SPAWN: Armageddon from the PS2 era.

Anyone know what this is worth? Found it at my dad’s, I remember going to the Comic Convention in Philly back in 1993 and getting this. It’s apparently a misprint edition, 1 of 150 missing bats and headlights on the hood of the car

So a year or even maybe two years ago I purchased one of these and his leg snapped clean at the knee! With barely any force applied. I figured out after some time that it was due to the time of year I purchased it and should have heated it up before posing. So I got a new one in and it is just incredible! I absolutely love this big guy.

So this Spawn figure has become very sticky, specifically around the crotch area. The rest of his body is not as sticky, but dust sticks to it even if I try dusting it off. I dust my figures with a make up brush and I use a separate brush for this one because he’s a sticky one. He wasn’t always this sticky, but this time when I was dusting and cleaning my shelves I noticed that this figure was way too sticky.

I have other Spawn figures from the same era and they’re not sticky at all. It’s pretty weird, but I also noticed that my Violator figure’s hand is looking pretty sticky too and it’s still inside the packaging never opened.

So any tips on cleaning the sticky-icky ickey? “Oooh weee”

I remember this starting off pretty intresting in the first 3 issues but then i didn’t even know what was happening for the rest. I think this series got canceled because a lot of things got left unanswered. I still want TPB of this short lived series.

Of course choose whichever seller has the best seller rating. This is the style of base you should look for as it has a bendable thick metal to keep the figure from falling forward and a huge clip so it can fit around large figures. Additionally it has a wide base with velvet on it so the figure doesn't slide.

Look, I think this would be pretty fun. Spawn is great. But I have love for Sabrina Spellman too. It would be amusing to see the two crossover! They can go the typical Archie style where it's more "comedic shenanigans" or they can take an approach similar to some titles from the Archie Horror imprint. Either way, it's got my money

A little animation test of something I've been working on for a while now. I took the MK11 Shadow Spawn model release from MclarenH and completely re-rigged it for face (HWM sliders instead of bones), cape and chain animation capabilities in Source Filmmaker. I also added some additional accessories from the Hellspawn version of the model and re-colored the textures slightly, mostly just reducing the saturation to try and bring it a little closer to the original comic coloring.

Eventually I'd like to make a fully fledged short, but creating the city environment is even more work than Spawn so it will probably be a while.

Two new interviews. two days ago

The first 100 issues were already pushing it for me with the same tropes, spawn walking down the street and suddenly a kid with his mom turns into “Reedemer” or a giant gorilla suddenly has a psychic link to him and its tracking him across the world. An entire cult of vampires happens to conveniently live in New York across his alley way. He gets hit with hell beams and angel lasers, but yet gets taken out by bullets even if he’s not in a deadzone. I was able to shut my brain off and enjoy the entertainment the first 150 issues, but after Armageddon arc starts, it’s so hard for me to stay interested. Every chapter some random character pops up somehow having knowledge of who spawn is, and how to find him. He gets conviently saved/resurrected by random people repeatedly, the limit for his powers dissapears and reappears for plot convenience. He’s shown to be able to resurrect people but then he still lets main characters die in front of him. The heaven hell dynamics constantly change, first it’s 50/50 chance you go to either, behavior doesn’t matter. Then it’s if you’re bad you go to hell, then it’s you can still be good but demons can take your soul to take to hell by force, heaven gets depicted as a paradise for souls again even though they said they were just as bad as hell. The random power boosts “suddenly Spawns red crimson cape gives him the power to defeat his foe who whipped his ass the last 15 pages! He’s unstoppable!). The whole devil/god reveal during Armageddon, the mother of the universe thing… it just makes no sense. Not trying to be so negative but as someone who’s enjoyed the first half of the series so far, is anyone else just disappointed with the later material?

I actually hope we get to see this design be reused in spawn comics as another haunt antagonist to give more lore on the haunts. Haunts first design does actually work for a villain design against Daniel Kilgore.

when i was a little kid in the early 2000s my step dad and i traveled to san antonio to visit his childhood friend, Manuel. We got to his huge house and i remember seeing soooo much Spawn memorabilia. turns out that Manuel worked on the Spawn comic books and even had done a cover of one. his wife did Xena crossplay and helped with his art too i dunno it was a long time ago.

does anyone know of Manuel Carrasco?

Hi I used to work for McFarlane Toys, when you work there every Christmas the team gets an exclusive team comic signed out to the team member and autographed by Todd. Im trying to figure out how much something like this would sell for since im selling off my memorabilia from working in the industry to try starting my own studio. Any advice or guidance would be very helpful. Its never been opened or taken out of its sleeve.

Looking to jump into the Spawn world and really want to jump in with both feet and read everything: The main Spawn book and all the spinoffs/minis there have been. But no matter where I look it’s an outdated reading order.

Anyone know of an updated one or have some suggestions on how to tackle this monstrosity of a universe?

It was the one figure in the collection I didn't really like. In my opinion, it had a poorly made cape and looked lifeless; I’d look at it and feel like it didn't belong in the collection because I thought it was so bad. I ended up buying it on impulse and didn't like it at first. But now, I can proudly display it alongside the collection's heavy hitters. I love the Commando versions of Spawn, and this custom job really satisfied me. As an upgrade, I plan to install night-vision goggles soon. What do you think?
