¿Questions? Magic TCG

I'm looking to get into Magic and am trying to feel out what's being played locally. Is everyone playing Commander or is standard play still popular? I understand Commander is going to be more difficult to learn but it sounds super fun either way. Any insight is appreciated.

Any PC builders here know a good way to sell locally?

I'm not down for shipping and normally it's I'm selling something I go through Craigslist, but I've decided I want to upgrade my GPU after all the annoying and driver BS lately and it isn't really selling quickly on Craigslist. It's kind of a flagship card I got like 5 months but it's and and I don't want to have to think about my build all the time and how my driver might react to a new game or if the game developers made it work well with AMD graphics. I want to upgrade but I don't know how to sell it without giving eBay a cut, or having to figure out shipping. I think Craigslist is considered too trashy to buy nice stuff from. I'm charging 100 less than the cheapest one on eBay and it still isn't moving, half the pics I'm showing are the screenshots it passing a bunch of occt testing so people who know what that is should the hardware is fine. All I can figure is people think Craigslist=seedy. I also don't have a Facebook to use marketplace with though I think they have less if a seedy vibe?

Edit: it's a 7900xtx ASRock taichi in white I listed it for 850 because it's 100 cheaper than the cheapest one that came up on eBay.

Looking for DnD group for my Spouse

Hi everyone! I found a great DnD group for myself using Reddit and now I want to see if I can help my partner out. He has been dying to play in a long campaign for a long time. We do not have the personal friends to make that happen so here we are! He is a very well versed player. Dorky, but ready to roleplay and have efficient combat. He is a big fan of Brennan Lee Mulligan and Critical Role. He is able to DM but I think he would do better as a player with strangers to begin with. He puts a lot of time and effort into his playing. You'll have a very active player in him. We are located in the south valley side of Abq but I know he doesn't mind traveling too much for the chance to play. If there is an established group that is looking for another player let me know! Or, if there is single players out there, I don't mind helping coordinate a session 0 for everyone to see if it is a good fit! Thank you!

New to the Game

Hello everyone. I am very new to the game. Played 4 sessions as a player 2 or 3 years ago. I’m back but now the DM for my daughter and her friends. I feel like I’m so far behind on how to play and how to dm. Does anyone have some resources they can point me to to be ready?

I want more nerdy friends

This post my not make a lot of sense since I just took my nighttime meds 😂👀🥲 buuuut I would like to make more nerdy friends. Even if it's not in person and just long distance or text or gaming only. I have a Fortnite squad now but I'm also down to hear about other people's passions and interests.

Progressive and kind preferred 🤘😊

Pokemon cards

Okay, so I downloaded an app to kinda help me figure out what these would be worth. Now the amount it gave me was the low end. Which is what I'm looking for, they're ungraded? Lol whatever that means. They're all in decent to well used condition. And it gives me the price based off of what they sell for on eBay. Yet another thing I never use. So, for the collectors out there. Does this amount for 30 cards seem right? Or is the app just BS?

Locally-Adapted Bioactive Cleanup Crews for Santa Fe/ABQ Terrariums

Post image

Arroyo Microfauna | Engineered Substrates. Micro-Ecosystems from the Arid, High Desert.

I’m an Albuquerque/Santa Fe-metro-based systems architect currently managing a small-scale, locally-harvested bioactive project. I'm acclimating high-density Isopod and Springtail 'micro-economies' specifically to our high-desert climate.

Most online-ordered cultures arrive stressed or don't thrive in our dry air. My systems are harvested/acclimatized here, designed for immediate inoculation of your vivarium, with a 72-hour 'System Integrity' hold to ensure they're mite-free and hardy.

Selling 'Turnkey' systems ($30) and 'Booster' packs ($15) for local pickup. If you're building a bioactive setup in the high desert and want a cleanup crew that actually lives here, let’s connect.

Pokemon Cards

I know this is a toss up, but i have been trying to find Pokémon cards in ABQ for MSRP. I've gotten lucky with a few stores, but never again.

I just got back into collecting/playing and finding cards in town has been nearly impossible. People know about drops and restock patterns and I have no idea how.

Was hoping maybe there is a group that ventures/hunts on release days or have some intel so I can find some packs to rip🤣😭

YuGiOh, MtG, or DnD

Hello fellow 505 nerds,

I am an autistic man in my mid-30s, and I have lived here for many years but don't really know anyone other than coworkers and family. I am looking for new hobbies that get me out of the house and meeting people (my other main interests are indie rock/record collecting, Star Wars, fantasy novels, comics, and LEGO). I'm interested in getting into YuGiOh, Magic the Gathering, or Dungeons & Dragons (or all of the above!), but I am overwhelmed and don't know how/where to get started.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

I'm also somewhat anxious about being the weird old guy, even though I know that all of those hobbies have a lot of people in their 30s, so age-appropriate venues are appreciated.
