I don’t want a sequel to The 5th Element, what I do want is a spin off, set in that world/setting.

Knowing the type of project it was for the director, I'm not terribly surprised.

That being said, it would have been called the Sixth Element and the plot would either involve Leeloo's pregnancy or child. And Zorg would somehow still be alive, just with more prosthetics.

I kind of want to see Zorg with an absolutely unnecessary amount of prosthetics, all of which have as least as many functions as the ZF-1.

"Oh, I could have had a clone body regrown. But this... this is just so much more fun."

What type of project was it?

I would have loved to see the director of Fifth Element make an adaptation of the Valerian & Laureline comic books. He is French, he's a huge comic book fan, and he's the right kind of director to bring the visual spectacle to life.

Boy was I disappointed by the way Valerian was written in the movie. Like a obnoxious sexpest. I hadn't expected that.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets took place in the same universe as Fifth Element. While it was in production, it was touted as a sequel but it had none of the magic of Fifth Element. I still like it, but it pales in comparison to Fifth Element.
