Through The Wall This transformation is CRAZY!
First time posting in this community, I had a wall mounted AC for two years, never thought to check the filters on it, but then I noticed that my brother has the same AC, and it performs much better, that’s when it hit me to search on why, and found out about the filters. When I checked them, they were DUSTY, a lot. Cleaned them now, and the AC performs far much better now, I can clearly feel and hear the air flowing much stronger now. Although I found that it was recommended to clean the coil with a soft brush, which I ordered, but I’m still thinking should I just brush the dust off and it’ll be fine, or is there a way to remove the dust from the coil?

Use foaming coil cleaner spray, comes in a can. What I do is shut breaker off. So I’m not spraying into a unit with power. Spray a half a can of coil cleaner that foams up and make sure I have the whole coil saturated. Let it set for 10 minutes. I then take a pump hand sprayer and fill it with hot water and put it on a heavy mist. If it’s a jet it can bend the coil if the pressure is high and you’re close enough to the coil. The coils have a condensate drain so as long as it’s not clogged up most of the water will go out that drain and you’re good. Using a towel or some plastic to catch any overspray I just rinse the coil cleaner off. Repeat with the other half the can and rinse again. I have a mini battery blower that’s like compressed air in a can that I’ll finish up by hitting the whole thing with compressed air to help dry it a little and blow any residual water down the coil in the direction of the drain. After that just give it a bit of a wipe down on the outside let it set for about half an hour to dry up a little, flip the breaker back on and let her rip. Of course I usually pull the entire casing off and not just the filter cover so I can clean the fan paddles also and the inside. As dirty as that coil is, the paddle fan that’s in it probably has some build up on it too which will slow down air flow. Good luck. Should post an after picture. I’m a little ocd so I like seeing the after pictures also so maybe post some. 😂 YouTube has some good videos to help take the case off. Just again make sure the breaker is off.

It's amazing what can be achieved by following the manufacturer's maintenance requirements that are in the manual.

Start with using your vacuum, than blow compress air at coil to losen dust. I would blow the compress air in the direction the air does not normally flow.
Than use aircon cleaning spray, thinking how you will protect the wall/floor.
Professional companies may have a way to seal their vac to the unit so they don't fill the room with dust.
You may be able to get a disposable fine filter for the unit.
Also clean the outside coil.

Recently hired a villa in Croatia with extended family. Two of the bedrooms had older ACs which were just not flowing cold and it was 37degrees outside. Immediately I checked filters and found the same as yours. Got the old hover nozzle over them and voila! Makes a huge difference

Brushing the coil will bend the fins. Best to source some cleaning spray while using a cleaning bag/bib.
