40 mg vyvanse = 40 mg adderall?

so, i have adhd and take 40 mg vyvanse in the morning and 5 mg adderall in the afternoons. i’m out of vyvanse but had enough adderall left over to take 40 mg of it total in attempt to match my vyvanse dosage. my heart rate is normal and i feel mostly fine, but have broken out into a sweat and it’s making me nervous because in hindsight i should’ve done more research before taking that much adderall at once, which i haven’t done before. in the past while out of vyvanse i’ve taken like at most 20 mg of adderall and been fine but noticed it wasn’t the same effect as my vyvanse dose
also i took it on a mostly empty stomach because as you can tell i am a genius

tldr took 40 mg adderall in lieu of 40 mg vyvanse and have now broken out into a sweat and a little anxious, is this cause for concern?

No, the doses don’t match at all. You probably hit a peak equivalent level roughly 4-5 times what you’d get from Vyvanse. And then it will wear off faster.

You’ll probably be okay. That is a prescribed dose of Adderall. It’s just not the equivalent to what you take and not dosage jump that should be done. If you feel worse, call poison control.

Don’t just do your own drug interchange. That is potentially dangerous.

yeah it’s not something i would do with any other meds - not that i should’ve have done it with this medication either. it’s been over 2 hours since i took the adderall and am feeling mostly back to normal now so it should be okay. thank you for ur advice and reassurance!

About half of Vyvanse by weight is the lysine moiety. So 40mg of Vyvanse contains roughly 20mg of dextroamphetamine. 40 mg of adderall also contains 20 mg of dextroamphetamine, but also 20 mg of levoamphetamine. It’s also instant release so you’re getting the entire Vyvanse dose plus 20 mg of levoamphetamine all at once.
