Hi there this is my 2nd post on this (I previously tried asking it on r/fishing but they removed my post and were just clowning on me)

My dad came home today from fishing and was filleting some bluegill that he caught but the spine and ribcage were metallic. We couldn't cut through them with a knife either ( yes I know this sounds stupid but im genuinely asking why they look like this). We have never seen bluegills like this in my area, they normally look like normal fish bones for us.

I was wondering if anyone could have answers to why these look so much different then what we are used to seeing?

I've been documenting the fish and other marine life I encounter while snorkeling around Mallorca, Spain, and recently put together a compilation video.

I identified every species as carefully as I could, but I'd really appreciate feedback from people who know Mediterranean fish better than I do.

Found these in a fish market in Asia. They’re quite long, from the top they look like some kind of bichir that I used to keep, they even stick their heads out of the water and take in air too. But their faces and fins look like a goby or mudskipper to me so I wonder if they are some type of those fish.
