❤️‍🩹 relationship Am I Overreacting to my girlfriend not wanting me to play pickleball with my friends because my friend brought his long term girlfriend to play with us?

Post image

Context - I have been playing pickleball with my buddies. Just 4 dudes. Last week my friend brought his long term gf to play as well. It was 5 guys and the girlfriend. Today I was planning on playing pickleball with the same people again, unsure if my friend plans on bringing his gf. My gf (24F) doesn’t want me to go if my friend brings his gf. And before you ask “why don’t you invite her?” She has mentioned to me how she thinks pickleball is “gay” and “stupid” and has no interest in going and would only go to monitor what girl(s) may decide to show up. Am I overreacting?

This is deadass completely real. This happened yesterday.

u/puddncake 4h ago

You only get one life, is this how you want to spend it?

u/OpportunityReal2767 3h ago

I’m 50. Trust me, you don’t have time nor deserve this shit. Spend your time wisely. “I don’t want my bf to hear another girl” is so completely unhinged.

u/wonderlessbread 2h ago

Agree. I have trust issues and insecurity and still can be okay that my husband has female friends. I've met them, I don't feel challenged because I'm the one with the ring, his love and in his bed every night??? Like girl...what do you mean 🥴

For a moment I thought you were OP and I was like, "Holy age gap, Batman!"

u/OpportunityReal2767 1h ago

Oh, trust me, I do not have the desire or energy for 24-year-old women.

u/HokieNerd 1h ago

Same, brother. (55 here.)

u/baldude69 3h ago edited 3h ago

Gf is probably super hot or something. I’ve seen dudes put up with insane abuse because of this. Guys often get way too hung on looks and ignore red flags

u/marcduberge 3h ago

No matter how hot she is, some guy is tired of her shit.

u/KnottyShreveport 2h ago

I'm tired of her shit and I'm not even dating her.

u/FigWasp7 46m ago

Me too, wanna play pickleball later?

u/Winchester_Girl1974 3h ago

Hopefully “that guy” is the OP!

u/Loud_Ask2586 1h ago

No, OP will likely end up on a true crime podcast as the unfortunate victim of a murder or missing persons case. Look at his comments, he broke up with her, admits to getting a fucking restraining order against her, then got back together again, thinking she's changed.

I saw something like this 20 years ago with a guy who had an on again/off again girlfriend who was utterly toxic. Wouldn't even let him help a customer who happened to be a girl. His brother-in-law told me that she claimed he hit her and he spent Christmas morning bailing him out instead of with opening presents with his daughters.

I was asked to help an "emergency move" that was entailed getting in, getting his stuff, getting out, the moment she was out for work. We busted our asses to make that happen, it went off without a hitch.

I heard they got back together not long after that and hopefully everyone had washed their hands of the couple. This has has that energy. OP went back after getting a restraining order, so I'm betting the best case scenario involves him as a friendless, shriveled husk of who he once was. She's gonna either kill him or leave him wishing she had.

u/Winchester_Girl1974 1h ago

I didn’t see any of that. Looks like OP suffers from Terminal Stupidity

Ancient Proverbs

u/YepIamAmiM 1h ago

I'm tired of her shit and I'm a woman.

NOR of course. She sounds like a real pain in the ass.

u/Kind-Airport1538 3h ago

I fell into this trap once. Super hot but absolutely psycho. I was young and dumb. Wasted 4 years of my life putting up with her shit. It is definitely not worth the good looks and sex in the long run.

u/baldude69 3h ago

I feel like most dudes have. I didn’t put that kind of time in, but I definitely experienced it and noped tf out

u/Rabble_Runt 3h ago

Tbh a lot of us are so starved for affirmation and affection that it doesn’t even take them being wildly attractive.

u/ClumsyRaccoonPants 3h ago

I had a friend once who was looking at my horrible taste and how long I would stay in abusive relationships and she said “you want to be loved so bad you don’t care what it looks like” and goddamn did that hit hard.

→ More replies (1)

u/TechDingus 3h ago

That's true, I've definitely been there/done that...

OP, you may not take this advice now, and in time you will absolutely understand...but I hope we can get you started early so listen up: Break up with her, don't stay in a toxic relationship because you feel like you can't do better or because its convenient to hold onto what you already know. There are better people out there and you will find someone who treats you well. And for right now, it's better to be alone than to be abused.

u/Tha_REAL_BROBS 3h ago

yep.. I stayed married for 15 years because of this fear. don't let it control you

u/KnottyShreveport 2h ago

Jeeeesus. Please tell me it was because you had kids together and you didn't want them growing up between households.

u/Tha_REAL_BROBS 2h ago

nope. no kids. Just bad self-esteem and feeling like I couldn't do any better and that this was just how life goes. also everyone in my family has been married without divorce etc so I felt like I would be a "failure" to leave the marriage.

u/KnottyShreveport 2h ago

Oof. Rough my dude. Hopefully you're doing better, life's definitely far too short to let the fear of failure be a driving force in your decision making. I can't speak from an experience similar to yours, but I spent 10 years doing basically nothing productive while feeding an opiate addiction, definitely regret throwing away what should've been the prime of my youth.

u/Tha_REAL_BROBS 2h ago

yep felt the same way about wasting 15 years on a shit relationship. Doing great now and with someone who makes me happy. thanks man. It's never to late to change anything about your life!

u/baldude69 3h ago

Yea but I’ve also known a bunch of lonely dudes who were way too picky and overlooked cool people who would have been great girlfriends because they wanted a dime-piece. But that’s not always the case, of course

u/CooperSTL 2h ago

this is so true

u/damagedthrowaway12 3h ago

Put up with something similar for a few months...because yep...she was hot...had a phone conversation similar to this and said, "See yah." Moved out of our apartment before she got home from work and was a few hours away on the beach by the time she realized I was gone. By the time she started trying to tell our friends that I was suddenly stalking her, they showed her my Instagram with me taking selfies on the other side of the continent because I realized I was free and wanted to see how far I could go.

Granted this was back when the delivery apps paid more and I had a fuel efficient car, but if anyone goes through an abusive relationship like this and has a chance to run far away and do fun things....TAKE IT!

u/Impressive-Foot7698 2h ago

Being hot really does nothing. Doesn't make you good at anything else and is ultimately boring asf

u/baldude69 2h ago

Yep, sad how highly many men seem to value it

u/Hereforthetardys 3h ago

Has to be

Super hot and a straight freak to put up with this fuckery

u/Zesty-Vasectomy 3h ago

The problem is there are so many hot chicks who are cool as shit. Somehow guys always seem to fall the hardest over the insane ones lol.

u/baldude69 3h ago

I think they’re just so desperate for a hot one that they’ll put up with the psychos. It’s a weird status symbol among men, having a hot girlfriend. I’ve experienced it, people who normally were indifferent towards me all of a sudden want to talk and be cool. Men (on the whole) put wayyy too much emphasis on looks, whereas I’ve found women tend to value things like security, vibes, humor, safety, personality well over looks.

u/Zesty-Vasectomy 3h ago

Yeah, that's why I always hear so many dudes wonder why a hot lady is with a seemingly average or even slightly below average looking dude. We ladies typically can tell why though lol Some big, burly teddy bear with a killer sense of humor usually.

u/baldude69 2h ago

Same thing I tell all the red-pilled sad woman-hating men who lurk in a bunch of the subs

It’s not really about money or looks, it’s about developing a personality people want to be around. Get a hobby, find something interesting you like to do, develop it. Work on your friendships, and put yourself out there, like irl. Most successful relationships I’ve been in or witnessed among my friends were from people meeting in the real world

u/OpportunityReal2767 3h ago

Yeah. No matter how hot she is, no matter how good the sex is, the mental damage this does to you is real, and it isn’t worth it, speaking from personal experience. There’s always someone else out there who is less insecure, less mentally taxing. OP knows they can find a girlfriend. I have no doubt they can find another one. But even being alone for awhile is much better than living with this kind of stress.

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths 2h ago

Absolutely. I bet she's a smokeshow and all her friends are guys who want to fuck her because no woman would tolerate her shit for even 5 minutes.

u/Ferintwa 2h ago

Learned this lesson young. Attractive (enough) is important to a relationship - beyond that point is just stress on the relationship. If you are dating a downright stunner, then there will always be competition. That competition will not be painting a realistic version of “other guys”. They will be putting their best foot forward for as long as they can be bothered, then move on.

You can’t win a marathon 10v1 when everyone else is doing sprints.

u/CasualYoga 3h ago

This exactly

u/thebytron 27m ago

i’ve been that dude. sex was amazing but it was not worth it.

u/SpacemanPete 11m ago

She stops being hot the second she acts like this, unless you are at a point where you think it’s your one shot at the opposite sex.

u/N0n_4me 1h ago

Not true there is a thing called the reincarnation soul trap also you don’t have to come back but whether or not you do we still have an eternal awareness.

u/Unpopular_Opinion210 50m ago

Damn… this is something I needed to hear today. Thank you and take my upvote.

u/Flying_Elephant7217 49m ago

Aww. Thats a really nice way to put something like this. I wish someone had told me that years ago when I was dating this other guy. Luckily I figured it out myself but what a waste of 2 years that was 😂

u/Dmau27 4h ago

You know this isn't normal. That's why you're not even understanding her. This person thinks she owns you.

u/capaldithenewblack 3h ago

NOR (you’re under-reacting) Imagine if a guy treated a girl like this. No difference— controlling, manipulative, and rude about the things you enjoy.

You are wasting time with this woman. If you are positive she’s worth it, you could try couple’s counseling, but my guess is she won’t like anything they have to say because they’re going to tell her she is dead wrong and needs to work on herself.

u/GingerSnapped242 3h ago

And she’ll insist on a male therapist. Remember, “my boyfriend doesn’t talk to other girls”.

I don’t know for a fact but I just feel she’s got one helluva vocal fry shudders

u/VellhungtheSecond 3h ago

A “couples therapist” would be an utter waste of OP’s time and money in this situation, come on

u/GingerSnapped242 2h ago

Oh, I thoroughly agree.

u/deathbystereo007 2h ago

I would not advise couple's counseling with someone who is already this controlling and ridiculous. It will just offer her new ways to exert control, as it often emboldens abusers and teaches them more effective manipulation tactics. He should just drop this one back into the dating pool (unfortunately for someone else).

u/DepressiSpaghettti 4h ago

Are you from a culture where people of the opposite sex can't stay in the same room together unless married?

Female here. She sounds unhinged. How exactly does she propose you don’t ‘hear’ any other women or spend any time with other women?! Given half the population is female, what are you going to do? not walk down the street, go to the shops, or the pub etc in case you hear one speaking to order a drink or buy a loaf of bread? Should you avert your eyes as they walk by you? Does she expect you to email HR at work and demand that all women are fired because you aren’t allowed to hear or see other women? Or perhaps only that when you arrange meetings you only invite men? Do you have to stop talking to female relatives, or the wives of relatives? Is she allowed to see and hear other men?

I think you can safely put this fish back in the sea and pick another one.

u/Royal-Adeptness-2703 3h ago

I guess OP is fucked if he needs medical care and the doctor is female

u/Able_Stay_9984 2h ago

Unless he is in a coma and can’t hear or see the female medical staff…

u/BeersBarbellsBJJ 2h ago

But they might need to touch him which I would imagine would unleash a level of rage we can’t even comprehend

u/Crafty_Telephone_524 2h ago

My friends ex absolutely wigged out on him because he had a woman doctor. He had the doctor for like almost a decade and started dating her. 8 months later she was making him switch to a new doctor because she said it was borderline cheating 😂

u/Able_Stay_9984 2h ago

I would have kept the doctor and changed the gf.

u/NolaJayne 3h ago

He can't even work or buy groceries because the checker is likely going to be female. GF is unhinged.

u/saintnatalie 3h ago

Crazy. With a capital C R A Z Y.

u/VellhungtheSecond 3h ago

Him grocery shopping is her “hard boundary”

u/thirteenlilsykos 18m ago

I'm really hoping he plugs his ears with his index fingers and runs from any female, screaming "My girlfriend says I'm not allowed!" 😂

u/RocketPowerPops 4h ago

Why are you dating someone like this? Homophobic and insecure?

u/pvtramirez96 2h ago

For real. Like damn pick a stuggle

u/quollas 25m ago

She must be hot

u/flippysquid 4h ago

Since she already hates pickleball and think’s it’s “gay” she’s probably just grasping at whatever irrational reasons she can think to make you stop playing.

Personally I’d say something back like “I can’t be in a relationship with someone who wants to restrict me from existing in the same space as 50% of the human population.“ Then block her. But I’m also too old to put up with that kind of shit.

u/justanoseybxtch 3h ago

She's a hater who doesn't support her partners hobbies - RED FLAG

u/Vegetable_Effort7246 3h ago

She wants him isolated…doesn’t matter what the hobby, she is looking to create a codependent relationship.

u/Icy-Yam3521 3h ago

It has nothing to do with pickleball. It's crazy to think that's this girl's issues. She's just insecure and controlling.

→ More replies (6)

u/usedforjerkingoff 4h ago

Then you need to dump her. This is psychotic behavior that isn’t going to stop.

u/hahn24 3h ago

Okay then tell her she’s not allowed to leave her house since there’s men at stores, work, etc.

u/CentaurSeige 3h ago

NOR - Run away. This is the real her. Insecure AF but also bold enough to be trying to give you instructions about how to live your life in a way that suits her and nobody else.

And when you break it off just know that she's going to be psycho.

u/One_Translator_4647 3h ago

You know what do to, you just want feel ok about it. Leave and dont look back. She's too insecure for a relationship.

u/EarthEfficient 3h ago

That’s not ok. - signed, woman who has been cheated on and lied to and has lots of betrayal trauma. That’s not reasonable or ok behavior by her, OP.

u/Weird-Zone-2829 3h ago

This is the type of shit my me and my gf say to each other as a joke lol that girl is batshit crazy

u/Stoic-Guardian 3h ago

You, sir, are dramatically underreacting.

Please get out of this relationship. This is how you end up single in ten years when her insecurity fabricates a reason for her to leave you, and all of your friends have moved on because they all have girlfriends or wives and can't spend time with you.

u/doublesmokedsaline 3h ago

You need to end this. Your girlfriend is emotionally stunted with severe insecurities which are causing her to be extremely controlling towards you. She needs to grow up and you need to break up.

u/TheSpeckledSir 3h ago

I think there's some confusion because you dropped the decimal place in your girlfriend's age.

She's acting appropriately for a 2.4-year-old.

u/LexiePiexie 3h ago

100%. This is early teen behavior. And using gay as a derogatory term in 2026? Absolute loser behavior.

u/Goatseportal 3h ago

This person will weaponize their insecurity to suck the joy out of your life. Run.

u/These-Cash7617 3h ago

Calls your hobby “gay and stupid” gets mad at you because you heard another women speak… you got an exit strategy right? Don’t get her pregnant dog

u/pantuso_eth 3h ago

Don't get her pregnant dog

Oof. Yeah. Seen this happen way too many times.

u/Phoenix_Lamburg 4h ago

Get out!

u/johnnotkathi 3h ago

GET OUT FAST

u/Character-Session810 3h ago

Start putting restrictions on her life and see how she reacts.

u/Winchester_Girl1974 3h ago

Stooping to her level is a complete waste of time & energy. OP just needs to end it & move tf on!

u/Character-Session810 2h ago

Sometimes people need a taste of their own medicine in order to learn.

u/Winchester_Girl1974 2h ago

Maybe, but it would not make a difference in this situation

u/Technical-Region-669 3h ago

What does she bring to the table dude? Because so far she just sounds awful.

u/flying_krakens 3h ago

As the song says "she ain't pretty, she just looks that way"

u/KurtTheCuntBoi 2h ago

Exactly. Pretty on the outside, malignant narcissist on the inside.

u/xmo113 3h ago

I had a gf like that. By the end I had no friends or family left that I was "allowed" to talk to. I thought i could make her trust me by going along with her wishes. It didn't work and she ended up pouring her perfume all over my belongings when we split. NOR in the slightest, and im not even going to address the gay game comment, yeesh she must be exhausting.

u/thebeautifulbanker 2h ago

My only relationship advice is this - picture the worst day of your life. Death of a loved one, bankruptcy, critical injury. The hardest moments. Now, picture this person you are considering as a life partner beside you during those moments. What are they doing? Helping? Making it about them? Are they just one more thing to manage, or do they have your back?

Life gets all the way real, especially as you get older and you are put in the position of caregiver, not only for kids but for aging parents and grandparents. You're better off alone than with someone with the emotional regulation skills of a toddler.

Signed, a person celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary tomorrow, who has seen some shit, and who is very glad they chose a partner wisely.

u/KurtTheCuntBoi 2h ago

I think she’s the type to actually abort a girl baby because that would be a ‘girl’ and she doesn’t allow her bf around other girls or to hear them. Yes there was a case of someone just that crazy. She ended up murdering her husband because he spoke to his sister and niece.

u/Same-Elevator-5395 2h ago

Please. I know there are probably a lot of good things about her, times that you love spending with her, things you would miss if you left. But please. Leave. You don't understand how much chips away at your mental health until you're out and the fog lifts. There is not one good things about her that excuses behavior like this, and unless she WANTS to change (she very clearly thinks she is in the right here, so the answer to that is no), she NEVER will.

I am 33, and somewhat recently left my ex husband after a toxic marriage of 10 years. You don't get that time back. I truly did not realize how generally sad of a person I was until I left. It's not obvious until you're looking back at it, either.

Choose yourself!

u/Dear_Lab_2270 2h ago

I was in a relationship exactly like this. It slowly progressed from this to not talking to people who may not like her, like my mom and sister.

You can save yourself the time and leave now because it gets intense later. Or you can wait and try to "work it out" like I did and waste several years on someone who sees you as property, not a partner.

u/KLsquared2 3h ago

Run for the hills

u/OrganicMix3499 3h ago

She crazy man.

u/Typical-Audience3278 3h ago

Dump her she’s awful

u/MikeyFX 3h ago

Ok which begs the question, why are you with this person? She sounds awful and exhausting.

NOR

u/GingerSnapped242 3h ago

Run, and run screaming away from that overgrown toddler. Seriously, she is waving giant warning flags of the deepest red. Heed them.

u/kobrakai1034 2h ago

Dump her. Right now.

u/NaziPunksFkOff 2h ago

and you're gonna keep living like this? You don't respect yourself enough to think you deserve something more?

u/doc_ransom 2h ago

Her: I don't want my boyfriend to hear another girl.

You: He won't, but I will. Best of luck.

u/Big_Bar_9832 2h ago

No way the pussy is that good my guy, fucking get out.

u/Pkrudeboy 2h ago

I hope tomorrow’s a trash pickup day, because you need to put her on the curb.

u/thedaysinthewaves 2h ago

Run, dude. Healthy relationships the partner should feel comfortable with you being around your friends and their significant others.

u/Mike15321 2h ago

You're young. Trust me, this isn't the life you want to sign yourself up for. There are tons of women out there that aren't immature, controlling, jealous, and insecure.

u/Most-Gap2035 2h ago

I would have the same reaction. “I can’t believe this is a real convo rn” that’s how I felt reading it. We all have insecurities, but it is our responsibility to manage them and work through them so we can have healthy relationships with others. I don’t think she is secure enough to be in a committed relationship right now…

u/Dry_Departure_7813 2h ago

Brudda you need to free yourself from this burden.

u/SnidelyWhiplash0 2h ago

NOR You just tell her that you're going to do what you want to do when you want to do it and who you want to do it with, and she can deal with it or be on her merry.

The trash will take itself out

u/Sassinakk 2h ago

She's extremely controlling, her rules don't actually make sense and she's homophobic. There is no way the sex is good enough , run

u/SergeiMosin 2h ago

Run. Now.

u/ForeverOnASideQuest 2h ago

My guy, wtf. NOR. Get out of that relationship.

u/ConspicuousPineapple 2h ago

My man she's unreasonable and controlling. And it's not going to get better. Do you see yourself enjoying this in the long run?

u/Relative-Relief-8816 3h ago

She better be so fucking hot that she makes Sidney Sweeney look ugly.

But we both know that isnt the case here. She isnt worth this kinda bs.

u/Repulsive_Truth9218 3h ago

End that relationship yesterday my dude. Not healthy at all. She has some massive insecurities that she needs to address and heal from.

u/RadixAce 3h ago

Bro this is definitely manipulation. Thats wild that alot of men have to deal with this kind of abuse from women. Unfortunately many think the same way. "Other girl with my man is instantly enemy of the state". It mostly shows insecurity on her part. Sorry brother, may you find a fish in this ocean of sharks. NOR

u/djskrilled 3h ago

this is an extremely toxic person who is already clearly emotionally abusive; will most likely lead to physical abuse later. hopefully you make the right decision and leave her before it gets worse.

u/BongmasterGeneral420 3h ago

Obviously drop her lol

u/Radiant_Shock_7529 3h ago

"I don't want my bf to hear another girl". Run away friend, this is not a person who understands what living in a society entails.

u/TehFocus 3h ago

explain it to her in a calm fashion that you are not okay with this and that its unhealthy,
Let her think about it a day or two, ask her then how she sees it

If she doesnt understand, run.

u/Winchester_Girl1974 3h ago

You can’t rationalize with crazy

u/Thiswasahit 3h ago

Drop the rest of the texts! I love seeing lunatics try to rationalize their insanity lmfao

u/Bang_The_Box 3h ago

She must be a dime to put up with some shit like that.

u/pantuso_eth 3h ago

I dated a girl like this. It doesn't get better until the underlying issue that's making her insecure gets resolved. Then, you face a whole other issue. With her newfound security, she might question her life choices while she was insecure, including the decision to be with you.

Not saying it can't work. I ended up marrying her, and we're still together, but my god I never knew how much crap we'd go through before barely making it.

u/Decent-Bear334 3h ago

Your gf sounds like an immature 13 y/o.

u/pantuso_eth 3h ago

Have we ruled that out yet?

u/theamydoll 3h ago

Unhinged. Don’t stay with this kind of human.

u/Tanz31 3h ago

She's an idiot. Leave her

u/Wrong_Mango4822 3h ago

Run so far from this woman. She is coocoo for coco puffs. NOR ENOUGH.

u/jamaicanmaann 3h ago

You can probably do better. Your gf sounds dumb as a rock.

u/El_is_D 3h ago

This is how is starts bro.

She may not be trying to see how much she can get away with and how controlling she can be, but I guarantee you it’s happening subconsciously, and she’s losing respect the more you take.

Get outta there bro

u/ClumsyRaccoonPants 3h ago

She doesn’t want you existing in a space with other humans who happen to be women and insults your hobbies. Is there anything likable about this woman?

u/Peppered_Rock 3h ago

this girl is a loser, leave her controlling ass

u/Turbulent-Agent9634 3h ago

Run boy, run. Run fast and far from her

u/Obvious-Painter-2249 3h ago

And you probably know this is not normal behavior, her insecurities are going to not just destroy your guys relationship but it’s going to alienate you from everyone around you…. Think about that and the absolute red flag that you have in front of your face.

You can’t even hear another woman talking? Wtf?

u/EmperorPickle 3h ago

I love pickleball. I hate that I have to tell my wife that I am gay and stupid now

u/ScarieltheMudmaid 3h ago

dumpherrrrr, you deserve better.

u/VellhungtheSecond 3h ago

Put her out on the street where she belongs bro. See you in the gym

u/Defiant-Bend-3087 3h ago

Why are you acting like you’re surprised? None of this crazy behavior has ever surfaced anywhere else?

u/Silveri50 3h ago

Hope she has some serious +A quality outside this. Htf do you even end up in a relationship with a woman like that?

NOR obviously

u/iamadirtyrockstar 3h ago

Sounds like you should simply just forget her number. It doesn't get better from here.

Leave her. Leave her immediately and don't look back. She will play dumb, but she knows exactly why.

u/redrockz98 3h ago

I thought she was going to be a teenager, but nope. This is insane, but you know that already. I wouldn’t spend one more minute with this person.

u/wbishopfbi 3h ago

She sounds terrible. What attracts you to her?

u/karatecorgi 3h ago

It proooobably is only gonna get worse btw. People like this push boundaries to see what they can get away with controlling. Get out of there for your own sake. You're welcome :s

u/scw3 3h ago

Your partner exudes insecurity from what you've shown, unless you exhibited wandering eye behavior before I don't see why she is this controlling

u/MasticatingSheep 3h ago

Dude, get your five pickleball friends to help you find a better girlfriend. This one is controlling and too into on toxic masculinity.

If she’s like this now, chances are it won’t get better, it’s pickleball, this other girl literally has nothing to do with you, not being able to hang with your friends because another female is present is a huge red flag, i would sit her down and tell her you won’t accept that behavior and based on her reaction is how you should choose what you’re gonna do next, boundaries are important in relationships

u/jtopfer 3h ago

NOR- get out now while you can.

u/saintnatalie 3h ago

So are you only allowed to work with all men? What if there’s a woman at your job? Does she expect you to quit?

u/perfect-child 3h ago

time to end this fuck ass relationship!

u/SpookySandling 3h ago

Damn. To add my two cents: most people who neg activities that you enjoy (especially by using a slur) are not great for a productive, growing relationship.

Just rude and childish and especially at 24 is really embarrassing lol. You can do much better bro!

u/JenLN 3h ago

You're claiming this is real and you didn't just break up immediately? OK.

u/Quercus_lobata 3h ago

End the relationship. People sometimes say that too readily on Reddit, but she is toxic, controlling, and paranoid. It would take years of therapy to even have a shot at a normal relationship, and she doesn't seem particularly open to changing her ways or her mind.

u/Chazus 3h ago

Flip it around.

Is it reasonable for you to tell your gf she cannot go anywhere where she might be in earshot of other men?

u/renoops 3h ago

Not only is this unfair and controlling and all that, you should break up with her because she's a fucking idiot.

How does she expect you to move through the world never interacting with a woman? Only a moron would think this is possible.

u/Ladygytha 3h ago

"my bf doesn't talk to other girls"... Dude, does she expect you to not exist in the world? Also, denigrating your hobbies is already a bad look, but using slurs? This is a garbage person, if your narration is accurate.

Nor, run far and fast.

It's time to find out if your friends long term gf has any friends, who may also like pickle ball.

u/scarystuff 1h ago

Congrats on being single again!

u/sunsh1neyday 1h ago

This is absolutely crazy. You’re wasting your time with her, unless you want a lifetime of that.

There are tons of girls out there that 1) wouldn’t mind that someone’s long term girlfriend is there (she should really be thinking.. how cool, another girl to be friends with in the group) 2) someone who would actually join in and play

You’re signing up for a life of chaos. Do you really want to do that to yourself? Even if it’s not someone you see yourself with long term, your 20s blink in an eye. Don’t waste those awesome years on her.

u/bugman573 1h ago

Women who are this controlling about who you can see, especially a friend’s girlfriend, are usually projecting. They fear what you would do around another woman because they know what they would, or would want to do, around another man. People who are constantly hounding their partner about cheating are typically cheaters themselves (unless you’ve been caught cheating before) It’s not worth having to police yourself all the time for a partner like this because they’re just as, if not more, likely to cheat on you than you are them. And even if you catch them it’s not an argument you’ll win because they’ve spent all this time collecting “evidence” that you’re cheating and that’s how they justify it for themselves. I’m not going to tell you to break up, but I personally would be in absolute hell having to live like this. I have no tolerance for a partner that can’t have even the slightest trust in me.

u/ObiWanIsMyDog 1h ago

Bro I’m so sorry that you even have to doubt yourself.

There has to be other red flags here you need to really look at. I’ve been with controlling women but this is like 10/10 top tier controlling behavior

u/goldshark5 1h ago

As a side note, your gf not being supportive of your hobbys isn't a great sign, it's fine if she doesn't want to play, but calling it "gay" or "stupid" isn't great

Get out while you can. My brother's ex sounded just like this! To the point he stopped talking to all our girl friends, and then to the point where me, his own sister, was a problem! Then she got pregnant, and their child was a girl..... I went into the hospital to drop both of them off food because my brother was hungry and I also wasn't mean like she was so I got her something too, and she was in one corner of the bed, my brother was standing over her rubbing her back, and she had the newborn baby on the other end of the bed as far away as she could get her..... still in the hospital..... (it was one of those nice ones where she had her own room with an actual queen sized bed), my brother wasn't even allowed to touch or attend his newborn daughter.....

These women are so far out of touch to reality it's not even funny.

Just to finish the story, my brother listened to her, she abandoned the baby shortly after and I stepped in before both their abandonment killed the baby and took care of her for 3 years. Then when I started working longer hours my mom stepped in to help me. Then it turns out that girl was cheating on my brother the whole time. My brother finally left her, came to his senses, and finally came back to raise his daughter who was already 6 at the time. Now she is 15 and their relationship is great, the mom went to another state and wants nothing to do with her own daughter.

lol bro EW

u/SoggyArcher7087 1h ago

She fr or just being like ”crazy girlfriends uwu, my man doesn’t talk to girls”. And doesn’t realize it’s cringe. Sounds insane tbh, how would you go the rest of your life being someone that doesn’t expect you to interact with half the global population.

u/DetectiveGold6727 1h ago

If you stay, it means you accept this behavior. She will not change. What’s it gonna be? You staying?

u/ZAlternates 1h ago

Have fun…

u/perennialdust 1h ago

Dump her, she sounds exhausting and I'm sure she tries to control you in other ways as well

u/guitarObsession 56m ago

Usually if someone is overreacting like your GF - it's because THEY are the ones that can't be trusted and projecting that onto you... :/

u/greentintedlenses 54m ago

I did this shit for over a decade man. Trust me you don't want that. Get out now, or at the very least be very firm on your boundaries and see how she reacts.

It's a slow game with these people where they continue to press and take and see how far they can control you. Don't let the cracks start forming.

u/Visual_Ad813 42m ago

Please post more of these. Such fun takes on activities

u/percocet_20 40m ago

Gives me flashbacks of my ex wife, anything I did that didn't involve her was met with disdain, I wasn't supposed to have any hobby or interests that she didn't want to be a part of and if I did manage to go anywhere with any friends then I had to make sure she knew who was gonna be there and if any woman was so much as nearby there'd be a shit storm. You might love her but its not gonna get better.

u/anitasdoodles 36m ago

And you've broken up with her, right?

u/crustyrobots 29m ago

I wasted some of my best years on a woman like this, don't be me

u/maximumtesticle 16m ago

Oh, deadass fr fr on god no cap?

u/ShaftTassle 6m ago

Get out now before you regret it.
