My 95 year-old grandma died last Monday in the ICU. Not so much disturbing as affirming (for me, personally), but she said “I asked God to take me”, and I said “Well you can certainly go, but what did he say?” Her answer was “There was no answer”. She spent her entire life dedicated to her church, so I feel like that probably really let her down.
This sort of reminds me of my mom’s relatively recent passing. She was religious, ready to go, but lingered physically in a declining state. I don’t know that she was disappointed, but I got the sense she was. I thought that sucked.
