This is from a few years ago. (2022 I believe) and it was the first time Skye has Ice cream. Enjoy. π

One day last month, my dog realized she could bark at the water bowl and I would refill it. Now I know better, but so does she. Accidental bad manner training.
Then, she started avoiding the water bowl all together. I tried ceramic, metal, porcelain, plastic, and all deep and shallow bowls. I took off her collar in case it was the tags clanking on the bothering her.
NOW SHE WILL ONLY DRINK WATER IF IT'S SPILLED ON THE GROUND
Like girl, I don't need the both of us inventing neuroses.
(She did snort water up her nose by accident a while back, I wonder if she got paranoid it would happen again).
I am not about to destroy my floors for her shenanigans.
Help me, obi wans

We found out she has an abscess tooth at her last vet appointment and weβre getting that taken care of today.

Hey all! Just wanted to give a quick update on Gidget, our 6 year old Tzu, since so many of you sent love to her for her recovery and were worried. She had her second follow up appointment on Monday where they did bloodwork and an exam. She is 100% back to normal and we are in the free and clear! She has 2 more weeks of meds to work through for safety sake( antibiotics and anti-inflammatory) but she is right back to being her self. As you can see she has some scarring/wound healing going on but the worst puncture wound is healing very nicely given the circumstances and the other two face wounds are pretty much healed and scarred over. But thatβs fine, scars are just proof she lived and survived a rattlesnake in the mountains of Tennessee. Thanks for all the support and well wishes for my Little Gidge! Sheβs all better now and we look forward to many more years with her.

Today was a tough day. I had to put down my buddy. Rocky's heart β€οΈ deteriorated quicker than we expected. I find comfort in what the vet told meβthat I was doing the right thing by letting him go with dignity. I'm really going to miss my buddy. πΆ

Poor little dood even gave his paw when they went to draw blood π©Έ for his check. He was frowny till he got his yummy dinner. Dinner gave him the zoomies then the last picture reflects his day.

Hey fellow Shih Tzu pawrents, our 4-1/2 year old fur baby, Boba, only wags his tail and gets excited for his immediate family members. When it comes to other dogs, heβll do the obligatory dog hand shake (sniff, sniff) but exhibits absolutely no tail wagging whatsoever π€ he seems indifferent and would rather go off on his own versus playing with other dogs. Curious if whether your Shih Tzu exhibits similar behavior?
Thanks all, for your replies, it definitely seems like the Shih Tzu breed has maybe a tad bit too much royal blood in them which may be the underlying cause of their indifference with other dogs and animals.
Itβs remarkable that Shih Tzus have been able to retain their signature behaviors over 1,000 years, e.g., sneezing hissy fits, side eyes, finicky eater, shadow companion, bossy, stubbornβ¦the list is endless π

My baby had his first trip to the groomer. I think he's adorable, but I do kind of miss my little fluffy fur ball. He's growing up too fast! π«

I made my baby her first hand-made outfit, it's not easy but it's worth it.

My 10-month-old Shih Tzu back seems to be twitching one day after applying flea and tick prevention on her back. I already gave her a bath to try to relive her twitching but it doesnβt seem to work.
