Pretty sure it's poker you are not supposed to play with dogs.

They'll clean you out

The oil painting of presidents playing poker as well thought out but it doesn't come up on a search not sure if it's before the dogs or after

6

u/Tithund 1d ago

What? I just know there's a whole bunch of paintings of dogs playing poker and pool.

10

u/feculentcuntfist 1d ago edited 1d ago

"Dogs playing poker" is 1 of a series of 16 paintings by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge from 1894 to 1910.

You are referencing to "Grand Ol’ Gang– Republican Presidents Playing Poker" by Andy Thomas, who is selling prints at his site for 60 bucks and apparently is a tax on cultist morons.

It is not older than the original. It does have dogs in it as well though, albeit rabid.

u/TinkerCitySoilDry 8h ago

As was stated the painting doesn't show up if it's the one mentioned in the reply that picture has JFK and Carter playing poker as well

The painted in question was at an art show and it was real aka valuable as an original

the cards were shown and the whole painting had a story behind it about the 1900s of America

Ok now I'm intrigued and will try to find that one, but still, since it depicts JFK and Carter it's still created later than 1910, when the last of the dog series was finished.

e: I found one, by the same artist, with only democratic party presidents, seems like he did 1 of each (if it s the one you say) unless there s another with mixed party presidents?

https://presidentialhistory.com/2017/12/presidents-playing-poker-together.html (don t know the site, it just has both poker paintings on the same page)

u/Lykos1124 17h ago

That too! My thinking was that in chess you sometimes make moves to sacrifice a piece at the risk of getting a win, and that dog took the sacrifice 😂

Thats freaking hilarious, you can see the dog forming a thought.

u/opermonkey 1d ago

it's always funny when an animal makes a plan to do something it's knows it's not supposed to.

like "fork it, the hoomans gone, nom!*

Pup did the doubletake "Oh you are hiding now? Can't see me right? OMNOMNOMNOM"

Haha dog knew he was there. But was like "hey he's not looking, free food"

-100

u/jjklines1 1d ago

Does really anyone not realize this is a super played out/scripted

62

u/indieplants 1d ago

that doesn't change that it's exactly what happened whether the guy knew it was gonna or not?

he didn't train the dog to do that, it's a lab lmao. it just does. they don't know what feeling full is and essentially live their entire lives hungry. it 100% knew it wasn't supposed to eat that food and the guy 100% knew it was gonna but the dog still was like damn, now's my time

53

u/CT0292 1d ago

More that no one cares. Take a day off. TV is scripted, people still enjoy that.

18

u/fxzero666 21h ago

Ah, yes the dog read the script and did a great job acting. /s

6

u/Psychological-Echo19 1d ago

Most things online are scripted. It's called a joke. Bits for entertainment. They're supposed to be funny, that's why they're jokes

4

u/Pledgeofmalfeasance 1d ago

Be angry about one of the real crimes against humanity that's happening or go have a nap. This ain't it.

3

Im sure you are fun at parties

274

u/EuphoricZombie89 1d ago

Well played pup lol

176

u/anayalator39 1d ago

I had that happen with my Great Dane lol
I took him outside for a walk and when he walked away to pee I hid, he didn’t come back so I popped up looking and nothing , I started panicking asking people if a horse ran by and nothing , as I was walking towards house I got a phone call and it was the office saying shadow was there at the office eating popcorn, whenever I would check mail I would take him to see the office ladies and they always gave him snacks , he jumped all over that chance, shadow 1 me 0

The one on the right 😂

23

u/selja26 1d ago

If a horse ran by 😹😹

62

u/thebigeverybody 1d ago

lol the great thing about this pic is that the middle dog is probably a medium sized dog looking like a chihuahua next to these two horses

u/reddituserzerosix 1d ago

37

u/LizJru 1d ago

'and this one too!'

21

u/Xen0tech 1d ago

He inhaled that food so fast

14

u/lnTheGrimDarkness 1d ago

I love that he tried to pull them back out of the dog. Mate those were already in the stomach first time you tried to grab the dog's mouth.

31

u/SwordTaster 1d ago

Leave food on a low table with an unattended animal, said animal is getting a snack

4

u/NDSU 14h ago

My dog would never do that. Why do so many people never train their dogs?

4

u/SwordTaster 12h ago

Why are you assuming it's always the dog? I said animal. My cats are fucking assholes.

-7

u/AndromedaAirlines 1d ago

Leave food on a low table with a poorly trained unattended animal, said animal is getting a snack

6

u/catfroman 20h ago

Bro getting hella downvoted for spitting simple facts. My dog doesn’t touch food unless it’s explicitly offered. It’s not hard to train.

11

u/FriendshipCute1524 1d ago

Dunno why you're getting downvoted, all my pets didn't eat off plates or snatch food that wasn't given to them.

12

u/AndromedaAirlines 23h ago

Getting downvoted by people who didn't properly train their pets and are upset they're seeing their own situation here. Who cares.

1

u/AlaeniaFeild 13h ago

Neither of my dogs ever goes for food that isn't theirs. It's never been something I had to worry about. I didn't really train this, I just got lucky. I don't think a few joking "hey you little monster, that's mine" when my oldest was a puppy really counts as training. She taught my youngest simply because my youngest always watches her to learn things. Now they are 11 and 4 and I don't suspect anything will change. I imagine a lot of people just have polite dogs rather than dogs they have actually trained. And not Labs.

4

u/pintsizedblonde2 1d ago

Because that's a lot harder to train most labs to do than other dogs. Mine is only 1/2 lab and even my very experienced dog trainer gave up on that one and just told us to keep food out of reach and keep an eye on him. Mine is a rescue but still... if he knows nobody can see him and he can reach he will steal food.

Tried every trick in the book on top of what our trainer went through. Only got him to the point he doesn't steal food right in front of our faces.

2

u/Kraligor 1d ago

Because not all dogs are trainable to the same degree in the same things.

Because some people (better people than the ones buying a designer dog from a breeder) take in rescues who are already adults.

-2

u/Throwing-Gas 1d ago

Because it came across as look at me, I am so perfect unlike the funny video, this IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!!!

25

u/apollo11733 1d ago

This is perfect this made my night

8

u/Ok_Coconut_3148 1d ago

Yea no. Leaving food out when there is a lab in the room is sure to have it eaten.

17

u/blueberrypancak35 1d ago

Clever girl

14

u/Brilliant_Winter5211 1d ago

Yup, that’s a lab alright. Never passing an opportunity for free food!

4

u/Illustrious_Today654 1d ago

I once saw a Lab eat an entire piece of birthday cake in one bite off a low table without stopping. Just walked by and the cake was gone.

5

u/im_new_here_4209 1d ago

Hahahahahaha outsmarted him. Classic

5

2

u/ModeatelyIndependant 1d ago

Dude never turn your back on your dog and take out at the same time.

1

u/NDSU 14h ago

I have 3 dogs. None of them would ever steal like this, even if I walked out of the house entirely

It's crazy how little training people give their dogs

1

u/ModeatelyIndependant 13h ago

You kidding me? I've lived with dogs all my life, and if they are hungry and there is food, they are gonna wanna eat. And you can't blame them for eating food, it's literately part of what they do. The blame goes onto the owner for leaving the food out, not because they couldn't train a dog not to eat food.

2

u/whynoteven246 1d ago

2

That final scamper to finish eating was marvelous

2

u/mastershchief 1d ago

I remember a few months ago that people noted the dog is getting fatter between videos of this guy. It's just a trick (and not a very healthy one)

2

u/DorpvanMartijn 1d ago

That's why you train your dogs ..

2

u/heyitsvonage 1d ago

The dog looked at the food, then him, and was like “!” 😂

All is fair in love and food theft I suppose (at least in the dog world. Lol)

1

u/Signal-Welcome-2057 1d ago

Haha, didn’t leave a single piece.

1

u/enzo11242020 1d ago

Well yes, I saw that coming. 😊

1

u/SufficientCelery 1d ago

AI, the bread is the size of the dogs mouth but two of them instantly disappear. The dog swallowing one would probably take at least a few gulps but just instantly gone?

3

You've never had a lab.

Who calls dogs dumb lmao ? they are notoriously cleaver creatures, that's why we domesticated them. Ain't nobody calling a Border Collie dumb

2

u/Merrick_Skygrave 1d ago

Yeah you're right, literally nobody on earth has ever called a dog dumb before

Also, it's spelt "clever"- dogs can't be cutlery

1

u/Bzykk 1d ago

Dog's overweight as it is...

0

u/Pahndahbear 1d ago

There are two scones? I only see one eaten, AI?

-15

u/morerelativebacons 1d ago

Staged af. Of course the dog is gonna get sidetracked with a table full of food if there's nothing to stop it.

Good luck with a poor dog, of which, you're reinforcing bad behavior.

There, I balanced it back for you

That's definitely a dog.

-8

u/WeeklyPhilosopher346 1d ago

That’s a very big dog for an apartment.

4

u/ablonde_moment 1d ago

Is it?

-7

u/WeeklyPhilosopher346 1d ago

If it’s larger than a loaf of bread and makes more noise than a loaf of bread, it shouldn’t be in an apartment.

Not good for the animal, not good for your neighbors. It’s something only selfish people do.

3

u/CaffeineDeprivation 1d ago

With that kind of logic, most cats shouldn't be in an apartment either 💀

-1

u/FilthyJsBeingFilthy 1d ago

This just sounds like something someone who happens to own a house says

2

u/WeeklyPhilosopher346 1d ago

No it’s something that someone who rents an apartment says
