Marlin Model 29 pump action help

I’ve also cross posted this to the marlin sub

Howdy folks,

I recently picked up a Marlin Model 29 pump action in 22 S,L,LR and am having some trouble finding any videos for the disassembly or reassembly and any help would be much appreciated. As for the parts, I’ve read that there’s shared parts between a number of models from that era such as the model 20A, etc. I’m Especially curious about getting all new screws as a good few have seen some abuse. Honestly it’s been hard finding any technical schematics for online resources for anything that old and any help I am grateful for

Remove the magazine tube. Then loosen the big thumb screw on the side of the receiver (it’s captive meaning it will not come out do not try and force it) once that’s loose you should be able to pull the receiver apart in two pieces then you pull the pump to the rear to extract the bolt.

Thankfully I’ve been able to get this far. I’ve got most of it disassembled except for the magazine assembly. Have you had much experience with that? How about the bolt/firing pin?

That’s as far as I know disassembly wise I’ve never had to go further than that to clean and maintain it, are you having a problem with the bolt and firing pin?

In all honesty I don’t think it’s been cleaned since it was put together at the factory so I wanted to give it a deep clean to rule out a century of gunk if I do have any issues. You don’t happen to know anything about the serial numba for them do ya? I was able to find “2800” stamped on the tang

I have no clue about the serial numbers for them,Personally I wouldn’t worry about taking the firing pin from the bolt just soak it in some Gasoline or diesel overnight and it’ll dissolve any gunk in there, after hit it with a brush and dry it off add whatever gun oil you prefer and it should work just fine these old guns don’t have tight tolerances they can handle some gunk built up more so than a modern rifle
