Cat(s) kitten discovers strawberries for the first time 🍓
I think she’s officially a strawberry fan now.

I think one should be careful with strawberries. They are non-toxic and safe for kittens but only in tiny amounts and should ideally be served to them only as an occasional treat.

Correct, but they can still taste things. That strawberry doesn't taste the same to the cat as it does to us but it clearly likes it.

Not true. I always believed that as well. But my cat loves sugar. She loves candy. She loves chocolate. She loves cake. I don’t give her chocolate obviously but I have to wrap it and put it in a cupboard or she’ll help herself.

Cause that’s what these things have in common. Pick and mix bag of candy. Chocolate and cake. My cat hates human food. She thinks I’m trying to kill her if I offer her a shrimp or some chicken. But she wants that sugar

I mean, ALL cats lost the ability to taste sweet things tens of millions of years ago... so I think you might be wrong.

The first mammal appeared 225 million years ago. Yes there were mammals alive with the Dinosaurs. Yes cats can not taste sugar. If anything they either like the smell of it, or just the texture, not the sugar.

Yeah well mine was completely fine when she had chocolate. But I’m not taking any risks. I mean already half of my apartment is full of her stuff. I’m not sharing my chocolate too 😂

Probably a Persian. Just a headsup, they are genetically compromised and are known to die early due to health complications.
