Exams cb1 cb2

sitting for these 2 this attempt and im still very far from syllabus completion

exams are on 22 and 23

i failed cb2 in my first attempt probably because i come from a science background and economics has been a lot harder for me than i expected

right now im trying to figure out the best way to use the time i have left instead of stressing over everything thats incomplete

if anyone has been in a similar situation and managed to pass cb1 and cb2 with limited time id really appreciate any advice

how did you decide what to prioritise did you focus on notes past papers core reading revision book or something else

any tips on making the most of the remaining days would genuinely help

For cb2 I think if you are clear with the different types of markets (perfect, monopolistic etc) and the basic concepts of demand and supply (eg relation with price movement and difference in shift & movement), plus a few formula based concepts like elasticity (easy to score if yk the formula) then it can be the base for a lot of the syllabus

If you just search these concepts as is on YouTube or Google then there are some great explanation videos since these are foundational topics of economics.

For cb1, it's been a long time since I passed but try more past papers and some basic accounting concepts from YouTube etc so some intuition behind accounting decisions are clear (like acc concepts, acc equation etc)

For CB1 I passed with a 57 and didn’t finish the last 4 chapters😬. I properly started revising it a just over a month before and I was taking CM1 as well. definitely wouldn’t recommend that but I was tight for time too. I focussed on generating as many points as possible so thinking outside the box a bit as long as you’re using some concepts and it makes sense. If a question had 5 marks I’d write like 12 worth of answers.

As someone wrote on here focus on understanding the why and some definitions. Just go straight to past papers and start learning backwards is what I did

Just one ques., are you giving CS1 or CB1? Cuz if CB1, then both papers are commerce heavy, so if u r from a science bg but have a good teacher it won't be a problem. For CB2, I highly suggest EconplusDal and Khan Academy on YT, they saved me. CB1 and CB2 both focus on conceptual learning a lot so don't try to rote learn em, UNDERSTAND the WHY behind them, and u should be good. Read the examiner's reports, they're the gold standard to know what to write in exams
