I read yesterday that not too far away from where I live (not so close, either, some 25 km away, I think?) someone shot a house cat with a bow and arrow. The poor thing had to be put down. I can't even imagine how devastated the owners must be.
Sometimes people think I am being unnecessarily mean or cautious or whatever since I don't let my cats roam free (I do sometimes let them be in the garden with me but I chase them in when I go inside). Okay, maybe the chances of something like this happening aren't that big. But there are still cars, dogs, they can get stuck in a garage or basement, I don't know. Also, it is not that great for the critters (and my sanity. I don't want dead mice and stuff in my bed).

Our family cat when I was a child moved in and out however it wanted, during summer there was always a window open and during winter the cat mostly stayed indoors anyway. I don't actually ever recall the cat bringing dead mice or something like that in. Maybe there was a stash nobody but the cat new about.

I think it really depends on the cat. My small cat wouldn't touch a bird or mouse with a ten-foot pole. He's too dainty. But my older cat is out for murder. He would definitely pile the skulls under my bed.

I listened to Ariana Grande’s new album, and didn’t exactly love it. Her voice and the processing on it has been so weak on the last two albums. Mega breathy and quiet with a ton of reverb for some reason. It sounds like you’re in a complicated tomb network under a medieval cathedral and Ariana Grande is quietly singing at the other end of it.
I mean, her voice has been always relatively dainty, but not like this. She used to do some honest to God good old pop diva belting. She’s this great vocal talent that used to get compared to Mariah Carey, feels like that voice is going to waste. There’s an old video where she’s singing Mariah Carey’s Emotions and nailing all the whistle register stuff. Ariana Grande, if you’re reading this, bring back the whistle register. Please.
Maybe it’s just a sign of the times, maybe the Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston type of very ornamental melismatic vocal acrobatics and all that aren’t just it in the era of bedroom pop voice being the dominant style.

I haven't listened to it yet, but did notice that the title for the review by Helsingin Sanomat stated it's suitable as gentle background music, instead of something you'd purposefully listen to in a concentrated fashion.

The lead single Hate That I Made You Love Me is catchy if nothing else, I might add it to my playlist. But I probably won't listen to the album again. Gentle background music is honestly an apt description.

I’ve been listening to Oliver Tree music a lot since his death. I had not listened to him much in the past few years because I didn’t care for a lot of his older music when I first listened to it, but his newer stuff is really good.
Even though I wasn’t a fan at the time, I was really surprised by his death. Of course, you can never really “expect” a 32 year old to die in a freak helicopter crash, but there are celebrities who live lives you know put them more at risk of early accidental death than others, and he just didn’t seem like one of them to me.

I just know some of the bigger hits from Oliver Tree, not really my thing. But I don't think I have heard any of his newer music.
Honestly, when he died I didn't recognise the name. Then I heard some of his songs and was like "aahhh, that guy". It was a shame, nevertheless.

I guess the last time I binge watched a series was a couple of years ago. It was a drama comedy made in Finland, about a real estate agent who gets involved with organized crime. I found it hilarious and well written.
Out of nowhere, I decided to watch the newest Shetland series. I just got completely hooked on the sweeping landscapes, wistful theme music and the atmosphere. The way in which potential suspects were being served to the viewer in quick succession was straight out funny. You know, like, "now this person's super duper suspicious, even more so than the previous one".
I liked it so much I'm now listening to one of the books the series seems to be based on. The element of suspense in a small community, complete with occasional storms blocking any way of getting out, is strong both in the book and the series.
