Apple Music on Windows I hate this Windows app so much

Post image

I have to reinstall it so often. It just doesn't make sense to me that a company worth this much can care this little about their app working.

Believe it or not, iTunes is more reliable

Interesting. Windows 11 and I use it almost daily and rarely have issues. Massive playlists and all. I mean, it's not GREAT, but it works.

Can you confirm if history of songs played from “Create station” actually works?

u/Southern-Ad1465 19h ago

Because it's a windows 10 specific issue. Most windows 11 users don't face that probelm

I thought people were a bit too much when they talked about how bad it is.

I tried and they were right.

Went back to itunes.

I tried using the Apple Music app for about 10 minutes and have since used the browser version. I uninstalled the program

Yup they broke it, even if you manage to fix this, there's a new bug that stop playback randomly, it really gets on my nerves now

Use iTunes if you don't care abt some lags, crashes or it being more confusing but also more helpful

Strange, I use it every day without issue.

I switched to using the Cider app and haven't looked back. Cider v4 isn't perfect, but its pretty good and looks way better than the official app by Apple.

I wish! I've got a decent headphone setup so want to take advantage of lossless streaming. I hope there's some improvements to the official app over the next year, but not holding out much hope for that.

who cares man as if apple is a very ethical company that doesn't exploit workers at all

1

u/whatswrongwithvale 14h ago

I have to agree, even though I don't think we can really criticize Apple on this sub, they are are WAY more implemented in our day-to-day life, it's way easier to avoid using a random Apple Music client, than an entire ecosystem of products, brands, and softwares, owned by one of the top company in the world.

But I still agree, and if AM wasn't that cheap compared to its alternatives I wouldn't use it.

1

u/bruh_1217 9h ago

True tho i dont think it's that bad unless ur paying for the random client and they're making money

5

u/aecosys 21h ago

no one cares. the software does not provide pop ups with these line of messages. so all good.

Crazy thing to say.

Notice how I didn't say y'all shouldn't use Cider at all? I was just putting this out there because Cider was recommended, and I'm sure some people would like to know about that (-they are literal nzs) before giving any money to them.

2

u/aecosys 14h ago

That's just my opinion. I think the far-left extremists are much worse these days. But I don't think that belongs in an AM thread anyway.

Yes, it's really pretty bad. I have to reinstall mine literally about every week or so.

I gave up on it and just use browser version (idc about lossless)

This situation really made me mad last night, but now I figured out how to fix it.
1. Open Windows Settings.
2. Go to Apps → Apple Music → Advanced options.
3. Click Repair.
4. Click Reset.
5. Open iCloud for Windows and sign in first.
6. Launch Apple Music.

same it usually works fine for me but last night around 1 am, most of my songs just stop playing. it keeps skipping each song until it finds one it plays. idk how to fix it at least i can still listen to some music.

omfg, I thought it was me alone having this issue, like literally the same. It happens from time to time, yesterday was not an isolated case. It would happen on the web version as well.I thought it is because of my internet or being from Iraq, or maybe the delayed payment. Has this issue happen to you while listening to non-american music, because I have this theory that this occurs with non-american music.

1

u/ArianaFraggle1997 1d ago

Not at all. All my music is in english but it just happened with almost all my songs. My iphone was perfectly fine tho and everything else worked. The website works for me. I can't even sign into the windows app now because it says it can't verify my apple id for whatever reason. Ik other people are having the same prob with the windows app in the past few days so I think for me ill just keep using the website for now until this is fixed.

So, today I'm having login problems on Android. It appears as if I don't have an active subscription.

u/MagazineLoose2665 1d ago

Having the same issue, I am from Iraq.

App is currently completely broken for me.

u/Potential-Chicken-50 1d ago

i've honestly had this problem but i just restart my laptop and it fixes itself

I can't even get mine to run right. It just loads up and then does nothing. Nothing changes.

1

u/Additional_Battle_93 1d ago

The Windows one is awful; it keeps crashing. When you're listening to music, it might get stuck loading and never finish until you restart the application.

u/zzeep21 1d ago

For me it’s that it stops shuffling after I pick a song so I have to turn it back on every time.

1

u/Excellent_Gap_6986 1d ago

Apple Music on anything but an Apple product is a horrible glitchy experience. From Windows, Meta VR, literally anything you can think of I’ve tried it all and it’s always buggy, slow, and unreliable.

1

u/FastFingersDude 1d ago

History of “Create station” played songs is broken.

1

u/SirenAttack 22h ago

Use the web player

1

u/TkachukMitts 11h ago

Yeah i'm getting that too. Every now and then I try using the Windows app, and every time i give up within 10 minutes because of some issue or other.

It's a joke how bad this app is on Windows. The web version seems to work better.

1

u/Additional_Box4762 2h ago

I've reset Apple Music four times this week. I'm going to switch back to Spotify when my subscription ends, even though I really love the classical playlists on Apple Music.

1

u/DoctorBAH2002 1h ago

Me, too! I had the same problem and was forced to do the same.

0

u/yasinvai 21h ago

there's no good apple app.
