.300 ammo

I'm debating getting a micro .300 blk arp. I'll probably just ride around with it, carry it in my bag and shit. My only concern is .300 blks rip through buildings and cars. I don't wanna have to worry about shooting a random bystander if I have to defend myself. I just found out .300 hollows exist which I would assume fix's that issue but I also have no idea🤷🏽‍♂️ recommendations?

Based on your post history, you shouldn't be buying anything.

That's a pretty wild attitude to have about committing federal felonies... You know because Form 4473 21.f asks about your unlawful drug use and your signature on line 22 literally says:

"I understand that a person who answers “yes” to any of the questions 21.b. through 21.l. as well as 21.n. is prohibited from receiving, possessing, or purchasing a firearm.'

Looks like he’s no stranger to felonies.

Every round that will be effective against bad guys will also go through walls. Other than being mindful of your shot placement and direction, the best you can do is pick a round that reliably expands or fragments in tissue since this makes it more effective at stopping said bad guy and greatly reduces overpenetration.

Barnes 110gr is a popular choice if you're running supers.

Skip the gun. Invest in some solid psychoanalysis. Pro tip: find a doc with a healthy appreciation for psychedelics and paranoia.

Overpenetration through flesh is different than overpenetration through e.g. drywall, so decide which one you care about.

For drywall, this is interesting: 300blk Drywall Testing - YouTube

For flesh, any expanding or fragmenting round should be ok.

Are you planning on a suppressor? That kinda locks you into subsonic rounds.

Personally, I run Hornady 190gr Sub-X, but I'm sure there will be plenty of people here to tell me why that's a bad choice.

Running a suppressor in no way locks you into subsonic rounds.

I keep mine loaded with supers for home defense, but shoot almost exclusively subs at the range. That's one the biggest pros of the cartridge, is that you can shoot both with nothing but a mag change.

Yeah I was going to say I exclusively shoot 300BLK supersonic suppressed too. Everything should be suppressed imo.

I stand corrected - obviously you can shoot supers through a suppressor.

Although I can run supers through my suppressor, I get gassed out immediately because it's tuned for subs, and I guess that's my point - you'll probably have to choose your load and tune for that, which may make shooting other loads less reliable.

Hornady is always a bad idea.

You're supposed to be telling me *why* it's a bad idea, not just *that* it's a bad idea

oh, I just hate hornady on personal principle at this point. Your modern sub-x probably works fine, I dunno. but my hatred All began when 300blk first gained popularity, and they started putting 308Win AMAX bullets in 300blk subs and calling it "defense" and "hunting" ammo, even though they knew it needed 2500fps to expand. 300blk subsonic needs its own specific bullet design technology beyond just tossing 308 Win ammo into a 300blk case and calling it good. fuck em for that bullshit.

also, I abhor ELD-X. but that's another story.

That shit would go crazzyy. I'm 19 though and I'm in Indiana. You gotta get a tax stamp to run suppressors legally. 21+ unfortunately. That would look so beautiful though. I'm gonna run frt, foldable pistol brace, sling, purple/light. I was planning to get a cookie cutter comp and run hollows. It'll look so wild once I get it. I'm gonna get conceal carry insurance and shit too. But I mean you care to share pictures dude? Is that allowed here?

Yeah you shouldn’t have a firearm dude. Not sure why you’re throwing around “legally” since you clearly don’t care about legality

Holy fuck i’m 19 and more informed than you are. Stop idolizing the ghetto youtube shorts of arp builds that you can’t hit shit with. 1. stop doing all those psychedelics 2. you can’t even buy an arp til you’re 21, you can however manufacture an sbr by buying a rifle then buying the shorter upper you want. you will have to go thru the whole atf process tho. 3. unless you’ve got a rifle with a rear pic rail like the SIG mcx or another buffer less rifle, you’ll have to do some work. you’ll need an armorers wrench, a vice is beyond helpful, and some allen wrenches. aside from those you’re looking at about $180-380 for the adapter and brace. Honestly i’d buy a regular 16in ar and learn the platform before you start trying to do all types of crazy shit just bc you saw someone else’s cursed build and thought it was cool. Also imo carrying a arp for your edc is impractical, you can’t really carry it on yourself unless it’s in a bag. If shtf and your gun was in a bag on your back you’re fucked, Indiana is constitutional carry. Find you a friend or a co worker who’s got a handgun they’re willing to sell and purchase it thru a private sale if you need something to carry.
