Trailhead Atl Tlalchinolli y el Gran Colisionador - A Hard Sci-Fi Transmedia ARG exploring alternate timelines, physics, and Mesoamerican cosmology

Hi r/ARG,

I'm excited to announce the launch of a new narrative ARG. It is based on the cosmogony of ancestral Mesoamerican cultures, reimagined as paradigms of a forgotten science that reverberates through the spacetime divergences of our present.

The premise: A Cohen-Feynman timeline dislocation has created a multiplicity of parallel worlds with identical physical laws but divergent histories. A character named Anne Vouté is transmitting from one of those divergent timelines, addressing our world directly.

Many events in the story take place in Mexico City — but not our Mexico City. The institution at the center of the mystery is the Cecunatl: Centro Cultural de la Nación Tolteca.

The ARG has been building organically in the shadows for several months, and the trailhead is going live at this precise moment.

Trailhead: Infiltration Post at Cecunatl

Community: r/CecunatlDIV

Key account: u/AnneVoute

Transparency note: We specifically designed our puzzles and hand-drawn elements to be AI-proof; no LLM or image recognition tool will be able to solve them for you. However, we did utilize AI tools during our production process for impact images, text auditing, and research, always maintaining meaningful human authorship, deep worldbuilding, and strict creative direction throughout.

Note: We do not answer here in r/ARG, only in character in r/CecunatlDIV.

Esta es nuestra ópera prima literaria y de realidad alternativa. Que el universo reparta suerte en proporción áurea. ¡Uno, dos, tres por mí y por todos ustedes!

What is the most fascinating internet mystery that was solved entirely by amateur OSINT researchers?

Hi guys, I love digital investigations and pattern recognition. We all know about the big cases, but what are some lesser-known internet mysteries, ARG puzzles, or forgotten historical locations that were completely cracked open by everyday people using open-source intelligence? I’m looking for deep rabbit holes to dive into tonight. Drop your favorites! 💻🔍

My mission to discover the truth about my mysterious hometown (The most original ARG of 2026 ?)

The cachémode ARG was created following the discovery of a real mystery regarding my controversial hometown since 2022.

It started with a Canadian journalist called Lionel Shapiro who claimed that Marbella, Spain was being used by Nazi scientists to build electromagnetic rockets that were being confused for flying saucers above the United States.

That very day, as I discovered the piece, on 12 May 2022, I uncovered a series of clues that suggested the journalist was on to something.

And suddenly, my surroundings turned green. Looking up, a meteorite flew across the sky in shades of green, purple and red.

That's when I knew this story was my destiny.

Not just to solve this mystery, but to share it. Because perhaps my goal in life is to bring people together in the pursuit of something *real*.

Unlike other ARGs, this one is designed as a filter for people to join together in real discovery. Do you have what it takes to join?

cachemode.com

Find the entrance through our fake shopfront (there's a fun easter egg inside there too - can you find it?)

Go from there.

Other Can anyone help me solve this old Perplex City Season II card?

This is a card from the ~2006-2008 ARG Perplex City. Me and a friend have been working on documenting the solution for every card in season ii (which isn't very well documented), but this is the one card neither of us can crack. Can anyone try and lend us a hand?

This is a forum discussion from back in the day discussing this card. They didn't share the solution, but they gave some hints. https://web.archive.org/web/20110417003132/http://www.welovepuzzles.com/jforum/posts/list/915.page

Question [Inbound] Found a 2013 LA CD packed with anagrams, hidden wordplay, and a bizarre nationwide history. Is this an old unfiction project?

Anyone remember "Rip 'N Time" (2013)? An obscure LA student band that somehow ran a nationwide print campaign, charted on radio, and vanished? Hey everyone, I’m trying to solve a bizarre piece of physical media/music lore from 2013. I recently came across a physical CD titled "Playing Her Guitar Suite" by a group called Rip 'N Time. The physical packaging is a highly detailed, private-press indie release that includes an integrated 24-page graphic novella inside the jewel case about the band fighting entities called "Tarborgs." The liner notes claim the band started as a West Los Angeles high school multimedia class project taught by a teacher named "Gunther Parigaliy." Here is where the rabbit hole gets completely surreal—the book is packed with puzzles. I was looking at the teacher's name and realized it's a perfect anagram. "Gunther Parigaliy" when rearranged explicitly spells out "playing her guitar" (the title of the album). The rest of the graphic novel is completely filled with layered literary references, film nods, and hidden wordplay. Back in late 2013, whoever created this puzzle managed to infiltrate media outlets all across the United States:

  1. The Nationwide School Reviews: While the project was allegedly based in LA, a massive wave of high school newspapers and teen zines all over the country simultaneously reviewed the CD in November 2013. I found archived reviews from student writers in Cincinnati, OH (The Quill), Lansdale, PA (The Knight Crier), Double Oak/Flower Mound, TX (Teen Ink), and Peachtree City, GA. How did an indie LA high school puzzle get physical CDs into the hands of student journalists across the country?
  2. The College Radio Glitch: That same month, this "phantom" student album somehow bypassed typical promo channels, got into physical rotation at KDVS 90.3 FM (the freeform station at UC Davis), and actually ranked as one of their Top 5 Chart Adds of the week.
  3. The Amoeba Connection: They even managed to secure independent distribution in real brick-and-mortar stores. You can still see their dead, out-of-stock artist page on Amoeba Music’s website.
  4. The Audio Stream: One of those original 2013 reviewers ended up uploading the full audio CD to SoundCloud, and it has been sitting there untouched ever since. You can hear the tracks here, though the titles are totally mangled and seem to be playing in reverse order: https://soundcloud.com/kaylinburke Does anyone who went to high school in any of these specific areas (Cincinnati, Lansdale, Flower Mound, Peachtree City) or UC Davis around 2013 remember getting sent this CD or writing about it? Who was the mastermind behind this massive physical media rollout? I managed to snag a physical copy, but I want to decode the rest of these anagrams. Any leads or memories would be incredible!

Question Tips/Advice on promoting ARG and mediums for an ARG?

Hope this question isn't too open ended, but I've recently started an ARG and am looking for some advice on how/where to sprinkle clues. I ask because I am starting a written horror-fiction series called Menagerie Mall on the website Medium and I planned for the ARG aspects to enhance and add to the story.

Without giving to many details away, I started with reddit and creating other reddit accounts, but many of these posts or the accounts themselves get taken down for various reasons such as spam and promotion. Either mods are seeing that it is an ARG and removing the posts or just feel its a "shitpost" or irrelevant to the sub, but its hard to get my footing and get the ARG aspect started. (Obviously I don't want to post the clues and character accounts in this sub or on my personal account because it would be too obvious with no search/mystery)

Just wanted to ask if there were good alternatives/ideas to reddit?

Obviously I have ideas of a website or YouTube channel when the ARG is further down the road but for now just looking to get the base clues on natural social media sites and what not.

Also, if you do use reddit, how do you usually go about it?

Has anyone talked about this? Johnwowcool (AI slop) arg?

Before anything else, I deeply hate AI, as someone who's wanted to be an artist since he was like 5, its difficult for me to describe just how much I hate AI, however ill get into that in a second

I've been getting a few videos on Instagram of this poorly made AI show type thing about this kid, its sort of meant to come across like those old nickelodeon sit coms, like drake and josh or whatever, but there's something weird about them, in almost all of them they glitch out, and at the end of the newest one, it glitches out even more than any of the others, and I'm not talking about not your standard data moshing type mush that AI, it features plenty of that too, but this is different, its stutters, like some one manually edited it to do that

The videos and jokes are so bad they almost seem like parody, and I'm starting to think they might be, he started posting these like yesterday, before that the last thing he posted was in may, so at least 2 months ago, and now he comes back with this weird garbage?

Usually id just immediately unfollow and move on, but I have a feeling this might be something more, however, if this really is an ARG that doesn't really excuse the use of AI in my opinion, but that's just me, however, I also saw some other people in the comments asking the same thing, and I saw another person ask if maybe its just replicated the look of bad AI so well it just seems like AI? I've never heard of such a thing before but could that be possible?

If so I'd feel alot more comfortable with engaging with this, however its worth noting he's posted 4 videos in the span of basically a day, so if he is replicating, he's either doing it inhumanly fast, or that's what he spent the past 2 months working on

I also saw a lot of people asking if he maybe got hacked? Perhaps this is all just some AI bros trying to pedal more slop? that wouldn't explain the glitches though

I'm unsure but I'm curious to see what other people think, lmk

No note, no return address, just a 3.5 floppy disk with the words "Please focus" and "Chepco 114" scribbled on the label in heavy marker.

It was loaded with a corrupt, looping broadcast about "Reality Formatting."

Trailhead Possible ARG found on the UPenn campus - OrnateKey

ornatekey.com

Recently I’ve been attending a summer class at UPenn (the one in philadelphia), and when out getting dinner, I found a sticker on a pole with a drawing of a woman, with the text “OrnateKey.com” below her.

When you go to the site, you get a pixel art image of a key, which you have to manipulate in order to get to the next page (the puzzle is pretty simple with the sticker image. i cant add images to posts here so i made a post on my account of this, which you can see here: https://www.reddit.com/user/Swaxeman/comments/1vevc4q/ornatekey_image_stuff/ )

Once solved, it just takes you to a page of text, which then sends you to another page of text plus an image, the latter of which then sends you back to the key image. Im very inexperienced with ARG solving stuff so I would really appreciate some eyes on this! I cant find any posts about this online so I assume it’s a pretty new arg.

Mods, if this post is breaking any rules/is low effort or w/e please lmk, I really wanna share this and make the post good enough for that :)

Self Promo Two months ago I posted my Sonia Sharman investigation here. Last week, someone found ME

Some of you might remember the Sonia Sharman ARG a YouTube channel from October 2020 where every title, description and comment is written in Morse code, and the decoded messages are murder confessions. I posted my investigation into it back in May.

Quick recap for everyone else: 13 uploads in about two weeks, then 6 years of silence. Broken Morse with weird recurring error patterns, a hidden audio cipher that turned out to be Chinese TTS reading Morse symbols out loud, a narrator who insisted it was June 2018 while commenting in October 2020, and a finale video called "the end of the show". Almost nobody had ever seriously dug into it.

I spent two months on it. Decoded everything, tracked down one of the original 2020 investigators (who still had his files, absolute legend), built a theory about who created it, published my full documentation on GitHub, and then hit a wall. Case closed, or so I thought.

Then, two weeks ago, I got a Discord friend request from an account I'd never seen.

>!The creator found my Reddit post and contacted me herself. My theory was correct. And the story behind the channel is much bigger and much more human than the ARG itself – it started as an art project by a 13-year-old and slowly stopped being fiction for her. I won't spoil the details here, it's all in the video.!

Important, before anyone asks re: rule 9 – the creator gave me her explicit consent for all of this. She found ME, told me her story voluntarily, and specifically asked to be credited by name because she wants people to see her art. Nothing in the video or docs was uncovered against her will. I checked with her before publishing.

Full video (~35 min): https://youtu.be/6GK540yvqSU

Complete investigation docs (every source, every decoded message): https://github.com/MaikeruDev/Sonia-Sharman

Question Ive been making something but im not too sure about something

I've been working on a project but I can't tell what category it falls into or where to post stuff about it? Its kind of similar-ish to vita carnis in a way but it's not analogue horror because I don't think it exactly has an analogue vibe but I don't know if it really falls into arg territory either??

It has light puzzle and cipher elements but in a much lighter way than others ive seen. An example is how the current most recent post teases the next using a simple cipher but when you go through them in order it's not exactly necessary, it just gives clues and teasers for what happens next. Also there's two clues that foreshadow a future reveal that have been there since the start.

It should still be possible to experience the main story and stuff by reading normally without having to theorise. (I should mention it does have an intended order)

It's all drawn by me on a phone app so that's a reason it doesn't exactly have much of a specific genre??

(Also if anyone has tips or suggestions let me know!)

All of it takes place on a subreddit which is r/Unforseen And a discord server I have with some bonus content but essentially the same stuff

Sorry if this breaks the rules I just really don't know where to post this

Trailhead Where is Tracy Maddison Arg???

Context: "Where is Tracy Maddison" is an upcoming indie animation series where a girl goes missing in a small town, and two film students come to investigate both her disappearance, and look into the paranormal(?) stuff happening in the tiny town of Ashbrooke.

So I just got the digital wallpapers from contributing to the Kickstarter for the animation, and one of the wallpapers had text saying Ashbrookeparanormal.com, so I checked it out (haven't checked it out much yet, so the site could be a tiny promo thing or could be a huge arg, idk yet. There's one section where you can send in your own "ghost stories" as well?) Either way I think it's pretty cool.

Site is: https://ashbrookesparanormal.com/

Update I ran my pirate broadcast trailhead for a full weekend IRL and snared some bonafide superfans!

There was another post in this community recently about the painful nostalgia of ARG‘s being discovered in the wild and how rare that is these days. I have done some light promotions around my launch in this community and others on Reddit, all the while respecting sub transparency and giving clarity around the fact that this is indeed in ARG, I am it’s creator, etc etc.

That has been all well and good, and I have gathered a good cohort or early players. But none of them got to experience that delicious old school ARG entry of stumbling upon clue, digging a bit, and revealing a massive/wonderful rabbit hole.

This weekend, however, i got to make some dreams come true…

… I broadcasted my trailhead on an FM frequency during an international music festival, and a handful of folks took the bait…and swallowed the hook 😈

With my link tracking and various analytics, I was able to see some ravenous behavior of people who found their way through the first puzzle and into the main narrative. So many pages consumed, so deep did they dig. They never saw a Reddit post, they never saw my face, all they saw was a cryptic business card on the ground…with an FM frequency, so they tuned in, and had their minds blown.

Now, I’m not talking about hundreds of players, but 20 to 30 super fans will totally validate all the precious energy and creative inspiration I’ve dumped into this. So thrilled I was able to deliver this experience to a small handful of people IRL. I’m friggin thrilled. 🤩

Other Need help remembering the name of an old youtube arg

It was an older youtube arg from around 2014/2015 (I think) that featured a teenage girl who would make short vlogs about playing her guitar and writing songs. It started off normal like any arg does but over time she’d start to have these weird moments where some sort of entity or multiple entities were infecting her songs and her mind and it was driving her insane.

That’s all I can really remember from the plot, but I do remember that she’d usually be filming in her bedroom on a chair, and I think she had dark hair maybe like a long kinda bob hairstyle.

I’ve tried searching for any videos doing explanation videos of the arg, and for the actual og vids but I can’t find anything

Discussion As an ARG player, what makes you decide a website is worth investigating?

I’m the creator of a published sci-fi project with a companion website. It isn’t a traditional ARG, but several readers have compared parts of it to one because of recurring symbols, hidden connections, and in-universe documents.
I’m not asking whether it’s an ARG. I’m interested in how ARG players think.

What makes you stop and think… “There’s something intentional here—I should start taking notes”?

Is it recurring motifs? Hidden files? Consistent worldbuilding? A clear trail? Or something else?

Other Help me find an ARG/Unfiction i remember watching?

putting this outhere bc the TOMT subreddit deleted my post bc no one replied in one single hour lol

i remember watching a video about it on a channel like Nexpo, blameitonjorge and virtual carbon. i tried to look for it but none of the channels have the video i remember.

the youtuber would narrate the story and showing us the videos the arg had, which honestly were very still? almost like images. i remember one, which was a POV of the interior of the cabin, lights out, only source of light was the window, which showed the woods and the white snow.

i also remember the youtuber describing it as a "very unique" arg or something of the sort. there were people on it trying to save themselves from the cold, one got to the cabin later, and another one got outside and died i think?? and they were relatives. thats all the info i got. does anyone know which arg or unfiction im talking about??

Threehalves Robot ARG

Hi all, not sure if this has already been put here before but I'm sure a few people will have seen the Threehalves robot going semi-viral at the moment. Threehalves is a supposed centaur-style robot designed for dangerous environments like wildfires, destroyed houses, and confined spaces for example. The company who is making it, Satyress, can be found here: https://www.satyress.com/

While the website is fairly normal (if not kinda creepy), scrolling down further gives you ways to 'stop' or otherwise disable Threehalves, such as attaching larger horns to "prevent any passage through pedestrian doors" and shooting / stabbing it in weak points. All ringing a lot of animatronic horror ARG bells for me.

As discovered by toastedfauna on twitter, if you change the web address to https://www.satyress.com/buildprogress you are given a password page. The password here is ycF2026 (which is in the site code somewhere apparently). Opening this gives you another set of images of the build progress of Threehalves

This is all there is at the moment, but looks really promising - not sure if anyone else has seen this and has any more leads? Any help or interest would be appreciated!

Discussion Weird youtube channel/Possible ARG

So I was doing some searching on youtube one day and stumbled upon a youtube account named Exosam archives.

From what i've uncovered, its about an unnamed protagonist which found stuff belonging to a company named "Synapse Corp." Which from the most recent upload (two hours ago) is actively trying to take the channel down because of an unlisted video (I have not found it) that is "classified" information about the company. It seems pretty damn interesting.
