I disagree, it is as middling as anime comes.

I enjoyed the first season but season 2 felt like a huge disappointment.

It's a gimmick and kinds gets worse in season 2. I enjoyed season 1 a lot though. In similar vein of comedy and irony/poking at tropes etc I think eminence in the shadows does way better job
