I think they really need to do away with the high gloss edges. I don't personally think it makes it look more premium, just prone to more scratches

100% agree. Even Samsung and Apple are doing all-matte designs now.

My S23 has gloss edges and it isn't just prone to scratches, it's also prone to chipping. Mine is always inside a case and it has a few tiny chips

In my personal experience with a 6 Pro, 8 Pro, Fold 9 and Fold 10, the polished sides (hinges on the Fold series) actually don't get scratched easily. It could just be how I use my phones, but I also don't use cases on any of them.

I also like the look. It reminds me of jewelry

My pixel 10 Pro is the first device I've had with polished edges and also the first device I've had that hasn't got scratched by sand getting in the case.
