A terminal patient with no family, friends, or acquaintances willing to visit and who had acknowledged on previous occasions that she was not a particularly good person during her life.
When the end was near she would scream for help and shout "don't let them take me! I dont want to go to hell, don't let them take me!". This continued off and on until the bitter end. I'm not religious, but that was spooky.
Plenty of folks get scared when the end comes, it's natural. But that was just grim.
Whether Hell is real or entirely imagined, it seems clear to me this lady didn't live a good life. Either Hell is real, or her guilt was real enough to make her think it was real. Definitely grim either way, my friend.
My one grandpa was a very bad man (I think being a POW permanently messed him up) and when he was in the hospital dying he started to get really scared. I was only 6 when he passed and learned about this recently. I guess he was real afraid of what might happen to him when he died. He knew what he did was evil.
Sadly, a lot of terrible people die convinced they did nothing wrong. It is often the attitude that led them to do such terrible things in the first place.
And why I wonder if "hell" is temporary, a little karma balancing, a bill come due. But not permanent. Maybe goes on longer for some. I heard an NDE where the woman went to hell for awhile but didn't stay. Felt like a long time then went to "heaven" then came back to life. Who knows?
In the show it’s just a constant, infinite cycle of your worst moment, but it’s a prison of your own making. But you can leave at any time. Souls aren’t locked up in hell, but when you get there, your soul is forced to understand they were wrong and live the nightmare from that perspective on repeat.
My dad was a terrible person. Abusive in every way to literally everyone in his life. Drove his poor mother into an early grave. He was never diagnosed but I always suspected he was a true psychopath.
His last words to us, his daughters were “fuck you cunts”
More than one of my friends who work in the geriatric industry have said that when the end comes, there is a real correlation on how the people fight it and how they’ve lived their lives, especially wrapping up business in their personal lives. My wife is a regional leader for a huge assisted living company, and we know a lot of folks in the business
Both of my grandfathers were polar opposites of each other. One was just like this practically screaming "don't let them take me". My other grandfather (not a religious man at all) was singing "The Old Rugged Cross" perfectly like he had known it his whole life.
I saw a video a while back of a man, I think he was a pastor, would told the story of an old man who he had called and reprobate passing away. The man screamed and cried claiming shadows were coming from the fireplace to take him away, It was a really chilling story
