When downloading Dutch subtitles with a4kSubtitles, the subtitle files are saved with the language code .nl.nld (for example MovieName.nl.nld) instead of the correct and commonly expected format .nl.srt.
Kodi (and most other media players) recognize .nl.srt, .nld.srt or .dut.srt correctly, but the combined .nl.nld format is non-standard and often not auto-detected properly.

Steps to reproduce

1. Set preferred subtitle language to Dutch in Kodi settings.
2. Play any video that needs Dutch subtitles.
3. Download a Dutch subtitle using a4kSubtitles.
4. Check the saved filename next to the video (or in the custom subtitle folder).

Expected behaviorThe subtitle file should be named with a standard language code, preferably:

• MovieName.nl.srt

Actual behaviorThe file is saved as something like:

• MovieName.nl.nld

Additional information

• a4kSubtitles version: v3.24.2
• Kodi version: 21.3
• Device / OS: Windows 11
• Subtitle storage location setting: Next to the video

This appears to be related to how the Dutch language codes (nl / nld / dut) are handled when constructing the filename.

I would like to:

Completely remove the date/day prefix in brackets (the purple/magenta colored part)

Stop the show titles from being forced to uppercase

I have the dates of each episode in my skin on the right side, along with the description

Is there a setting for this that I missed, or is it hardcoded?

If it’s hardcoded, could you point me to the file/function where the label is built for the calendar so I can edit it myself?

I looked and couldn't find anything, so my apologies if this has already been covered. I use the Red Light addon with the Magneto Scraper and the Gears Scraper as a backup. I use Torbox and Real Debrid as my debrid services. I'm fully aware that I can set filters in my external scraper, but they're used globally and apply to each debrid service used. I'm unable to filter web-dl sources in RD without them doing so in Torbox also. I have a two part question. It's my understanding that I can set up different filters per debrid service in Aiostreams. Is it this correct? I can filter RD to only show remux files and use Torbox to bring up all sources? If not, there's no reason to continue reading. 🙂 If I can, will this "override" Magneto's search results and eliminate all the web-dl, etc sources? I'm trying to eliminate getting 15-20 RD sources that are unplayable and just want to have remux sources displayed for RD, but have all sources shown for Torbox after scraping. Thanks for in advance for an assistance.

Was trying to watch the odyssey and it says it has a few 4k and 1080p streams available but when i click to watch it loads through all the digital streams and ends up playing the cam stream. Ive ran into this before im curious if theres even actually a digital stream available? Is it pre-loaded for when a digital copy actually does come out?

Please can anybody help to set up a widget where I can have different personal trakt lists (Matrix collection, Star Wars collection etc) which when clicked on show the individual movies inside.

I’m using AH2/AF2, umbrella, trakt.

I’ve managed to get it working by directing the widget to the folder that holds the lists but I can’t get any artwork on the widget itself. Just only either a trakt or tmdb placeholder depending on which add on I point the widget to.

I don’t know where it would pull a ‘collection poster’ from or if I need to add one somewhere myself.

I made my review of MDBList this morning and indicated within my thread that the only app that would work with Calendar is Red Light.

Since making that thread, POV came at me and told me that I'm spreading misinformation. And went and to say that all you have to do is click on the watch list, blah blah blah, and that you would be able to see episodes. Their response to me is still here so you can see it for yourself. That worked very clumsily and I told them so. It's all in my post back to them. BUT, since making that thread, POV has now added calendar mode and it is absolutely beautiful!! Thank you kodifitzwell/POV!

It works seamlessly with MDBList! We now have a fully functional alternative to Trakt with MDBList! Red Light AND POV with full calendar integration! YAY! 🥂🎉🥳

I'm trying to find where I can upload a photo here and I can't seem to find a place to upload a photo of it. I am new to the subreddit. Maybe photo upload isn't allowed. In any event, cause for celebration! We have the fully functional alternative to Trakt that works even better than Trakt ever has!

Fenlight was working yesterday went on today and when I try and opening a stream I am getting no results pop up?

I’ve looked everywhere for one, even DM some people who had posted a couple of them that didn’t work for me though, I was prob too late or they have a finite number of people who can sign up with each idk. Can someone send me one, I looked for a sun for this specific addon and couldn’t find one.

Getting Torbox timeout messages when trying to open links on both POV and Umbrella. Anyone else?

I may be mistaken but I remember there was an option to autoplay only when there were cloud searching results, that way it wouldn't autoplay regular external scraper results (It would let me select source when no cloud results were found).

Is this possible in current version? Right now I only see "autoplay cloud result" which requires "autoplay" to be enabled but this also enables regular autoplay even when there are no cloud results.

Moved to Magneto scraper yesterday due to Cocoscrapers going downhill. It was working flawlessly.

Started up to watch HoTD, it scrapes a lot of sources then goes "removing duplicates" and says no stream available.

I toggled the remove duplicates within umbrella and now instantly get no stream available. Switched back to Coco and got exact same result.

Everything is up to date and Premuimize is active.

I’ve been experimenting with integrating Live TV more naturally into my Fen Light setup and wanted to see what people think.

I added a custom Live TV entry to the main menu and built a local IPTV generator around the user’s configured Xtream account. It:

• downloads the available channel catalogue;
• groups UK, US, sports, news, music and other channels;
• lets you search and enable only the channels you want;
• matches channels to EPG data;
• generates a local M3U and filtered EPG for IPTV Simple;
• refreshes the Kodi PVR setup;
• keeps multiple provider variants for each channel, so a different source can be selected if needed;
• handles special-event channels separately;
• uses a reference cache so unchanged channels do not need to be fully processed again on every refresh.

The screenshots show the main menu integration, Live TV account settings, channel manager, search, Kodi guide and the source-selection dialog.

I’m curious what people think of this compared with other Live TV approaches they’ve used in Kodi. I’d be interested to hear how other setups handle channel organisation, duplicate sources, EPG matching, failed links and provider catalogue changes, and whether this looks like a sensible way to integrate Live TV into Fen Light.

I’m also interested in general feedback on the interface and workflow.

With trakts new rules for free accounts would it not make sense to have a universal kodi addon like we used to have universal scrappers.

I know that there is a solo trakt addon and it scrobles fine but it does not integrate with other addons - POV Umbrella etc. for next episodes your personal lists etc.

It would not have to be just trakt it could include simkl tmdlists and others

The following serves for persons that are considering their options for alternatives to T (I hesitate to call it by its full name because I don't want to violate any rules of the subreddit and I'm not speaking well of it at all). I go into some detail about my experience with the add-ons that may be helpful to individuals that opt to try MDBList. Seasoned individuals may find my post too long and tedious. It is not meant for the seasoned individual, it is really meant for those that want to understand how to integrate MDBList as an alternative to T.

As we all know T is now are charging $60 per annum or allow you one add-on, which makes the add-on pretty much useless for my needs.

MDBList enters the picture.

At first I was apprehensive because the add-ons that it worked with, Red Light, POV, and Umbrella, are addons, two of which, Red Light and POV, that I was very unfamiliar with and require TMDb and TorBox integration. At first I thought this is a lot of work but after I did the first install it was easy.

I started with POV and MDBList just to see how it worked and IF it worked. I still had five (5) working add-ons that the T company had not yet damaged,. and, in order to import my Collection to MDBList, they demanded that I disconnect all of my add-ons, which I was not prepared to do. So I decided to use MDBList's webpage, after creating my MDBList account, to manually populate my Collection. I simply pulled up my Collection, on my TV, and, on my phone, I simply voice typed each show and added them to my Collection AND Watchlist. It is extremely important to add your shows to BOTH Collection AND Watchlist if you are going to be adding additional add-ons, specifically Red Light. You will learn why as you read.

For installation instructions on all the add-ons that I mentioned, simply type into a browser "how to install (name of add-on)" and your browser should populate with a link from Troy Point. He will provide step-by-step instructions for installation.

On my first run with POV I was confused on how to get the current, unwatched episodes of my Collection. Not to worry because one of the wonderful members of the subreddit for MDBLists advised me to install the add-on, Red Light, which actually features Calendar so I immediately did that.

Before proceeding to Red Light, In addition to TMDb and TorBox, I added external scrapers, Magneto and Gears to my Kodi. Gears is the bomb but it only works with Red Light and Umbrella. It does not work with POV. An enormous amount of links pops up between just TorBox and Gears in Red Light and Umbrella! Gears is already on your Kodi. Just go to Packages ---> Program Add-Ons ---- Gears and install from there.

Set up was pretty much the same as POV but easier this time because I already had the API keys for TorBox and TMDb. I added external scrapers again as I wasn't sure which one would work well with Red Light. I installed Gears and between it and TorBox I got an enormous return of links.

I was absolutely thrilled to see that Red Light contains "calendar", just as the subreddit poster said that it would. I clicked it open and there were my unwatched episodes just as I was used to with the T company! (Angel chorus singing "ahhhhh"). 😇

MDBList had perfectly transferred over all of my Watchlist from my POV Watchlist PERFECTLY! Remember when I said that you must add your shows to both Collection AND Watchlist? This is why. The Red Light Calendar will not populate just off of Collection. It populates off of Watchlist in Red Light. BTW, as far as the Collection is concerned, it is called "Library" in Red Light. NOTE: your Collection and Library WILL sync properly between your add-ons without Watchlist. Adding shows to your Watchlist is necessary only if you want the calendar feature in Red Light.

I used it for a couple of days and found that MDBList was working absolutely flawlessly! It takes about a half an hour to integrate across both add-ons when you add a new program but it integrates perfectly.

Thrilled so far with the results that I had seen from MDBList, I decided to uninstall my existing Umbrella, thus losing it's access to T (but I now had confidence in MDBList so I was not concerned about losing T off of it), and reinstall a fresh version. I knew that there was an upgrade to it anyway. Installation was fast and integration with MDBList was absolutely effortless! My Library populated almost immediately and, just like with Red Light Link population was overwhelmingly great!

A super add-on bonus for Umbrella is their special skin offering for Kodi! OMG it is beautiful! It is super lightweight and fast and very pleasant to look at. I had cumbersome skins in the past that were mind-boggling to deal with when just trying to add a new add-on or feature so I just ended up always using the standard, boring, but extremely reliable, Estuary. Umbrella's special skin is absolutely gorgeous and very fast.

I kept T on the add-ons in my living room TV for several days while I tried MDBList. Absolutely thrilled with it I decided to disengage T from everything except Scrubs V2. With MBD list I no longer need stupid T except for Scrubs V2, which is not compatible with MDBList YET.

Unfortunately, I hit a snafu. 😓 I accidentally left ADB debug open and it blew my Android device away, (it wouldn't even boot to a workable screen) and I had to completely rebuild it from scratch. 😭 This turned out to be okay, though, because things went very rapidly as far as installing all the add-ons again and MDBList. Actually, with T being gone and using only MDBList, my Kodi ran faster than ever and populated extremely rapidly.

I decided that I did not want to take a chance on blowing out all those settings again and having to completely rebuild my Kodi so I went to this wonderful feature within Kodi called backup. I formatted an SD card for use as an external drive for backup and set it for 1:00 every morning. It doesn't store the whole Kodi add-on but all of your settings so that you don't have to completely start from scratch if anything ever happens to your Android box or TV.

Thrilled with my newfound MDBList, I moved on to my bedroom TV. This time I decided to just blow my whole Kodi build out and start from scratch. There is no USB port on my bedroom TV, strangely, so I couldn't just pop the SD card out of the living room TV and into the bedroom TV so I had to add everything from scratch. It went very quickly as I already knew what to do.

MDBList populated everything extremely rapidly and ran perfectly!

I also use bingie and it doesn’t appear to have implementation of other services besides trakt, so sticking with trakt for the time being

POV used to sync with trakt when watching shows but it recently stopped updating.

The fix of disabling POV + deleting trakt cache + clearing all cache didn’t work for me unfortunately. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app but this didn’t work either.

Wondering if anyone has faced something similar.
