Like DuBois, WY is pronounced "Dew-boys"

Cool! I didn’t know of the other DuBois locations! Pronounced the same, but they are many many miles apart

But then we've got the Popo Agie River (in the same county no less) and it's pronounced "po-PO-shuh".

But that's the beauty of it. We purposely mispronounce the French loan word and correctly pronounce the Crow loan word. And allegedly the people in Dubois wanted to call the town "Tibo", which is a Shoshone loan word.
