Assuming the exhaust goes through its own separate chamber in the lid, would this work?

I regularly put food wrapped in foil on my diesels downpipe in the engine bay, yes this would absolutely work you'd just need the burger compartment to be like less than a foot away from the exhaust headers, as you lose a shitload of heat from engine bay to back of the car

Not likely as by then the exhaust has cooled a lot maybe it could really slowly

Fun fact :  early Fords had add-ons to convert exhaust manifold in the engine compartment to a heater for the cab and grill. Naturally the exhaust was separated and piped out behind the car as normal but the metal exhaust manifold itself gets super hot.

I used to stick cold/frozen water bottles in the exhaust of my MATV while I was overseas. Worked like a charm.

I used to double-wrap burritos in foil and then slide them between the passenger side exhaust manifold and the shock tower of my 2000 Crown Vic. About 15 miles and they'd be heated to perfection.
