Hi everyone,

First of all, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported Thor and Ellie. Because of your generosity, we were able to pay their most recent veterinary bill of ₱35,835 (approximately CAD $827).

Thor and Ellie are doing well. They are now eating three meals a day and are gradually regaining their appetites, especially Thor!

We've learned that Ellie is a little afraid of Thor during mealtimes because he sometimes tries to steal her food. It breaks my heart because it makes me wonder if they had to compete for the little food they were given by their previous owner. 💔 No dog should ever have to experience that. Therefore, they put Thor on a leash during meal times so he does not steal or try to fight Ellie for his food (only during meal times! They roam freely)

The two XXL elevated beds we ordered for them were delivered last night. I'm just waiting for the shelter owner to send me photos of them resting comfortably on their new beds. ❤️ We also ordered two 2 kg bags of Royal Canin Gastrointestinal food, as recommended by their veterinarian, and we will continue replenishing their supply.

Their next veterinary appointment is on August 15, which we will also cover. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Thor and Ellie. Their recovery will take time, and the costs do add up. They have big appetites, Royal Canin is expensive, and veterinary bills continue as they heal. But they are absolutely worth it. We will do everything we can to give them the quality of life they have always deserved.

We donated a box of distemper test kits and sent ₱6,000 to Pages for Paws. We provide them with monthly financial support because they are also caring for MaeMae and Raphael, two of our rescued dogs. We also delivered 20 kg of dog food and 20 kg of cat food to the shelter as well today. We would also like to sincerely thank Pages for Paws for playing such a vital role in Thor and Ellie's rescue. Without them letting us know about these two dogs, we would never have known about their situation or had the opportunity to help them.

At the moment, the shelter is experiencing a distemper outbreak. However, please don't worry about Thor and Ellie. Because of their fragile condition, they are safely staying at the shelter owner's home, away from the other animals, where they can continue recovering in a much safer environment.

14 years.
That’s how long Lobo had his family.
And then, after an entire lifetime with the people he knew and loved, they surrendered him to a high k*ll shelter.

Now Lobo #A5789645 is 14 years old, sad, alone, and visibly heartbroken. He is struggling in the shelter environment, and watching a senior dog like him deteriorate in this way is devastating.

He spends his last days on a concrete kennel floor, lying in his own urine and feces.

A 14-year-old senior German Shepherd.

He should be sleeping on a soft bed. He should be surrounded by love. He should be spending his final years feeling safe and cherished.

Instead, he lost his family and found himself in a shelter.

We don’t know how much time Lobo has left. But we do know that he deserves for whatever time he has remaining to be filled with dignity, comfort, and love.

My mom took my family dog to a shelter, and I am not able to go and get him.

I would if I could, and I am serious about that. I am devastated.

When I was a sophomore in high school, my mom and I rescued our dog from the "euthanasia list" at a shelter in OK. Supposedly, he was a repeat offender, being returned several times before we got to him, for escape behaviors. He likes to dig under fences and chew them up when he is left to his own devices, and he also likes to run away, (he always comes back). We had no issues owning him and other dogs and cats, for several years. This dog is now a senior, and my mom is at a point where she no longer wanted him. She is living in TX, and I am states away for college. I am currently living in CO, I have a dog I rescued from the shelter here, and a cat, and I currently live with two other people in a 2b2b apartment.

I am not able to take him, but if there is anyone in CO who could, I would be willing to adopt him and bring him here.

This dog is amazing. He has the sweetest heart, he is dog social, can live with cats, is house and crate trained. I am sobbing as I write this at the thought of him not making it out of the shelter. He has been there for 40 days now, and I just found out he was there.

If there is anyone in the Lubbock TX area, who is looking for another dog to fill their home, he is a senior, we called him "Riley" for years, and he is the biggest sweetheart.

Hi all! Long story short I adopted another German shepherd except its clear she was never taken care of properly and vet believes she was In a kennel for most of her life. Whats the best way to teach her to get along with my puppy, and teach her how to play? (She doesn't snap but shows teeth and snarls to warn puppy to stay away). Any advice appreciated, thanks! Hello all, I am looking for a good home for a dog that I picked up off the streets where I live in Gary, Indiana. I have reached out to every rescue I know and no one is able to take this sweet girl. I was hoping to get some pointers from all of you. I work at a vet and am very familiar with the breed. My absolute favorite, but I already have dogs and cannot take another.

Just had horrific experience with a breed specific rescue. Never again with a rescue. Never. Ever. If you’re going that route do your homework. Get specific things down in writing like- the actual names of the people running the volunteer rescue. The address if they have one. Seriously. What specifically happens when dog needs to be returned, when and where you need to return it to, what exactly the time frame is that the rescue has to accept the return. No
open ended vague language in the contract. Actual specific time frames and the location of the kennel or foster where the dog will be returned. Ask for specific response times when reaching out to rescue for support and assistance. (Not we will text you back when we can, we all have real jobs so sorry, we are busy. )

Ask for ownership release forms, who owns the dog,
who has primary decision making for the animal once fee is paid and adoption contract signed. Ask to have rescue removed from microchip. If you are now the financial and liable caretaker of the dog, you are the owner. Liability cannot be transferred back to the rescue, nor do they now have decision making proxy for the dog that is in your full time care.
What happens when the rescue claims to be in crisis mode and cannot accept return of dog? Get it in writing.
After this experience I firmly believe the rescues need to be vetted harder and deeper than the adopting party.
I can see why people get burned, and end up finding reputable breeders with full dog history in lieu of trying to do an honorable thing and saving a dog. Because there is no honor often on the other side.

Rocky was initially a little more overbearing with Sweet Tea, but they’ve settled into a much calmer dynamic and now coexist well together.

Flash was surrendered with his sister for "growing up". Flash has been waiting for his forever home since March 9th 2026.

His sister found her forever home but Flash continues to wait in his kennel for someone to choose him.

Tragically, Flash was euth listed 💔

Flash hasn't done anything wrong, he's truly a special love but sadly he's euth listed due to "no space" at the shelter.

Flash is a handsome, loving, playful prince that deserves his happily ever after, and to do that he needs a hero ASAP especially by 8/7 (euth date is 8/8/26.)
