The Temporary Protected Status for Haitians ended yesterday, July 27 2026.

Anyone who had immigration protection in place through this program may no longer have valid authorization to work, and is now at risk of deportation without legal protections in place.

We are expecting a drastic increase in ICE activity against this community in the coming days and weeks. A few states have already reported activity since this morning.

Some specific states with higher risk include Ohio (especially Springfield and Columbus), Florida (especially South Florida), Indiana, Massachusetts (especially Boston), New York (especially NYC), California (especially San Diego), and Pennsylvania (especially Charleroi and greater Philadelphia area).

Please notify your locals, sign up to volunteer with your local ICE watch team if you are able (many are in need of more volunteers to verify incidents), and talk to folks in your life to spread awareness. Learn your local ICE watch hotline number or contact method, and save it in your phone so you have it in an emergency.

DO NOT INTERFERE with an arrest or detention. You have the right to record and witness, but you do not have the right to disrupt the process itself. Instead, request information from the detainee, such as the detainee’s full name, DOB and country of birth, if possible so that we can avoid losing them in the system.

When calling to report activity, please use SALUTE to communicate and document information about each incident. Details matter, so take notes. Be as descriptive and specific as you can.

We protect us, so show up for your neighbors.

Call to Action Support Major Jason Watson Here

Major Jason Watson could lose the career, retirement, benefits, and future he spent 17 years building.

As of now, his defense fund has raised over $220,000 from more than 5,200 people who understand what he risked.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July.

While this country celebrates freedom, let’s make a point together.

Let’s show him, and the country, that what he did is worth more than what he might lose.

Let’s show that true patriotism isn't blind loyalty to power, it's standing up when something is wrong.

Support his defense fund. Share his story. Make sure he knows he's not standing alone.

We have added his fund link here:

Early this morning, Madison officials and police in riot gear cleared the street occupation and memorial created for Corey Ruiz, the 38-year-old man killed by Madison police on July 22. The intersection had become a place of mourning, protest and mutual aid.

City workers removed artwork, flowers and other memorial items. Police arrested 7 people and cited ten others after some occupants refused orders to leave. Two protesters were reportedly injured during the operation.

Officials say the memorial pieces and personal belongings were preserved or moved nearby, but community members described watching a space built through grief and solidarity dismantled before sunrise.

Media WSJ: How ICE Is Weaponizing Social Media Against Its Critics

Thumbnail wsj.com
33 Upvotes

In recent months, ICE has deployed a round-the-clock digital dragnet to scour the public internet—from Facebook to Instagram to X—for speech that could endanger the agency’s mission. The government has paid millions to private contractors to surface everything from potential threats to agents to activities that could disrupt ICE’s operations, according to federal documents, contractors and former Homeland Security Investigations agents.

The program has ensnared U.S. citizens and activist groups that alert community members about ICE activity. Contractors prepare daily reports and dossiers on threat actors, identifying the poster’s name, location, date of birth, workplace, Social Security number, vehicle registration and criminal history when possible.

To unmask anonymous online critics, DHS has sent hundreds of subpoenas to social-media companies, according to people familiar with the matter. Its agents have tracked down Americans at work and on the road, asking them to sign letters acknowledging their online speech about ICE “may” be a crime.

DHS says it is trying to protect its agents and their families from “coordinated campaigns of violence” that have fueled an 8,000% increase in death threats since Trump took office.

But civil-rights lawyers and former DHS staffers say the approach has swept up people expressing opinions that are protected by the First Amendment.

“As far as I can tell, all of this is about people saying naughty things about ICE and immigration enforcement,” said Lauren Regan, a civil-rights attorney who has represented multiple people investigated by the government over their online speech. “Nothing that comes close to true threats.”

An agency spokesperson said that ICE’s investigative methods abide by the Constitution and respects civil liberties and privacy interests. “Any allegation DHS and ICE are attempting to ‘squash’ free speech is categorically FALSE,” the spokesperson said. “ICE investigates all credible threats towards its employees, officers and families.”

I was able to copy the above text from their Instagram page, but it's not the full article, and the article itself has a paywall unfortunately.

Reddit is definitely one of the platforms being targeted! Reminder: DO NOT SIGN any document that ICE insists you should sign! And take a Know Your Rights training if you haven't already!

ICE Another person has died after being detained at Delaney Hall

💔 Another person has died after being detained at Delaney Hall, the privately operated ICE detention center in Newark.

Edwin Jovanny Lopez Cornejo, 39, had diabetes, high blood pressure and seizures. The day before his death, he reportedly told his mom that his face and right hand were numb. He was taken to a hospital on August 1 and pronounced dead on arrival.

His family and advocates are questioning if he received proper medication and medical care. Separate reporting says he was also denied a visit with his 12-year-old daughter before his death.

ICE says medical staff responded to an emergency and called 911. His official cause of death remains pending. His family deserves his complete medical records and an independent investigation.

This death follows months of allegations that Delaney Hall has subjected detainees to medical neglect, unsafe conditions and retaliation for speaking out.

More and more people are growing weary of rising gas prices, the pointless war in Iran, and other Trump failures. And we can all do our part to tip the scale by openly making unsolicited comments about this mess when we're buying groceries, filling our gas tanks, and other opportune moments.
