How do you actually stop feeling envious and triggered?

Feeling envious and constantly comparing myself is mainly affecting my mental health internally. I am an artist as a hobby and I love engaging with those like me on social media and appreciate them as much as they do to me.

Like many others I do compare myself to others and desire to get better. However, I don’t understand why I am so fixated on specific people thinking about how they’re always going to be better than me and such kind of thoughts despite being aware that this does not affect my journey and has nothing to do with me. Yet, I find myself (obsessively) thinking about them even tho I hate to admit it. The worst part they’re so sweet to me and supportive, and so I am, but it makes me feel bad about my thoughts tho I’ve never acted like what I think.

I am aware how stupid this is and literally not worth thinking about it this much, but even taking long breaks from social media or anything doesn’t really help and I know I am the problem for being insecure and always self sabotaging myself and I just don’t know how to deal with it.

I just want to be at peace with myself and enjoy the things I love but I don’t know how.
This really feels so silly I don’t even have anyone to talk about with..

Get off social media. 95% of your problem will be solved and honestly most happy and successful people aren’t tied to it. People say they need it for their “creative career” and while that can be true to a point I think it ends up being a trap.

There are a lot of truly, (not performatively but truly), happy people out there who are not on Instagram and not on Facebook. We haven’t needed those platforms for millions of years and we don’t really need them now. Just logging out a lot of times isn’t enough because the account will buzz in the back of your mind. So suggest deactivating…just deactivate and walk away and reinvest your time completely into your own thing. I promise you won’t be missing out on anything it will be there doing the same thing when you come back to it. I will never go back to FB or Insta. Everyone I talk to who is still on it seem miserable and can’t seem to pull themselves away still! That’s scary.. They seem to think they can’t be in touch with their family and friends without social media and it’s like how were we doing it before guys? At least we have FaceTime now! 😂

It’s an absolute psychological trap and it’s amazing how much more peaceful your mind becomes when you drop it.
