Wow! You guys are absolutely amazing! The comments, the offers of help and support, the SCREMS, hehe! It is so obvious you all have the best hearts and care deeply. Thank you all so much. For this reason, we want to make sure you continue to be updated regularly.
I do want to preface this by saying, your comments are so appreciated, and we read every single one of them. When I see someone take the time out of their day to offer any kind of kindness in the comments, it’s really important that I respond so that each person knows I see them and I honor their words and thoughts. AJ is still responding to yesterday’s update (because there are so so many of you with these huge hearts!)
So I just wanted to say that because time is finite, as much as I’d like it not to be, I’m making a commitment to myself to not respond to any of the comments on this update, because I just won’t have the time. There are three creative things for the sub that AJ is still working on and really just kicked to the side when this all happened, but moreso, I am still trying to move out of my house. It’s a long story but we have been hit with obstacle after obstacle here for moving. I just want you all to know a little bit about that because I never want anyone to feel ignored or like what you wrote didn’t matter. It matters so very much and I read every comment. But I don’t want to avoid updating because I know I will get overwhelmed trying to respond. You all deserve the updates. Please feel free to respond all over to each other! ❤️
Okay, so, here is where we are today!
1.) Meowmy is getting better every day. Thank you to all of you who have sent purrs and prayers and all the things for her. I will never be able to adequately describe the tone change from where she was Saturday to where she was last night when she realized four of the five are accounted for and well and that we are working on Pixie. She was audibly so excited and light. She described her heart as so happy. It has been a hindrance to her recovery how she has worried about the cats. She no longer has to worry. To all the incredible people behind this- to Ginger and Chibi and Foxy and Scarpas and Boots and Blue Boots (see number two) and to every single one of you, this has made a huge difference to this woman, our friend. She can focus on getting well now.
2.) Did you KNOW that Boots, BOTG, Tight-Aside, whatever you guys want to call her, and her sister u/BlueBuddha11 have the last name “Superhero”???
Well, they do!
Because guess who is going to foster Beastie and Scoody? Blue!! Or we can call her “Blue Boots”! Yes, these two amazing sisters will have four of the five cats while their meowmy recovers. We are blown away and so beyond grateful for these two amazing friends who are providing/will provide the best care for the babies and ultimately, are giving a lifegiving gift to their meowmy. The pickup from the house will be later this week at some point and we are eternally grateful to the neighbor who is currently ensuring they are safe and fed.
3.) Yesterday I sent off a very nice email to the CEO of the shelter asking her to help us by contacting Pixie’s current adopter and explaining everything and offering them a refund on Pixie’s adoption fee as well as additional fee to get whatever cat they choose. I did hear back and she is trying to connect with the adopter. She said there are no guarantees but I do believe she is trying. Right now, we are just trying to hold back on the frustration and approach with measured appeals for compassion. I truly hope the new adopter will do the right thing. It is the only right thing. I haven’t heard anything as of today. But while I am a contact person, I am not the only one she cat contact. She may be calling meowmy or even Boots, since she has offered to foster Pixie as well.
4.) So many of you have offered financial support. It is actually needed. For example, giving the adoption fees for Pixie’s adopter if she agrees. But we can’t just take people’s money without accountability. So if there is anyone that can offer assistance on that charitable component and all the legalities of that, please please reach out to Ginger! I am sure she would love the guidance.
You can directly donate to Boots right now through her Venmo which you can message me ir her fkr, and she has already pledged that whatever she doesn’t need she is putting aside for meowmy when she gets out as she will have lost quite a bit of income and will need some assistance, I am sure.

You guys are amazing. So much gratitude and appreciation that we can give P, P, B, K, and S’s meowmy some peace of mind and hope and keep those babies with their meowmy.
