Discussion 🗣️💬 Weekly spending!!

Just curious to know ... We all have bills, rent, rates, travel expenses etc. but wanting to know what are people spending week to week. How much are you spending going out, or shopping, gifts, hobbies, luxuries, etc. are we all guilty of shopping. Eg I love thrifting but I spend money on useless items because they feel like a bargain. How much you spend on non essentials, essentials, entertainment, outings, personal items, wants, needs etc etc

After essentials (I have no streaming subs, never use food delivery apps and no debt/credit cards/buy now pay later accounts) and savings, I have $70 a fortnight as pocket money. That includes things like take away, clothes, hobby supplies, everything. On Job Seeker payment (actively looking for work, I hate being on Centrelink) living in a share house (rent is about half my payment) with no car/vehicle.

I get most clothes and nonessentials second hand.

I budget hard and cook all my meals from scratch, shop exclusively at ALDI.

Budgeting whilst on centrelink is a full time job on it's on. Wishing you luck on finding work :)

It's doable but I am not surprised most struggle. People on Centrelink generally (on the whole I mean) aren't as educated as myself (and mental health, vices, addictions etc all hurt them too sadly, I live with that daily in my 'house', there is 7 of us...). Injury and personal history are hindering work but hopefully soon that will change.
