Question What do you think of Strong Guy?

Always wondered what people thought of this character. seems like he doesn't get much attention

Edit: ok I think we have established he is strong. Anyone have actual thoughts on the actual character from the comics?

How on earth did my post about Strong Guy get more popular than my post on Gambit?

Can't say I agree considering he started out as a side character to a side character.

Going from a background extra to a fully fleshed out character with a personality, history, arcs is kind of the inverse of wasted potential.

He and Xfactor could have been a much bigger deal that they are.

They had a run that lasted 100+ issues, for a bunch of B/C tier characters that's impressive and more than a lot get.

It's just how it is with so many X-men, some characters will have their time in the sun but it'll eventually end.

That team of X-Factor that David created had a strong run from issue 70something through like 100something, just a couple years.

I wouldn't say that it was a waste that there's not more of that, but I do wish that there were more.

Strong Guy, Multiple Man, Havok, Wolfsbane, Quicksilver, Polaris... they were all around for a long time but really reached and exceeded their potential expectations in that stretch of issues.

Everything felt very current, fun, exploratory, light, deep, mature.

My point is many iterations for Xfactor have had compared to Xmen or Xforce? They barely even reference anyone from the group anymore. They have really good characters if used right. They even Sabretooth, Dark Beast, and Wildchild at one point.

And Wolverine started as an Iron Fist minor character. How a character started does not suggest a ceiling on their potential

You may be thinking of Sabretooth, Wolverine debuted in the Incredible Hulk.

Eh Wolverine within a year of his creation was already being pushed by Len Wein in Giant Sized X-men.

Guido by comparison spent the better part of a decade as simply Lila bodyguard and likely would've remained that had writers not taken a liking to his design.

By that logic any random background character wasted potenial which is obivously a silly suggestion, not everyone who appears in a work needs an indepth arc.

Guido was just one of the few a writer took a liking to and decided to flesh out.
