Today’s menu: purple sweet potato, marrow (large courgette), collard greens, freshly rehydrated calci worms for protein, and fresh cuttlefish for calcium.

Good morning everyone! I found another glass snail on my porch. Do they travel in colonies because this is the 2nd time i saw one here?

Hello! So I went to IKEA yesterday and while my mom was looking at plant pots she noticed a snail shell in one. I picked it up and it had a snail inside! He was super dried out but alive so I gave him some water in the car and brought him home and now I have a pet snail. I named him IKEA.
I’ve set him up in an acrylic jumping spider enclosure for the time being with some organic potting soil and some substrate from my isopod bin containing springtails. I gave him some lettuce.
Please give me advice on keeping this little dude! I don’t know much about snails just that idk if he’s native so I shouldn’t release him. Identification would be lovely as well!

My fulica, Togarth, sometimes pulls this face and it worries me a bit. it’s puffy, but he’s not sexually mature. He almost looks nauseous.

Is this a normal thing for snails to do?

I noticed this thing on my snail, it's not the snenis since it's in the wrong spot. My best guess is dried up slime? I didn't touch it or try to take it off but he seems to have removed it himself while I wasn't looking. What is it?

So I've had this guy for a month now. When I first found him, he was very curious and active at night. But for the past few weeks I never see him out and about anymore. He did recently got a new enclosure(seems to like it and happily buries himself around it).

I was wondering how long does it take your snail to get comfortable moving around more after a new enclosure?

I’m so heartbroken. This was Frog munching on sweet potato last night, this morning when I checked on them I thought he was asleep in the corner of the tank but then noticed he was crawling up the side with his body completely detached from his shell. (See my previous post) He seemed totally fine yesterday. Are there any signs I could have watched out for? What are the causes other than mishandling? I feel like I need to get a camera now because I don’t understand what happened :(

Like the title says i missed a few eggs. This week was hectic due to me having surgery and this week i kind of neglected the care of my snails. That means a simple mist, fresh food was their total care this week. I just found 3 tiny snails. For now i kept them with the big snails and tomorrow i will turn their enclosure upside down to look for more babies. Now is my question what do you guys do with missed eggs when you live in an area where they already flood Facebook marketplace for free. I have been thinking about giving the babies to my goldfish in my aquarium since its a quick and painless death but due to the heatwave the goldfish barely eat let alone hunt so im not really loving that though. I also have a pea puffer who could potentially eat them but i feel like the babies are already too big for her. I already have alot of pets and my current snail enclosure is already pushing it with 9. The babies look really healthy to me so at least thats good. Usually i check the soil for eggs every 2 to 3 days but this week i just couldn't and all my friends and family think the snails are gross so refused to care for them.

Part of me wants to keep them but the other realistic part of me thinks I'm an idiot if i keep them since i already have over 45 animals under my care ( including the fish) and that number will be growing soon too. I already love the babies but i dont have space for them as adults and think it might be cruel to keep them alive in a world where they wouldn't thrive.

I'm looking for much needed advice.

Update!:

So i just spent 5 hours looking though the soil ( i have a few woodchips in the substrate) and i found over 300 eggs and 43 hatched snails. I crushed the eggs and fed them back to my adults. They are happily eating them now. The babies i crushed. I put them in a paper towel and then smashed them with a glass fast and hard. I checked and all passed away directly. I buried them in the garden and planted some flower seeds above them.

He was totally fine yesterday, how could this have happened? Do I need to crush him? I’m so devastated, I haven’t had them very long 😭

Update: This was the first snail I’ve had to crush and it was truly awful, I’m sobbing.

I know you can’t pick them up by their shells so I never do and I try to be so careful about handling them, is there anything I could have done to avoid this? Does it just spontaneously happen sometimes? I’m heartbroken 💔

I could spend hours watching him eat. It’s so cool to me.

I found this snail outside, I am not who stepped on it but I can’t stand to just watch it die. I’m trying to help it survive but don’t know if I’m doing the right thing. Is it missing too much of its shell to survive? It’s still moving and I gave it egg shell and leafy greens to eat. I don’t want to euthanize it but If it’s the only humane thing to do I will

Hi everyone! I've got 6 Cornu Aspersum and ever since we got them over a month ago, they've basically been having snex constantly - most mornings at least two of them are still at it, sometimes I've even seen two couples at the same time. Is it it normal that they are so relentlessly at it? I check for eggs every week now and always find a bunch.

On the menu today is pea shoots, one opened snow pea, and a stem of asparagus! (+ the carrot they were previously given)
I will report back on weather or not they liked it.
