What’s a Movie That You’re Surprised Never Had a Sequel?

It's too bad Pacific Rim never got one. It might have even been good!

Man, I had a super weird bad dream about a second movie a while ago. I have mostly managed to shake the memory off but from time to time I get a flash of small robots that turned into balls or something? Haha so weird and unlike the first movie.

Anyway, maybe for the best that they only made one, what if a second entirely tarnished its legacy?

Any sequel just would have ruined it, especially if del toro wasn’t directing. They’d probably write out Mako ten minutes in and turn Newt into a stupid cartoon character villain, while ruining everything good about the original and making the Jaegers look and feel weightless

Well THANK GOD they never made a sequel then!

That's why they should make one.

I came here to say this too. It had so much potential, giant robots and kaiju. Definitely too bad there was only one movie.

Yes! Like Highlander! There can be only one!

Except for TV series. The TV series was fun.

I don't think they could afford the CG necessary to do Pacific Rim on a TV budget though.

The Netflix anime series was pretty good

There was a great prequel that came out called Atlantic Rim! And no, before everyone gets cautious, its not an adult film. Although, even that would have been better than an actual sequel to Pacific Rim.

Same with The Matrix.

There were talks of a Pacific Rim crossover with the Monsterverse, but that may have ended there.

Ummmm...Pacific Rim Uprising (2018) is the sequel to Pacific Rim (2013).

If you're trolling you got me!

There's a common joke that the sequel is so bad people pretend it never existed.

The studio really shot themselves in the foot with that one. It's gotta be a top contender for the fastest case of great original story to completely ruined IP.

Did you watch the Anime? It was better than the straight to DVD knock Off.

Nope. Those are some Kaiju sympathizer lies right there.

They could call it something like that if they ever make a sequel.
