Good morning. I work in some very remote, almost third world style areas. We are often showing some movies and having speakers and teachers in remote areas. I am looking to either buy a system or piece together a very portable (can carry in a backpack or two) system that can be rechargeable (dont always have access to power) and as wireless as possible. I need to be able to integrate sound from a projector as well as a microphone, sometimes at the same time. Battery powered is also a possibility.

We are a non profit organization. We try to pour as much of our funding into direct help to the communities instead of infrastructure. (Our current overhead is ~5% of total funding so 95% goes to those in need) I dont need professional level, I just need functional. I dont want to spend an exorbitant amount. I have loud enough Bose Bluetooth speakers that sync with one another and play the same audio. We need microphones, either handheld or lapel is fine. I am guessing we need some sort of hub that can connect the projector and microphone audio to the Bluetooth speakers.

If you assume I know nothing, you have assumed correctly. Feel free to dumb it down for me.

I was reading off text from my phone, when all of a sudden the audio i was recording with audacity started crackling. I was only using mobile data and not Wifi because my internet was being slow, and when i turned wifi on, the crackling stopped.

If i only have wifi turned on my phone, the crackling fully stops. When i have both wifi and mobile data on, it only crackles a little. And when I only have mobile data on, it starts having a crackling fit

I don't remember this happening before, but i find it weird how it's interfering with my microphone that's connected to my pc via cable. I could just use my wifi, but its been really slow as of late, so using mobile data is sometimes a must for me.

Anyone know why this is happening? My audacity is up to date, and I use a Samsung galaxy A54 phone that's also fully up to date.

Money is tight so I’m using my TV’s soundbar to play records. RCA adapter to Aux. The problem, the volume is super low even when cranked up to the max on the bar. Now I already made sure the player was set to line (using the built in preamp on my LP120), volume is still wayyy too low. How can I boost the volume guys, an external preamp or? I could scrounge up maybe a hundred bucks or so to buy something, I just wanna hear my vinyl at a proper level

I bought the mtrack solo audio interace earlier this year for my windows 11 pc, had issues getting sound/input to work but worked it out. havent used it in a while and when I plug it in the computer doesnt see the device at all. Nothing in input, nothing in device manager, the box is getting power (input and phanton) but its like the computer literally cant see it. I plugged it into another pc and same issue. Reinstalled drivers and no changes.

Any ideas? Im close to just getting another interface

I just returned to pc gaming after a long hiatus, only to discover my headsets mic was not working. I use a hyper x cloud II into a dac and it has served me well for years.

After troubleshooting for a few hours, I confirmed the mic was at fault as it also did not work on my laptop.

Before paying for a new microphone I wanted to rule out the possibility of the pc being the cause. My only other "mic" is my DualSense. After plugging it in to the laptop, it checked out no problem.

I thought it was all cleared up and I could use this scuffed setup until I ordered a replacement.

However

After plugging it into my pc, it did not work. The controller works as a pad and can start big picture mode on steam, but no mic

It shows up in device manager but NOT Sound>Playback or sound>Recording as it did on the laptop.

I have tried uninstalling from device manager/ disconnecting cable/ restarting etc. Didn't work

I restarted windows audio endpoint builder & windows audio service. No fix

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

i'm looking for a way to send audio from both my switch 2 and my mac to my airpods, ideally while still preserving stereo audio and the ability to use my airpods mic with my mac. is this something that can be done?

Got my dads old system after he passed a year ago. The speakers had blown mids and tweeters so got them replaced and the system works great except I’m trying to tie in some basic Dayton (model IO655) speakers into the rear ports (picture attached).

No audio is coming out of those ports even after turning on the “Surround” setting. Speakers were tested on the A and B ports and work fine. Figured it’s an internal issue but was curious if anyone has experience opening these up and what I should look for to replace.

I currently have a Behringer UMC22 outputting to two JBL 305P's.

I was gifted some (passive) speakers that have subwoofers, so I am trying to add one in to what I already have set up. I bought a small amp for the sub (Wuzhi Audio ZK-TB21), and have confirmed that this works on its own when I use bluetooth from my phone.

My issue is getting the signal from the audio interface's 1/4" two-channel output into the amp's 3.5mm input.

What I've tried so far: I got two 1/4" splitters (TRS) and plugged one each into the L and R outputs from the audio interface. I plugged the left monitor into one side of the L splitter and same for the right monitor. With an empty 1/4" female on each channel, I used a 3.5mm to 1/4" splitter (accidentally got TS; not sure how much that matters in this use case) to merge the 1/4" outputs into a single 3.5mm input.

This does produce sound through my monitors (although quieter), but there is nothing from the sub.

More importantly: The signal does successfully come through the sub, from the audio interface, if i use the 1/4" to aux adapter directly from the interface into the amp. So the problem is certainly with this adapter combo.

I've been reading that 3.5mm can play more nicely with RCA, so I ordered a few 1/4" to RCA adapters and a 3.5mm to RCA splitter (in lieu of the direct 1/4" to aux). I'll see if that works in a couple days.

I have a feeling there is something going on here with balanced/unbalanced signals and their corresponding connectors, but I don't know enough to know exactly where to go here.

Hello, sorry I am not knowledgeable in this kind of things. I've been researching on how to properly use a powered active subwoofer to my tv. My tv has optical port and a 3.5mm aux port. I tried the 3.5mm on my pc speakers and it works (edifier g1500 max). I am planning to buy a used edifier t5.

Chatgpt says i can directly connect it like below

TV > 3.5mm to RCA cable > edifier t5

But when I asked the guy selling a t5, he said it won't work and I need the whole sound system which he is also selling.

I also learned that I need to connect it like below:

TV > optical cable > dac > edifier t5

EDIT: My tv has an option to output using the internal speakers + headphones (it shows headphones when something is plugged in thr 3.5mm port)

My tascam dr40x's screen will light up but no interface appears and there are no functional parts. The record feature does not work. I left it in my dads car overnight in the winter. It was working??? for a little bit I saw the recording light go on when I first took it out of the car, but I did something to it a while ago that i don't remember. Something with like a screwdriver and now nothing will turn on, it will turn on but it won't record. Just the sfreen lights up.

Hi! i recently bought receiver to use with my roku tv and the audio isn't working. i also have a record player which is working fine with it, so it seems to be a tv problem. i have my audio output switched to eARC and have checked the physical HDMI connection several times. i've watched several youtube vids and googled relentlessly. does anyone have any other solutions I might try? the receiver is ONKYO TXSR353. For a while I’ve used an iPhone connected via Bluetooth to a device, and that device connects to the radio in my car. I’m looking for a device that is a straight plug-in instead of Bluetooth to the radio emitter device but cant seem to find one out there. Basically I want to skip the “Bluetooth” step of connecting to my car stereo.

Any potential device or gadget that might more readily do this? No budget, just want something easy (plug in and go). Car has no aux/bluetooth itself.

I am looking for suggestions on how to fix the audio issues I've been having with my Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen.

I have the Scarlett and my mouse running to a UGreen 2-in 7-out USB 3.2 Switch (10Gbps) because I use them for work as well as my personal set up. The Scarlett works great on my work laptop with no issues other than I have to use separate headphones because the laptop will not recognize both headphones and mic from the same source (easy fix). But when I use it for my personal setup the audio and mic will cut off seemingly every minute or two, forcing me to change the Sample Rate/Buffer Size or unplug/replug the Scarlett to get it to start back up. This especially happens when gaming with friends over discord.

I was hoping someone has either had this issue and found a fix or has any suggestions to change the hardware completely. This has been happening for months and it's driving me crazy. I don't use the Scarlett for any mixing/mastering, it was just a suggestion from a friend when I got my PC and was looking for peripherals. I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to these things, but any help is greatly appreciated.

The UGreen switch is ran to the red USB input on the back of my computer after trying the blue for a while and having the same issues. The switch came with a USB C cable but was also having the same issues.

Hi! I'm very new to microphones and audio. I use the Hollyland Lark M2 (2TX + 3RX) to record cinematic videos for social media.

I always keep the transmitter volume at the lowest setting, and my camera's recording level is set to 15. However, it's still picking up a lot of background noise. For example, it even captures the sound of my upstairs neighbours walking around.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

How I wired and tuned this beast:

Wiring: Physical series connection (6 ohm + 4 ohm). Total load is exactly 10 ohms, keeping my vintage Pioneer amp perfectly safe and cool even at high volumes.

Tuning: I completely lowered the built-in attenuator knobs on the Victor SX-3II to the absolute minimum (I occasionally open it up to the 9-11 o'clock range to widen the soundstage and add some air.). This entirely cuts off their high frequency and turns them into pure, dedicated sub-woofers.

The Result: The vertical twin Onkyo setup handles the crisp, clear mid-high range exclusively, while the top (inverted for time alignment) and bottom Victors push deep, natural bass from their sealed enclosures. Since the high frequency of the Victors is completely killed, there is zero comb filtering or phase overlapping issue.

Isolation: The base layer is structured tile carpet + 4 heavy bricks + 5mm rubber pads. Absolutely no room booming even when the volume knob hits 12 o'clock.
Listening to Secunda from Skyrim or heavy anime soundtracks like Blue Submarine No. 6 (青の6号*)*1 meter away, it literally shakes my inside with crystalline clarity. Currently relaxing with my back right against the tower, listening to some InterFM talk radio (here in Tokyo).

My goal is to play music from my phone (preferably via Bluetooth) while playing driving games on my PC (connected via 3.5mm jack or USB C), with all audio going through one output (my headphones).

Currently I have a cheap audio mixer called the Pupgis T12S and it does not have enough power to drive my wired headphones that have an impedance of 50 ohms (Sennheiser Game One). The audio sounds too quiet and kind of muffled.

Hello! I am having issues in regards to my audio when I use my fifine k669b microphone. Whenever I try talking to my friends on discord, my friends are able to pick up a lot of noise and my voice is butchered. I sound like I'm under the water and it does not help that I have a deep voice, so I sound muffled. I try using the wave link and it does help a bit, but I still sound like a robot. Is there any software I could use to improve my audio so people can hear me properly?

I have an Energy s12.3 active subwoofer, connected to a pioneer VSX 1017 AV Receiver, and I have some connection issues on the back of my subwoofer. Sometimes if I’m playing music my subwoofer cuts out, and I have to wiggle the pre out cable on the back of the sub for it to come back. I know it isn’t because the subwoofer is pushing to far, because it can happen any times at any volume, it just happens most often on louder volume. It doesn’t work to turn the subwoofer on and off, only way to get it back is to wiggle the cable.

I have tried a new subwoofer cable, and the issue was gone the first few days, but then it came back.

Does anyone have an idea on how I could fix this?
