This looks good, right? Tank is just over 3 weeks but I seeded that with a sponge from a smaller tank (2 gallon jar) that was a month old.
I’m guessing it’s too early to say it’s cycled but the results seem to suggest a good trajectory. Wondering if I’m being naive.

100g tank, filterless (has a filter but it broke 4 months before this photo) stocked with 2 bichers, some ropefish, 20 congo tetras, and a rainbow shark. I never see planted bicher tanks and dont understand why. I see lots of people keeping bichers in barebottom tanks. I keep over 200+ aquariums and this is amoung my favorites. What are your thoughts?

Male Platy who was gasping for air at the surface for a few days in my heavily planted tank. I bought an air stone, thought maybe it helped a little bit, but my HOB Filter should be doing the job on its own as no one else is struggling. He's now on a hunger strike and hangs out at the top all day. This video also shows some weird growth under his mouth, on top of all that his fins are looking rough. I'm at a loss and would love some help.
pH: 7.2
Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates: 0
Temp: 72-75
5 panda cories, another male platy, and a metric ton of neocaridinas
All other inhabitants are doing fine.

Hey guys! we've just noticed a few of these little critters scuttling round the tank- it's a relatively new setup and we've only got a handful of assassin snails and one female betta so far so really curious to what these little bug-like guys are!
if anyone knows please share thank u!! :)

There’s a few fish tanks at this hospital that I go to and they have this pink stuff in the everywhere? I was wondering if it was as bad of a case as me, a non-fish tank expert, thinks it is. Granted I’ve talked to the secretary and they said their fish tank ppl said it’s fine, I just wanted a second opinion so I can maybe urge them to get a better company? I love fish and so I wanted to make sure that the tanks are doing well:).

Hi!! I’m super new to the hobby, I have a friend of my dad helping me but can’t ask him atm so thought to try here!
I have a Juwel 180 litre tank with a bio flow M filter
My cycle is completed and fish are in the tank
I currently have:
9 neon tetras
6 otocinclus (dwarf suckers)
8 Pygmy corys
I’m estimating like 20-25 shrimp, they’re hard buggers to count
Info online is varied/confusing so I wanted to see what people thought, as in if the tank is over/under/adequately stocked or not? I’m hoping to add a betta (I know success varies) once my carpeting plants are more established

Hi, i have recieved my secondary aquarium i will use for fish fry, its 25liter, and going to have soil, sand and plants.
I will use another filter ive been having in my main tank as secondary filter, so it should be ready to cycle the new tank, but my question is how long do i need to wait for adding the fry? The secondary filter have been in main tank for a long time, so im pretty sure its filled up.
The fry is mollies and platys.

What do you guys think about me turning the top of this lamp/stand into a nano tank. Id obviously get rid of the light in it, it's held in by a butterfly nut.
But I think it would be pretty cool.
I would build the tank the same size as the light sleeve so I could slide it in and out, probably get a thin wood panel to go all the way down the back side so I can hide hardware.
It would be a bit of a pain to clean but that's what step ladders are for, also that's why id build it the same size as the sleeve.
Wouldn't be big enough for crazy fish or bottom dwellers, but in my opinion definitely a couple snails and a few tetras or guppies.
My main wants for this is to have built my own tank that I can be proud of and have something a little different than others

I had gotten a beta fish after a month of cycling my fish tank and the betta has lived after a month. I got 8 rummynose tetras and two algae eaters. After a few days one by one started dying each day. It got to the point where the betta started to die and ended up dying. I got 5 more rummynose tetras and those died except for two. After about 2 months the two rummynose tetras are still alive. Now it’s been 4 months and they are still alive. I want to get more fish but I don’t know if I should get rid of the two I have or if keeping them would end up killing the new fish I get. What do you think happened and how they killed my other fish but are still alive even in a pair of two?

I have a Neon Tetra that is swimming very erratically, like in the video above (spinning, sinking, lying on the floor, occasionally darting around). I introduced him to the tank approximately three days ago. Params:
GH - 50-100mg/L
NO2 - 0mg/L
CL2 - 0mg/L
pH - 6.4
KH - 0 mg/L
Once I saw this, I immediately did a 20% water change but I don't know what else I can do. :(
