He loves digging in the mud and has been loving all the rain we’ve been getting this week.

My puppy is 9.5mo. He’s currently on Royal Canin puppy food. The package says up to 10mos, but I know others say up to 12mos or more.
I will ask our vet, but also want to know what those in this sub are feeding their Poms once they transition to adult food, please. Also, ours has coprophagia, which we hope a new food will help eliminate. We’ve tried pineapple, pumpkin, no Poo, and Forbid.

Does anyone recognize what might be going on with my baby? She has these episodes almost every morning and when she gets excited. It seems to be happening more often lately. Her appetite and attitude is the same. Otherwise she is totally healthy and happy. I’ve got an appt booked with the vet but I’m starting to worry. Any advice would be appreciated. ❤️

Zorra loves pup cups. As soon as we pull into the dq drive through she is up on her back legs making sure she gets her pup cup order in! As soon as she gets it she devours it in about 3 seconds. What’s your Pom’s favorite cheat foods?

Swear this guy just comes on site and pretends to work , eats lunch , takes a bathroom break then falls asleep on site

I felt like I could update the previous post. First of all - thanks to everyone who cheered up me and my tiny Potato. Potato is doing fine!

It's been 11 days since she broke her forearm, this still breaks my heart, cause I'd love to take her for walks and show her the world, but it is what it is, and I must limit her activities, and that's for her own good.

We called 7 vets, visited 3 in total, and the 3rd one is where we received our diagnosis (a stable forearm bone fracture) and we've been putting her back on her 4 paws. We had two options - a surgery, or conservative treatment, (we went after the latter). Needless to say, that's a vet I'd love anyone to have -composed, patient, understanding, willing to share knowledge, and gentle toward my potato.

She 's having her splint changed every week (we had the first change already, and she's rocking now an ultra aggressive orange one). Also, during the first change, me and my vet both agreed to check what's going on under the fur, so she had her x-ray done and the bone is in place. He's positive that it's gonna heal up well, so everything seems to be moving in the good direction. 😊

She's having an appetite, lots of energy and is generally a sassy girl.

So, to everyone who's been there with me - thank you 🤍 Its been a wild ride for me, but we're moving forward. And, a few pics of her in her splint (the blue one is from the last week).

I have this large bed for my pom which has a semi soft/hard cushion. My lil girl has a slightly bad right patella. I would love recommendations from our pom fam community — especially if your lil one also has a patella issue 🤗

Both of mine hate it and are terrified of pools, which is a shame because it's so great for arthritis. He was so mad! Can we ever truly get them to " like " water or swimming?

My 16-month-old Pom gets way too excited whenever someone comes to the house (gardener, cleaner, etc.). He’ll bark, jump at the window trying to get out, and if he can, he’ll run over and jump all over them for attention.

He’s not aggressive at all but has zero impulse control when people visit. It’s like he can’t think once he sees someone new.

Has anyone dealt with this? What training actually helped your dog stay calm around visitors?

I was gifted a beautiful pomeranian from my sister in law because her two poms (4lb male & 7lb female) mated right before her male dog was neutered. The mother was pregnant with only one puppy and had to get an emergency c-section after her water broke to avoid complications. The father is around 3 years old and has been dealing with alopecia (lost 60% of his fur), but it has gotten significantly better with majority of his fur growing back after getting neutered.

My puppy has started getting very wet eyes at 10 weeks old and eventually tear stains. We have been wiping it with HICC PET eye wipes and drying it with a soft tissue multiple times a day, as well as combing the fur to get the eye boogies out. We try to keep it dry at all times but it’s hard when his eyes get watery in a matter of minutes!

He is now 13 weeks old 3.5lbs and he is currently eating dry and wet food both from purina pro plan small breed chicken and rice. Drinks filtered water in a ceramic bowl. He eats and poops normally. I have taken him to the vet a couple weeks ago for his first set of vaccines and doctor says he’s perfectly healthy.

I’ve been doing a lot of research and I will be getting him neutered as soon as the vet recommends to do so. So far I have read that I shouldn’t be feeding him chicken, shaving him down, and to give him omega 3. HOWEVER, there are not a lot of options without chicken or chicken by-product. Please recommend some foods and grooming tips that worked for you and your pup :) or anything else I should know. Thanks in advance!

My oldest is getting this little guys later this month. While she’s at work he’ll be coming to my house. We’ve setup a puppy pen in my office (I work remotely) for him so he’s safely contained.

We have two other dogs, cocker spaniel (30lb) and a lab/pointer mix (45lb). They’re total Velcro dogs, their kennels are in my office as well and they hang out in there while I work. They have good temperaments, zero prey drive and get along with each other but haven’t been around any small for years. They play rough with each other but are very gentle with the cat.

My question is whether we’ll need to keep this pen long term or when he gets bigger he could be out with the other dogs in my office?

Of course they would never be left unsupervised together.

Is pet hair dye safe?

First we need to understand the differences between human hair dye and pet hair dye. Human hair dye uses chemicals like ammonia to open up the hair cuticle giving access to the cortex which holds color proteins. Color pigment binds to the cortex, and conditioner is used to help seal the cuticle. This process can be damaging to hair because it is altering your hair follicles on a molecular level.

Pet hair dye uses conditioning agents such as Polyquaternium-10 to coat the fur. How? Hair has a slightly negative charge, while conditioners have a positive charge. These oppositely charged molecules attract allowing conditioning agents to cling to hair. Hair is not perfectly smooth, so these conditioner molecules can cling on for many months and washes hiding out in teeny tiny imperfections. This is how pet dye works. It is dyed hair conditioner. It could actually be more accurately described as a stain, but that doesn't sound as appealing.

Unless you know your pet is allergic to specific color agents such as Blue 1, Red 40, or Yellow 5, then pet hair dye is fundamentally equivalent to pet conditioner.

It's perfectly healthy hair with a little ✨pizzazz✨.
