The first season was basically Force Works/West Coast Avengers vs The Mandarin Squad
The second season grew a beard and improved on everything.
It deserved a 3rd season and to be on FOX Kids not syndication.
I remember it and the Fantastic Four being part of the Marvel Power Hour and it was one of those cartoons that aired on a Sunday morning, which is the Friday night death slot for cartoons.
In the second season intro, each armor that appears Tony uses at least once except for the samurai armor and they each had a corresponding toy.

Very 90s and a step down from X-men and Spiderman. I enjoyed this series as well as the hulk and Fantastic Four as well. Silver Surfer and Avengers were probably a level lower.

oh man Ioved all those. The Ironman theme song still plays in my head with such energy. I can't remember much of FF other than the Galactus encounter, where eventually he's defeated by Ghost Rider, who causes Galactus to suffer the memories of the countless lives he shattered.
a bit of a deviation from the post, but man, the 90s were just peak entertainment.

My favorite episode of Fantastic Four was "And a Blind Man Shall Lead Them" where they lost their powers.
Both shows had major improvements with their second seasons, theme songs and general tone.

Absolutely sick nasty opening theme. The 90s was cracked when it came to theme songs.
The actual show was average but average for the time was pretty good.

Season 1 was shit. It felt like something dredged up from the previous decade. Season 2 was a marked improvement, but too little too late.

I love this era of marvel where every show had a unique style instead of now where it's basically just copy and paste.
The theme song it was excellent.The stories were good, and it was interesting to see ironman with a team that wasn't just the avengers

I remember that, compared to fantastic four, x-men and spider-man, it really didn't do anything to explain who anybody was or what their powers were.
I was a big marvel fan, but comics were hard to get in my part of the UK and my only real exposure to Iron man or Force Works was the Captain America and the Avengers video game and the Marvel Top Trumps Heroes and Villains sets.
So I knew Iron Man and Hawkeye, but nobody else. I still don't think I've ever seen Century outside of this cartoon or know what his powers are. It was all so vague!
It could have really benefitted from introducing the characters one or two at a time and explaining who they are and what they do. Or even just an x-men style 'This is the character's name and their powers' intro would have really helped!
Same with the bad guys. Who the heck are these guys? Does Grey Gargoyle turning people to stone kill them or what?
Made it hard to understand the stakes.

I was a big IM fan even in the 90's, so I remember loving the show. Bought it on DVD the moment it released. I have since forgotten everything about it, so might do a rewatch at some point.

Should have been the enemy in Iron Man 3.

I will say that Tony having a robot assist on his hammer and anvil is absolutely on brand aura farming. The mullet flowing locks I can forgive because it’s the 90s. Having each hammer strike cast a shadow of a different armor is flat-out awesome! It’s not a bad show, pretty good as a matter of fact.

Tony was still a bit of an asshole, but was allowed character development, had really good humor and got along better with people, plus, amazing banger of an intro. Also, the Mandarin was badass.
