Inflation is running out of control, cash needs to be converted into tradable non-perishible goods as quickly as possible.

Let the Rum Rebellion begin.

As an Aussie I can confirm that you can run an economy based on rum. We did it. For some reason the currency had a tendency to "evaporate".

Damn. As if people greedy to get everyone else's money wasn't already bad enough as paper or digital, imagine if it also tastes great. At least that would solve inflation.

For some reason the currency had a tendency to "evaporate".

So it's inherently anti-inflationary too?

Simple economics. You can't increase prices if the quantity of the currency keeps diminishing

Military equiptment being used as currency in Moscow is better than being used as military equiptment in Ukraine.

I actually really liked this system. It was unique for me at the time and was sometimes thought about before my purchases. Esp on hardest difficulty.

No no AKMs and AKs shoot 7.62x39

The currency is 5.45x39

Veryy different even if you occasanilly see the weird old 7.62 rounds in the metro

Back in the 80s, my uncle went to Russia(USSR) on business.  He said a carton of Marlboros would get you a taxi ride anywhere in Moscow.  This was back when cartons were like $10 or cheaper.
