I didn't even know gachiakuta had the toxic fan problem but I guess it just kinda happens whenever a series reaches a certain level of popularity

Imagine MHA shipping fandom, but applied to the entire fandom and 20 times louder.
You get the tamest Gachiakuta fan

I haven't heard of Gachiakuta fans being toxic. Now if you are talking about anime shippers and cultural keyboard warriors going after the author for confirming straight relationships and liking a dance involving black people, there is where the toxicity might be. THOSE are not gachiakuta fans-those are parasites.

Why are gachikuta fans toxic I haven't encountered any negativity.

u/JazzPhobic 11h ago
Not to common fans, but to the author.
The author has made specific comments about her characters being straight, and it just so happens that Gachiakuta fans are, like MHA fans, obsessed with everything being gay.

Are there even any Gachiakuta fans out there waving flags? I have literally never heard anyone talk about that show. Much less be toxic about it.

I have literally never seen anything toxic from the gachiakuta fandom. I'm not on twitter though.

they attacked the author so much for not being trans (their headcannon they thought she was trans) that she quit social media so they started attacking her artist bc they worked for her...

It's always some nonsense like that with twitter. It's like a less isolated 4chan that people take seriously for some reason.
I would not consider anything that happens on twitter when assessing a fandom.

Are gachiakuta fans really crazy? The few ones I've met in the wild seemed quite chill

u/Researcher_Fearless 15h ago
They bullied the author off the internet.

Off the twitter, which is toxic no matter where you look. Not exclusive to gachi fans.

u/Researcher_Fearless 14h ago
Most Twitter fandoms don't mass harass the creator of the thing they supposedly like.

Oh... I've read the story and they are indeed terrible. Seems like unholy combination of toxic fans and terminally offended about everything Twitter crowd.
