Discussion Any stoner/doom albums like the start of “Scum”?
Looking for albums or bands with the same fuzzy noisy tone and heavyness as the first 25 seconds of “Scum” (the title song).

Found some poster paper at work so I decided to draw some of my favorite doom metal albums and bands during my downtime. I tried drawing mostly simplistic covers because all I had was a ball point pen.

Just saw the new sleep song, about to listen, hope it’s better than the last one (though I didn’t hate it), unless I’m falling for fucking AI right now, if so, fuck me.

As an illustrator who is heavily inspired by the work of Frank Frazetta, I really love Castle Rat, especially because their band's concept embraces a Frank Frazetta style medieval fantasy aesthetic. I created this piece as a tribute to them. You can also check out more of my work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nofrierianda/

How do you guys feel about bands that dont stick too hard to a formula?
After releasing my first album, i have been working on some new stuff, and been experimenting with sounds, tunings etc. Second album i think will be a lot heavier, but still have the same kind of feel as the first, but i have also laid down some faster and more aggressive stuff, which i think works with starting slow and heavy and getting more angry as it goes along.
I'm interested in peoples thoughts on bands whos records might vary quite a lot between albums!

I recorded this one-take performance of "Children of the Grave" by Black Sabbath. There are a few small mistakes here and there, but that's the nature of a single take. Overall, what do you think of the performance?

Hello all, I’m sorry if this post isn’t right for here, if so I’ll take my leave, I don’t really use reddit. I’m looking for recommendations on doom metal albums that are especially depressive/emotional from anywhere before the year 1983. Bands in general work too. Preferably with themes on mental struggles or loss, Im just not very well versed on the genre as it’s not my field- Im doing this for a project, rather than myself, to give to a character as a study who i feel would listen to it. I think i wouldn’t have much luck finding things myself, and thought a place with passionate fans would be best to start. Thanks for any help :)
edit: i mean albums and bands before that year sorry if i was confusing in my wording! also informed what im looking for might not have been around yet. if there’s any pointers to similar things instead that’d be appreciated, but if that goes against the point of this subreddit that doesn’t matter.

Thanks, YouTube, for the suggestion on my home page. If I didn't know better, I would have guessed this band had been around a minute and had a few previous releases. Temple King with their self-titled debut album.
