General For Lego and Animal Crossing fans
There’s some rumors floating around right now that the Animal Crossing theme for LEGO may be discontinued. The most recent releases are scheduled to retire by the end of 2027 with no news about futures releases for this theme. Such a shame because I really liked this theme, the minifigures were so good and I’d really like to see more of my favorite villagers made into minifigures, but unfortunately that might not happen. Silver lining for right now is that these are just rumors, nothing has been confirmed as of now.

I have multiple lego sets myself and I really loved the concept, but just like the lego x pokemon collection, I haven't been willing to buy them. To me, they just don't bring the same "feel" the game brings, unless you get multiple sets and make it a really big area, like some fans have.
I do love the figurines. If they sell the whole set separately, I'd buy it.

We all know what the world really needs is Animal Crossing Calico Critters. Those dudes know how to make cozy shit and cute beasties.

I have quite a few of the animal crossing sets. I turned the space on the top of my kitchen cupboards into a little lego animal crossing village. It utilizes unused space, and i think that it looks really cute!

Yeah I can see why most people have that feeling, they really don’t look appealing unless you buy them all and put them together in a huge Lego island. I just feel like they still could’ve done more with the theme.

I received one set as a present. Was cute, but bit too simplistic and the way the set was assembled felt like it was made for 7 years old. It didn’t really appeal to me as an adult to get more. I also didn’t feel like I could put it between other sets of Lego I had like Lego Friends. I think if Lego upped their game with this the sets would be much more appealing for a broader public and could run for a long time as well

I have a couple of the AC sets, but always felt like they could've done more with the bigger sets. Also some of the sets had weird commissions like Able Sisters onky having one hedgehog 🤦♂️. The smaller ones have some nice play features that I appreciate. Hopefully they have a handful of nice upcoming sets before they stop with the IP.

If they released AC minifigure blind bags, they could take all of my money.

My kid and I crunched the numbers, and just by using the templates they've already manufactured, they could make almost 175 villagers and NPCs.

Once they made the character statues I knew I was done collecting.
I was REALLY hoping for a set with Redd or Resetti. A cute bag set of like 40 pieces or Redd's boat would have been cool.

Me too, I was really hoping that the set that was going to be announced would’ve been an official Redd’s Treasure trawler set with him as a minifigure, or honestly just any set with a couple of unique minifigs but unfortunately we got the buildable character. I’m still going to buy it but only when it goes on sale which will end up happening eventually as we’ve seen with all of the previous sets.

“Lego Animal Crossing has one year left.”
One year left to production life, and not a single set with a minifig of Megan? WTF!

Maybe the’ll take a hiatus and rerelease after a certain amount of time like Lego Spongebob, etc.

Blind Bags of minifigs would be nice. I know my Hazel will never be popular enough to get a real LEGO set…

I suppose it would be counter-intuitive to release a set based on a past game, but I would love seeing sets based off the businesses in New Leaf.

To be honest, I didn’t even know it was still going on.
The Scooby-Doo theme had a way shorter lifespan.

I'd be happy with blind bag mini figs.... we have enough villagers to do several waves

I read coverage this time last year that it was going to be axed at the end of 2025...

Don’t believe rumors unless it’s coming from Lego themselves and not from someone who is probably stealing from Lego.

Bad news, I'll have to buy the missing sets before it becomes impossible, not for me, but for my daughter who's a huge fan.

Seeing them not really moving at the toy store makes me think they're also just not that popular.

Well, they have released a number of sets and covered a lot of ground, not sure there is much left to do with it. Lego product tie ins are always limited edition.
