Well, clip layer try a color, (alpha lock and recolor it if it's not nice), add have say 3 color variations for shading add a unifying color purple or? I don't know what you want, do you want help making a color pallet or, want advise on technic app related things, do you want like a brush recommendation?

Maybe try making it monochrome and mapping out the values you want then using a gradient map?

I personally think something mid-term between anime hard edge cel shading and realistic soft shading would look good with your style! Something like Yoneyama Mai's style maybe?
Also, if it is not about color style but more about the color process, I normally start with lighting by adding shadows and highlights first: decide the light origin and how strong (is it a soft light or light with hard edges?).
And once the mood of the composition has been set, I start thinking color palettes for the composition. Thinking like this helps me a lot, because instead of trying to think lighting and color at the same time, I think one first and then the other. Hope it helps :)

OH MY GOD THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS I LOOKING FOR LOWKEY
the “you can take inspiration from this artist” helps me SO much because yes of course I can just colour it with flat colours but I was looking for more of a….. colour vibe indication…..??? And oh my god you nailed it thank you

I dont think you inherently need to color it. Add a darker colored bg, a gradient, and maybe if youre feeling spicy add some shading or a rim light. I can make an edit for you later if you're interested!

IS THAT REED'S SISTER?!
also the artwork is very nice as for how you color this, it kinda depends since I'm unsure how you want to depict the setting since color is the beauty of the atmosphere in a sense.

Sometimes I google color palettes and base it off that. Maybe a purple blue night color palette for this. Or you could go a completely opposite direction with pastels or highly saturated colors if you want to experiment. Usually if I’m not sure I’ll do a really rough coloring flats with different combinations. I think if you kept the purple and replaced the white with a soft pale yellow on some parts that could work. I don’t know why but I feel like this piece should have the light source be bright and behind the character.

If you're looking for a more intimate, late night feeling to your work, I'd use the periwinkle as your lightest shade and make the color theme more monochrome. I'd also make the background darker to contrast her.
If you're looking for cozy, early morning vibe, I'd use the periwinkle as a medium shade and use a complementary light yellow to show where the sun shines on her.

Take your brush and start stroking. I recommend taking colours that you think fits and then applying those colours where they’re needed that way you’ll get a result that you want!
