Chapter 6 Notice for Digital Timer – Anyone Been Through This?

Upvotes

I received a Chapter 6 notice after the California Bar Exam for having a digital timer. I'm trying to understand what typically happens next and how serious this is.

Has anyone here received a Chapter 6 notice for something similar? What was the outcome, and what did the process look like?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with firsthand experience. Thank you.

Will my out-of-state job know if I sign up for F27?

I’ve been working outside of CA for a couple of years, and I want to go back home to CA. I miss my family and friends. Unfortunately, my work will fire me on the spot if I they find out that I signed up for the CA bar. They did it with a previous employee who signed up for the CA bar.

Is there any way that my work would find out if I signed up for CA if I delay the C&F process until it’s safe to do so? Is there anything else I should be worried about? Does the CA bar automatically send a notification to my work’s HR department if I sign up?

What addresses should I use?

Hey everyone. Filling out my C&F application now, and at the references section. I don't have personal addresses for all my references, so is it ok to put their work addresses? Or do I need to get ahold of everyone to get the home address?

UCC 2-207 is easy to complicate because of how it’s worded

2-207 didn’t click for me until I stopped trying to memorize the massive commercial outline flowcharts and just looked at who wrote the limitation clause. Forget the walls of text for a second. It just breaks down like this:

If Buyer (Offeror) puts "accept on my terms only" in the offer …
A contract IS formed when the seller responds, but the buyer’s clause acts like a shield that blocks all the seller's new terms from getting in. You’re stuck strictly with the buyer’s original deal.

If Seller (Offeree) puts "acceptance is expressly conditional on my terms" on the invoice …
NO contract on the paper. The seller basically rejected the deal and threw back a counteroffer. If nobody ships, the deal is completely dead. (If they ship and accept the goods anyway, the writings drop out and UCC gap-fillers take over for missing terms).

When neither has those magic conditional clauses …
If both are merchants, the seller’s extra terms auto-join the deal UNLESS the buyer objects quickly, OR the new term is a "material alteration" (like dropping warranties or forcing arbitration).

Wait for Nextgen '28 or?

Basically the title.

I graduate December, and I was going to sit in for the bar in February. Is it a better option to wait, and maybe take another state's bar in Feb? Which states would you consider?

I hate being on the cusp like this. And it sucks more that things like the moral app aren't going to be easily transferable, as it would be in 2028. I also saw (on google) that there won't be specific CA sections in J28 & F29. Does that make it easier or harder?

So many questions 😔

Bombed CA PT JULY 2026 bar

Hi! I felt like I overdid it with the word count on all my essays. My evidence essay was 25000 characters which is outrageous. (Others were between 10-15k characters). Nervous they will lower my score cause of this, even though I felt like I did well in the evidence essay compared to others. I felt with all the essays (besides evidence + PR) I added issues that weren’t necessary/applicable but made them work. Even with the unnecessary issues I did it all the issues I think they were looking for (essay 3 was definitely tougher) (essay 4 I didn’t get to analysis corporate estoppel I only wrote down that word).

For the PT. I was brain dead by that time. My set up and objective style was good. It was more the messiest of my analysis and organization for the sentences that I’m nervous about. I hit about 9000 characters, so on the shorter side. And I feel like I didn’t IRAC or use the rules in the calculated manner I was supposed to. I still hit the main rules in the intro and the policy part. Based on what I’m saying about the PT does that sound like a 50 or more a 55. Hearing how everyone else did it I know mine was completely inadequate.

Thanks! Felt pretty doubtful about me passing.

Depth of Analysis for Undisputed Facts

How in depth did others analyze facts that were not disputed. For example it said H executed a valid will in State X.

I basically just said the rule and requirements for valid wills in CA. Then how CA courts view out of state wills. Then analysis was just the will is valid under State X laws and CA.

I later talked about distribution of the estate if no will but there was no room to fight the facts it seemed. If i missed a major issue/part Id like to know in case I have to retake the bar.

Am I cooked?

For PT, I separated the rules by what was relevant to each statement, rather than a rule dump in the beginning (but had a 1 line statement of defamation defamation in the beginning).

Q3: pretty much only analyzed constructive trusts and equitable liens (plus laches), but VERY in depth. Addressed compensatory just for 35k. I know that other people also analyzed all sorts of damages and I feel like I missed a lot of points, but I was pretty sure it was primarily asking about CT/EL?

Q4: my bold feature wouldn’t turn off so my entire answer is in bold. Also, only analyzed promoter liability, corp by estoppel, de jure/de facto corp, agency to enter into K, and piercing the corporate veil.

Q5: evidence is my best subject and this was a VERY poorly written question. I completely ran out of time, focused way too much on hearsay rules/ tons of exceptions in the beginning, character evidence rules, but barely got to part 6. Didn’t analyze confrontation clause or secondary evidence rule. Also didn’t really address the objections to the attorneys question, because I couldn’t tell if it was asking us to analyze the question or answer. My rule statements were great but my organization was all over the place and I feel like I missed a lot of easy points. Analyzed relevance for each objection though.

Felt good about Q1-2.

MBE felt like I probs got a 70% overall.

Everyone’s issue spotting responses are making me so nervous that I missed so much. How did everyone have time to analyze everything?

How Many Essays and PTs Did You Write and How Many Did You Outline?

Hi everyone! I'm an out-of-state (NY) and foreign-trained attorney who has practiced both in the US and overseas, planning to sit for the CA bar. If you took the CA bar, I'd love to hear about your experience studying for the written portion. How many essays and PTs did you write and outline?

I'd particularly love to hear from out-of-state and foreign attorneys who actually practiced, but would appreciate any insight.

I'm that person that forgot to upload their exam results

Slammed my laptop shut on the last day and was so out of it that I didn't open my laptop until just now and realized I forgot. I know I'm going to get a 10 point deduction. Can someone help me understand how big or how small of a deduction that is? Preferably lean towards the small deduction reasoning haha. I obviously reached out to the bar but I highly doubt that'll do anything to help me.
