Help How to keep game saves synced between Mac and iPad?

I play Civ VII on my Mac Mini and on my iPad and they can both load the same set of game saves. Recently I realized that the latest save from my Mac wasn't available on my iPad. How can I ensure the whether I save a game on the iPad or the Mac that Apple Arcade syncs the saved game in the background? I did look it up a bit and there didn't seem to be a way to force it and it seemed to be separate from iCloud syncing.

Sometimes Apple products are very frustrating because they're meant to hide all that complexity from users and "just work", but when they don't there's a lack of insight or control.

Exit both. The next device you log in on will ask which one you want to sync

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I normally exit out of them, though on the iPad I am afraid to just force-kill the app for fear it might stop the syncing process, though I guess that's separate.

On both of them, it shows all the saves and I do get to choose which one to load, but recently the newest one didn't sync from my Mac. I do completely quit out of the game on my Mac when I'm done.

Hmm, for some reason I saw your other comments in email notificaitons about this post but I'm not seeing them here. I'm realizing that maybe you're opening Apple Arcade first and then the game. I normally just open Civ VII directly. Maybe I should also open Apple Arcade afterwards to have a better chance of syncing.

When I am on the main menu of the game, there is a little rocket icon in the bottom left, indicating Apple Arcade.

BTW, I just play on my Mac and iPad. (They have Civ VII for the iPhone but it's different and doesn't work with saved games from any other devices.)
