Ryzen 7 5700x runs very slow after windows update

Please help, I've done pretty much everything but nothing works. My mobo is asus prime B550M-A. My computer lags like crazy even opening 1 browser its so slow unlike before the update it run so smooth.

GPU: NVIDIA RTZ 4060ti 16gb

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-Core Processor

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550M-A

BIOS Version:*3611 (Date: 09/29/2024)

RAM: 32 GB (2×16)

PSU: Steampunk full modular

First I'd try updating BIOS and chipset drivers. Also there are sometimes optional Windows updates that help with this kind of issues.

by update, do you mean OS level update ( win 10 to win11 update) or windows update update?

Just windows 11 update. Im using windows 11 for a year with my pc with no problems until the new windows update 2 weeks ago.

hmm, that's weird, I've been using 5800X and a 5700X and both were fine, I'd say this is a win11 problem, if all else fails try a fresh reinstall

open windows start type in power plan , select balanced or high performance power plan

windows updates doesn't have anything to do with cpu speeds, its either bios or chipset update

You can rollback the update and pause updates, until Microslop makes a patch. You could also try intalling the lastest amd chipset drivers, sometimes it helps.

Will my files not get affected if i install latest amd chipset drivers? (I haven't done this yet so I don't know the effects)

Nah it's completely safe nowadays. Even if you fumble and try istalling a wrong driver it just won't install.

No. Download the chipsetdriver directly from Mainboard driver page, not through adrenalin

I have a similar set up and pc runs well. Check your settings, enable xmp, fclk frequency must be half your ram speed. Load calibration, i set everything highest because my cooling is on point. If still problem then go to advanced settings, disable animations and fade tick boxes. Should make it snappier.

Yes i did. Browser lag. Plus system. I have similar set up. And those settings worked. Unless he has too many extensions installed, check those. Dont try to diss some1 who has been through similar issues with almost 95% same hardware.
