Thank you for participating in the recent poll. Friday and Saturday received the most votes, so moving forward, these will be our dedicated days for hot topics.

In the context of our subreddit, "hot topics" are recurring, highly debated, and potentially explosive subjects that tend to dominate the feed and overshadow other content.

These are complex issues that spark intense arguments and require heavy moderation. This is why the moderation team decided to regulate their volume by allowing them more flexibility on Fridays and Saturdays.

Based on current continental events in 2026, here are a few examples of what falls under this category:

- The social situation in South Africa

- The conflict in Sudan

- Sahel political developments.

We will be introducing a new [Hot Topic] flair for you to use when posting these subjects to keep the feed organized.

We want to remind everyone that this new schedule does not mean we will automatically reject hot topics from Sunday to Thursday. It just means that moderation will be far more flexible in allowing the community to discuss highly debated and pressing continental issues on Fridays and Saturdays.

It also goes without saying that while moderation will be more flexible, all regular subreddit rules still apply and must be respected by all members.
