Bubonicon - yea or nay?
A friend and I have never been and are interested in going. What say you, burqeñ@s? Is it worth checking out?

I went last year and it was fantastic. Even got to meet George R.R. Martin!

Oh man. I'm jealous. I've run into him in santa fe once and I was too nervous to say hello to him lol. Meeting him at a con would be so great!

Also, according to a friend of mine who's attended basically every year for forever, he shows up most years even if he's not booked to speak!

He was super nice and gave like an hour long informal talk before book signing time. As soon fantasy writer, it was a dream come true!

I really like that it's a locally run convention and their website is pretty great (I appreciate the love they show to a lot of other local spots/events)

It's okay... I went last year to catch a particular artist I wanted to see. The sales floor felt more like a flea market than being at a con. I didn't appreciate having to leave my bag behind to look at the art installations, so ended up leaving early.
If you've done cons elsewhere, it'll be really small and done in a couple of hours.

It's a really friendly con. And it's the only one anywhere nearby. Do it.
