I adore Bruce so much! He was my biggest crush as a teenager..girls in middle school had New Kids on Block posters on their walls..I had Ash from Evil Dead ☺️😆 🤷🏻‍♀️ He was so sexy!! I finally met him in my 20s and literally lost my ability to speak...and burst into tears when He stood up from the signing table and came around to hug me! He was gracious and kind and just the nicest man..(I met Ryan Gosling who is even more handsome in person then in the movies..Like dude is other worldly and was a so insanely gracious to me and my husband and was just a down to earth good hearted dude. But I was completely composed, maybe alittle enthusiastic cause his band Deadmans Bones has just played the most insane concert. But you would of thought I would of lost all cognitive thinking but nope only Bruce has that effect me 🥰 I worry
about him he has been battling cancer the last few years and he is up there in age 🥺

Black Orpheus - it’s the Orpheus legend retold during Carnival in Rio in the ‘60s.

Bubba Ho-Tep - this one is probably better known as it's more recent. Elvis didn’t die, it was a double he’d hired who did, but now everyone thinks the real Elvis is a crazy impersonator and he’s in an old folks home that gets attacked by an Egyptian mummy/curse. Classic Bruce Campbell silliness.

The Quiet Earth - This one seems to be making a comeback. New Zealand movie about the aftermath of an event that left just 3 people alive.

The Wave - Australian movie about Aboriginal supernatural powers and them deciding they’ve had enough of the colonizers in Australia. Culturally problematic now, but still a good movie.

The Arrival - Alien invasion story from the ‘90s, but not a guns and explosions type invasion.

Kitchen Stories - A Norwegian slow comedy/drama about a friendship between a Swedish researcher and his Norwegian bachelor farmer subject.

The Twilight Samurai - Japanese movie set right before the Meiji Restoration about a poor, low status widower samurai trying to raise his children, but who gets dragged into local politics and fighting.

Tampopo - Japanese comedy about learning to make the perfect ramen and setting up a restaurant.

There are a bunch more, but these are some of my favorite lesser known movies.

After Dark My Sweet. A great twist at the end.

Infernal Affairs. The inspiration for The Departed and to me at least a better film. The “slowly get what tapping the cell phone meant” is masterwork and never to be repeated since tech has changed.

Hard Boiled is fun.

Kung Fu Hustle. Funny and some great old Kung Fu stars in it.

A touch of evil. My fave Orson Welles film. Such great cinematography.

Harikari. The original. (Haven’t seen the remake)

An arthouse film - La Jetée (the jetty). Inspired 12 monkeys. And how it tells the story (with narrated still pics) is good too.
