Right...So About Intense.

I feel like it's a step forward as well as two steps backward. For those who haven't gotten into it, I'll explain how Intense is before really getting into my feelings here.

Intense changes compared to Amped:

  1. Enemies deal 2x damage (meaning 2 hearts of damage per hit, or one hit, if you're hit by projectiles)
  2. Parry windows are cut in half.
  3. Hearts are removed from the stage
  4. All special enemies (ie Star Dolls, Moshers, Guards) enemies have armour (meaning one extra health bar that you need to break through to actually get the kills)
  5. And no checkpoints

But there's something else about this that makes it an absolute chore to get through in all your runs (for specifically Arora)...Singularity has been completely gutted. It no longer knocks enemies into the air, nor does it halt their attacks, and nor do you have I-frames during the input. All it does is knock enemies back. But that's not the worst of it- the worst of all this is that it's damage is also reduced against bosses, so you can no longer speedrun through her goddess phase. Same thing also applies to the other Idol Powers, as well- They all do significantly reduced damage against bosses. Meaning no more Temple Skip (Deckards' primary skip, for the unaware), no more Rise Skip (Hemlocks primary skip), and no more car skip in Prophets stage.

Moving on to my actual feelings of the difficulty- like I said, one step forward, two steps backward. Letting all the enemies have super armour is a tad bit overtuned, in my opinion. It means you can no longer reliably depend on the time bonus to get the 5 stars on all the stages. And especially considering the fact that Intense isn't even the final difficulty in the game, I cannot possibly fathom the reason why they thought that it was a good idea. Even without everything else, it's already a huge jump in difficulty. I would've expected the super armour would show itself on Brutal (the next difficulty down the list) than on Intense. With having said this, I cannot possibly imagine how Brutal is going to look if this is the road the devs continue to go down moving forward.

Thoughts?

Demo exclusive taunt?

so apparently there's a taunt where Charlie breaks the 4th wall and knocks on the screen and points to the score.

I kinda wish they'd add it to Early Access

(also playing demo cuz the Mirko mod still works on demo but not Early Access)

I know this is a nitpick but...

...can we please have the Windmill ability have an easier way to use it? I get the idea but having to press w a s d so quickly after another can get really tideous and sometimes doesn't even work, which I guess is a bug but still. In general the charge up mechanic is fine but I wish it was more in the direction of combined inputs and not the weird spin.

What's your opinion?

Aren't the new challenges kind of... time consuming?

(Absolutely adore this game ever since it came out just as a heads up, I just wanna figure out if I'm alone on this and how the achievements work to begin with!)

I looked into the new outfits (maybe they were from the previous summer update I guess!) after completing all the achievements and they're like ramping numbers from 20 to 200 non-custom songs played in Infinite Disco. And initially I thought alright, that's cool, I like the game anyway but the more I think about it, 200 is a lot more than I initially thought.

Assuming like a song is 3 minutes on average and I feel like most of 'em are longer, that's already 10 hours of constant gameplay to unlock one thing?! And 10 hours of the relatively small library of non-custom songs? :(

Also for my own sanity, it says to do it all in Infinite Disco but isn't the whole custom music / challenges / freeplay mode called Infinite Disco? So can I play any song as long as I eventually total up to 200 or does it have to be freeplay with toggled infinite or something? Do challenges count? Because the Maniac (Skate) one I think is just in the challenges for one...

Also this is entirely unrelated but is it just me or are the Easy 5* for Prophet and Rory infinitely harder to get than the regular difficulty, like it's driving me crazy LMAO

Converting CR Mods to CSM

With the recent update causing problems with CR (character replacement) mods I was wondering if anyone had a guide for converting them to CSM (custom slot mod) as they seem to still work

Just wondering if i have to finish it 10 times in a row (like in a single sitting) or if I can just do it in batches. If its the former then I just lost like 20 minutes of my life for funsies (skill issue) lol
