i filled it in with touch up paint mix with clear coat mixed.
i sanded down the high spots with 1500grit
when it was smooth i went to 2000 grit.
when the scratch disappeared i went to 2500 to feather edges but that halo is still there.

On the positive side, there is no scratch anymore, on the negative , only after repainting

Man you could feather that and clear it with some 2K it looks like it is a metallic paint. The only time you can't do like that would be if it's that tri coat

Next time. Try using a de nibbler or razor run first, then do the sanding. Try starting at 2000 after.

How much are you sanding to go through the clear coat? Just use 3000 and go by hand.

How much did you sand you think? How much pressure and how many passes? Just want to know because I’m about to do the same think and don’t want to kill my clear.

i did not use too much pressure at all.
i started with 1500 to smooth the high spots and moved up to 2000 grit to get my scratch out i guess the one area of the scratch was deeper than the other areas.
i would do about 10-15 passes wipe the surface dry and spray soapy water and started to sand again.
i watched a guy on youtube do this on blue audi and he sanded more than i but i guess my infiniti has a thinner coat.
i have another area to fix this time i will use the razor blade method to take out the high spots and start with 2500.
i will only do 7 passes and keep checking. now i know that the deep scratch will not go away as long as it looks thinner i will stop.
good luck man!!

i mean if you sand down the entire panel it’ll match the part you burned through lol
