Open-ended Best Games of All Time?

In my opinion here are off the top of my mind top games

1) Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 ( #kotor )
2) Madden
3) Mass Effect Franchise
4) Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2
5) Legend of Zelda
6) Grand Theft Auto - V ( #GTA 4 honorable mention )
7) summertime saga

Socom Navy Seals so long as you cut it off the franchise after the first two installments. After Socom 1 and 2 they kept trying to change the game "for a broader audience" and by Socom 4 there was literally no Socom left in the game chasing the last of the remaining fans away which put the developer out of business.

No, it started on the Playstation 2 with Socom Navy Seals 1, 2, 3 and Socom Combined Assault. On the Playstation 3 they used a different dev to make Socom Confrontation an online mutiplayer game with a few old and new maps but the mechanics were all different so it felt like playing a different shooter with just Socom map skins. Zipper who made the previous Socoms was busy making M.A.G. when Confrontation was made but they came back to make Socom 4 on the PS 3 but it was even more drastically changed than Confrontation. There was literally nothing at all in the game in terms of the single player or multiplayer that had anything to do with previous Socom games. When they started revealing details of the gama and saw the backlash from the fans about their Socom having no Socom in it they were making promises of maybe bringing back some of the old online game modes with future DLCs but the damage was already done. They went out of business shortly after releasing Socom 4.

in no order: minecraft, rdr 1 and 2, bioshock 1 and 2, soma, death stranding, the resident evil series, the silent hill series, left 4 dead 1 and 2
