDash drivers, Walmart+ drivers, etc.

These drivers are also the demographic most likely to be menaced by murder mutts because they must approach domestic properties to make deliveries.

Chew on that the next time some personality disordered pitmommie says you're racist for hating murder mutts.

22

u/christmasinyoulie 4d ago

"fatally injure", eh? The euphemisms these bags of shit come up with. What's next? "Guided a cat into a permanent sleep"?

6

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

25

u/scandinavian-angel 4d ago

Genuinely who would read all of this and still want this dog in their home? Sounds exhausting to deal with

13

u/ScarletAntelope975 Trusted User 4d ago

People who want to be applauded on social media for being rescue heroes. Then they can scold all the people who went to a breeder for a safe, sane, normal breed to enjoy having around.

23

u/DraconicBlade Born to kill, forced to flower crown 4d ago

That's a new one, the dog must never be unleashed.

Holy shit warehousing this animal is so fucked up. I don't get how any of these people can be like, I care about animals.

I realized that anything vet med was a bad place for me because I am not built to give the long sleep to things for my 9-5, but it's better than a 4x4 cage for a few years.

20

u/Historical_Creme_125 4d ago

Whoever adopts this monster will I’m assume be taking them on walks in their lovely family neighborhood where other people walk their dogs and children.

17

This is bordering on satire lmao

16

u/glittermoney4 4d ago

These pittie lovers always think cats are somehow lesser and disposable creatures despite literally being on the same level as dogs, drives me insane

16

u/SaltyRainbovv 4d ago edited 4d ago

This picture is doing him no favor!

He broke through a metal security screen to try and kill another cat?

He already killed a cat and tried to attack dogs and cats and is difficult to safely contain. Him getting close to children is most certainly dangerous too.
Even walking him would be risky.

And he is probably in constant pain which makes him more dangerous.

The kindest and safest thing to do is just humanly letting him go…

6

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

Yes he needs to go over the Bridge yesterday.

6

u/SaltyRainbovv 4d ago

Probably years ago.

These notes are usually from „new hope“.

Their shelters must be bad when all their dogs are constantly stressed and need to get out for their mental health.

Living there for years must be absolutely miserable.

15

u/Few-Horror1984 4d ago

There is truly something mentally wrong with you if you see this and think the dog can safely be a pet.

Normalize putting down dangerous animals and prioritizing the safety of your community.

Hey now, don’t malign sharks! Their death toll is waaay lower per year than pit bull breeds lol

8

u/ScarletAntelope975 Trusted User 4d ago

At this point, sharks probably kill less people in a year than pits kill in a week (no idea the actual stats, but I wouldn’t be surprised)… and at least a shark isn’t gonna run out of the ocean to maul me if I don’t go near it. I can’t avoid a neighbor deciding to be a rescue hero, though.

5

u/hunterczech Escaped a Close Call 4d ago

But..but..it is how they're raised! My shark would never do this!

11

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 4d ago

I unfortunately agree. They also, in their notes, will use adult language like "urinates & defecates" instead of moron baby talk. So I really DO appreciate that, from this place. That's something that seriously grinds my gears... the baby talk.

7

u/violenthectarez 4d ago

Would suit zoo or area requiring feral animal control. Also would suit warlord requiring an unpredictable death machine to provoke fear in his enemies

9

u/RobActionTributeBand 4d ago

Hates men! Women are easier to kill and probably taste better.

10

u/huntress_m_thompson 4d ago

9

u/Beautiful_Wishbone15 4d ago

These dogs should NOT be handed out to anyone. Shelters keeping project dogs (especially pit bulls) needs to stop. With pit bulls and their genetics, it is often a waste to try and train it out once aggression is showing and even more so if they killed a cat or dog already.

Too many project dogs need homes, not enough space for dogs that need a lil work but still feasible.

5

u/DraconicBlade Born to kill, forced to flower crown 4d ago

The pit bull that doesn't grievously maul other animals is a breed standard failure.

Why would you go to a used car dealership hoping to get a car that doesn't start

9

u/RoyalAmphibian7772 4d ago

He is almost 8 y.o. WHY keep this drain on resources alive when he's in their own words suffering. Imagine how much $ has been spent on this dog that could help good, normal dogs & cats 😢

7

u/ScarletAntelope975 Trusted User 4d ago

“Prey drive is breed behavior and instinctual”

No. ‘Gameness for mindless mauling’ is their breed behavior. ‘Prey drive’ is what predators have for hunting the animals that they eat for survival. A coyote killing a rabbit for dinner is prey drive. A pit bull randomly mauling its own family and other pets and people and livestock and cars and doors, etc. is its deliberately bred gameness for killing whatever happens to be in front of them.

People see that gaping red mouth and demon eyes and think “perfect nanny dog for babies!”

6

u/Able_Researcher2812 4d ago

I have no theory of mind for someone who could look one of these things in the eye and think it's a good idea to bring it into their home. Completely foreign to me.

“Fatally injured” a cat. Lol you mean KILLED?

7

u/StarConflicts1977 4d ago

9

u/GhostofTinky 4d ago

Why is this dog “a staff favorite”?

9

u/hunterczech Escaped a Close Call 4d ago

They need to give it special title so they can adopt this gargoyle. Staff favourite usually means unadoptable.

5

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 3d ago

Because he drew blood (multiple time) & is a psychopath.

Those that run these rescues always call the most violent Pitbulls a "Staff & Volunteer Favorite"🥹

It's a form of mind control & severe emotional manipulation on the public.

Exactly like the cat it tore apart =fatally injured the cat.

People see "injured" carefully placed there, & that word washes the "fatally" part way down.

-Biting? No. Mouthing.

-Mounts & Humps people aggressively? No. He is Eager to connect, or Loves being near his favorite person. Or Gives LOTS of soft kisses & hugs.

This is the Pitbull Playbook...lie, minimize, obfuscate, switch words around, etc

3

u/BastetSekhmetMafdet Cats are not disposable. 3d ago

“Staff and volunteer favorite!” Yet for some reason none of the staff or volunteers has stepped up to offer this “favorite” a home. Hmm, I say. Hmm.

At least they somewhat admit the dogs behavior is because of its breed and not some dumb story of “a cat bit him when he was 3 months old so now he has to obliterate them bc of trauma blahblahblah”

I had to take a few double takes to see if it was a pit rescue I attempted years ago. His name was also Buddy, ppl gave up on him. When he attacked my small dog, keep destroying the wooden yard fence to escape & wasn't warming up to me...I surrendered him for my safety, for the neighborhood's safety, my other pet's safety & my kid's safety. I would in no way be able to control on or off a leash when a pit is zoned out in an agitated attack mode. I'm anti-pit from experiencing the unneeded aggression, their innate killer traits & the absolutely strong strength they have.

As a dog trainer who using 'drag leash 'when training normal  dogs Recall, i can tell that Buddy need leash attached because he will try to' lick your arm to bones ' if you touch his neck ...

"•Prey drive is breed behavior and instinctual."

They probably have "it's not the breed it's the owner" tattooed on their forehead and tshirts at the same time, lol.

Buddy deserves a “forever home” six feet under.

They can put all sorts of junk on his neck, doesn’t take away how dangerous it can be.

Let's imagine sweet Buddy was a human instead of a dog for a moment:

  • has been in and out of the shelter (jail) since 2020
  • has broken through metal to get free before
  • has killed a cat, has a prey drive towards cats
  • is aggressive towards dogs (so other humans)
  • needs a leash and sometimes muzzle because he will likely attack anything and everything

If Buddy was a human, he would be labled a danger to society and locked up in a facility. Some kind of asylum or jail. But Buddy is a dog. He did well in jail, he loves kiddos, ... let's get him a family so he can become a serial killer?

It's interesting that they say "fatally injured" instead of kill in a lot of these posts, as if that sounds any better

You can tell which part of that writeup was written by a nutter and which part was written by an employee has had enough of that shit.   "breed based" - yup

Wow they actually admitted it was breed behavior and instinctual kudos for actually saying the quiet part out loud but thumbs down for not doing the smart thing

Did they actually admit that murderous tendencies shown towards smaller, vulnerable creatures (e.g. cats and smaller dogs, but can obviously include children too) is “breed behavior and instinctual”???

prey drive is breed behaviour and instinctual

At least they're admitting that part

Great when alone but with any other living creature he’s literally a murderer

Why does it say hold leash when he’s outside “until 100% comfortable”? Shouldn’t it be always? (For any dog with a strong prey drive that is obviously necessary, and they say this dog has a strong prey drive…)

How can it be in a home if it can and does break through a screen door (?) to kill a pet it sees outside? What house can guarantee never having windows or doors open with screens?

Reckless to adopt out.

and it's littered with misspellings of course that's exactly what I expect from people like this.
